Adobe Rose Ratings and Reviews
The food was great the company was good but our service sucked! Our waitress was not there as per our needs! Oblivious to what was going on! Order drinks took a long time for to get them to us ! She didn’t clear plates before she brought birthday brownie! Overall it was great food just the service sucked!
With our reservation we were seated right away and the service was prompt, until it came time for the check...felt like we had to wait sometime to leave. The food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant, though where we were seated there was an overwhelming mothball or petroleum smell that would only dissipate when the air conditioner would run. My wife went to wash hands prior to eating and had to wait in line as it is a one person RR for whole restaurant.
We drove 35 miles from Roswell to met some friends here for our anniversary dinner. We had been a few times before and the meals were wonderful. This time they were good, but not as good as previous visits. We love dining at local places for the local favorite foods, versus chain restaurants. The ambiance is great; plenty of outdoor dining and a new addition for outdoor live music. The bar area is also located outside, but is very small. Inside the restaurant is also small and cozy. One of my favorite places to go when we have time to make the trip!
Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating to my request for an item off of the bar menu; the food was good; but, very pricey compared to other restaurants with the same quality of food. The wines started at $50.00 up. Not sure I would go back; lots of other places to explore for a meal that was over $150.00 for two.
The Adobe Rose is a true jewel and a must visit for at least the out of towner passing through and from the number of cars in the parking area (which thankfully has been enlarged since our last visit) for the local people as well. We visited first a couple years ago and have talked about how great the food and food service was since. When we had to pick an overnight stopping place on a recent trip, we chose Artesia, NM so we could revisit. It was as good the second time as it was the first.
I love going to the Adobe Rose for special occasions, the food is always fresh when we go, but I must admit that I get the same thing each time I have gone. Perhaps a change of menu could happen to provide a variable of options to the choices. An example would be either chicken fried chicken or steak. Option of veggies would be nice as well. I'm not sure if substitute is available, but to have choices to something good would be favorable to helping me stay with in what I like with minor changes each dining experience. I love the ambiance of the place and the staff attends you personally each time.
The meatloaf was not as good as usual. The outside was way overdone. Taste was not the same. Desert was awesome though! The last few times we've been at Adobe Rose, it just hasn't been what it used to be. Not sure if there's internal problems or inexperienced wait staff. Hopefully they will figure it out!
Well, first off we had reservations. We were seated at a table for two in the BAR area; actually in front of the bar. Really! With a reservation no less!! The wait staff traffic was steady, enroute from the nearby kitchen & bar. We asked to change tables to an empty table for two in a secluded corner. After checking, our waiter said it was reserved for a 6:30 p.m. customer. Well 6:30 came & went & the table was a no show. Really! When we ordered our desert a young couple in less than casual attire were seated at that other table.
Then our waiter messed up my husband's entree & so I ate mine while he waited!!!
Overall the experience was awful! It was our anniversary & we were vacationing from Michigan. I chose the Adobe Rose which was highly recommended.
Disappointed in the service, ambience & attitude. Beef entrees were fantastic, however.
Whatever your plans were change them and come here! Most amazing dinner ever!!! Didn't even mention it was my birthday that night and the service was impeccable and the food was top notch!!! The Ek steaks and Dr Pepper Lamb just melted in your mouth and we ended the night with the tableside Bananas Foster made by our outstanding server! This is definitely a restaurant that you don't want to miss!!!
I have never had a bad meal at Adobe Rose and when my mom wanted to bring one of her friends 120 miles to visit me, she wanted to take her to Adobe Rose. We had the Friday lunch special of fish and chips which was delicious! My mom's friend got the Monte Cristo and she said it was the best she ever had. Our server was wonderful and our lunch couldn't have been better!
This is a great place to meet friends for a beer or wine. Cigar smokers are welcome on the patio. We have been several times and the service was great on the patio. The full dinner service on Valentine's Day was a bit unpolished. The waiter had never opened a bottle of wine. Management should have practiced this service with the server BEFORE dinner on Valentine's Day. The Adobe Salad was very tasty, the shrimp and scallops were exquisite and the sirloin was cooked perfectly. The sangria is to die for!!! One suggestion, sell it by the pitcher!!!!
