Adobe Grill Ratings and Reviews
We live in La Quinta and this was one of our many dinners at Adobe. Once again, they came through with fresh, authentic Mexican food and great drinks. A special “thank you” to our waiter, Victor, who gave excellent service and made us feel welcome. Forget the tourist traps and visit an authentic Mexican restaurant: Adobe Grill.
We are locals and have eaten at Adobe Grill many times. The food is always great and I love the changes to the menu. Table side guacamole is always a must. Fabulous margaritas! However, it is the service that makes us return. Oswaldo is a fabulous server who always remembers our preferences and ensures we are well taken care of. Personality and great service - thank you! A special mention must be made to Heriberto who also remembers us and is so welcoming. A nice touch was the chef coming out and personally checking on the tables.
We went to Adobe Grill twice on this visit to La Quinta Resort. The first time at Lunch they forgot my chicken on my salad but went above and beyond to comp my salad with late arriving chicken. Gorgeous views from the outdoor patio.
The second time we went , the staff were very friendly but unorganized. They forgot our chips and salsa and food was luke warm and disappointing. The fajitas don't come sizzling and the tortillas were dry, no real Mexican flavor anywhere. The Ceviche was downright odd. Nice shrimp but too soft fish swimming in a verde sauce...just not what we expected as we LOVE Mexican Ceviche.
We loved our night out at Adobe Grill. We travel a lot and are busy in our work and Ministries. It was pleasant to enjoy an excellent meal, hear the music playing at the outdoor venue and get reacquainted with my sweet wife. The service was timely and personable. Even the Supervisor visited us to see how our evening was going.
We've eaten in the Adobe Grill for many years and generally had very good meals, always enjoying ourselves in an good atmosphere. Unfortunately this time, it was not so and a disappointing evening. The service has always been very fast so we clearly asked for a min 20 mins break between serving our starters and mains. We were barely half way through our starters and the mains arrived. Despite the server's requests (server very friendly) to the kitchen, they ignored him. We sent the mains back and despite a further request they turned up again well before we'd politely asked. When the food did arrive, the quality of the steak in the fajitas was extremely poor (lumps of fat and gristle).
The manager was very apologetic for the service / quality of the food and didn't charge us for the food which was much appreciated.
If you're looking for some tasty margarita's and a fast feed with mains on top of starters then the Adobe Grill is for you. If you're looking for a little more refined evening then this isn't for you.
Didn’t have much of an expectation and boy were we happily surprised. Great fun and relaxing ambience. The food was better than average. We started out with the flower blossom quesadillas followed by the fresh Tuna tostada. We chose the pork pastore and seabass tacos and they were so delicious. All of the food was very fresh. The flan was exceptional. Highly recommend the muddled jalapeño margaritas - absolutely delish. Our server, Maria, had a wonderful and bubbly personality. Request her if you can. The Manager also checked in with us and it was clearly evident, that they really care for their customers. Overall, a terrific experience.
Arrived Friday night late 9:00, after traveling. They close at 10:00, but felt like they were already checked out. Margarita was bad- watery, too sweet... hardley ever saw the waiter, so had to go to the bar myself to change out the margarita.. it's off season, so maybe they just are not in full swing yet...
Superb experience, what a great place to cool down with some deliciously crafted Margaritas and delectable guacamole. "Margarita Del Rey" translation : a "Kings Margarita" was what my server recommended, my pallet agreed tremendously! The Mole was the best I have ever had. From the friendly Manager and Host at the front, to the server and buss boy, everyone was extremely gracious and accommodating. Can not wait to do this again!
Our first visit to this restaurant. Walking in I asked the manager to please lower the deafening loud blaring music! It was impossible to hear anything! The decor was so cheesy! Please close this restaurant and bring it up to standards of this resort! It could be such a beautiful ambiance painted white and updated! Waiters very friendly , buss staff attentive, mgr attentive. Food very overpriced..dinner tacos were small in size like street tacos. Should be full size with 2 tortillas as they fall apart! Fajitas shrimp were tasty but flour tortillas were hard. Had to ask for fresh! Beans & rice very salty..:( cadiallac margaritas were actually not bad. For 2 people with one drink each $90 with tip. Very poor value, horrible ambiance! The blaring music, bright cheesy colors, horrible murals...Those cheesy geckos??? I will not return. You have several other tasteful restaurants on the grounds instead. Does not even come close to the standards of this resort....
Adobe Grill is a charming and popular Mexican restaurant in the beautiful La Quinta resort. There is a great patio bar that has its own menu and live music, which we enjoyed on our last visit -- but since it was 103 at dinner time on Friday night, we opted to sit inside. Food is very good and nicely presented. The table side guacamole is excellent, the margaritas are huge. Dishes ordered for our group of 5 included tacos, fajitas, enchiladas and a beef short rib dish. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and our friends took home leftover fajitas and short ribs. My husband inhaled the chicken enchiladas. Adobe Grill is an attractive venue with good food and good service. Highly recommend!
My wife and I each ordered a steak fajita while sitting in the bar area. The bartender only brought one plate of fajitas out and I explained we both ordered a dish. He explained that he thought one dish was enough for the both of us. I had ran 4 miles and golfed a round without really eating all day. I was starving!! I didn't appreciate the bartender telling my wife and I what we needed. We expect to get what we ordered.
My cousin ordered the ceviche, it was watery and bland. Not the typical ceviche... I ordered the shrimp and albacore ceviche. My Albacore was over cooked, it was decent not great. Chips tasted like they were fried in old oil, they had a bad after taste. My husband ordered the flautas, they also had a old oil after taste. I was quite disappointed with my overall food experience. Our server was great and the ambiance is good. They need to work on the quality of food. Especially for the price.
The food was incredible however the only thing I could complain about was the Tableside Guacamole was carted over and the avocados were the only items prepared. They placed the onion and other accompanying ingredients in a plastic Dixie cup. That was the only underwhelming element of our experience. Otherwise the entrees were AMAZING! The best Mexican cuisine I've had ever!
Overall, pretty meh. Food was good enough, but not the best. Drinks were adequate. Service? Nice enough, but they were stingy with the chips. Just a mediocre experience, considering how gourmet the menu reads and, ahem, the prices. I live in the Bay Area, so no sticker shock here, just routinely eat at amazing world class restaurants for similar price. This was just ok. Nothing special.
