Adelle's Ratings and Reviews
Three of my friends and I dined at Adelle’s to celebrate two birthdays, they all had previously eaten their and this was my first time. The atmosphere was beautiful and festive for the Christmas holidays. The staff was super and food was delicious, they did not rush us in ordering so we had lots of time to talk over drinks before ordering appetizers and the main course. I definitely plan to be a return customer.
We have previously eaten at Adele’s multiple times, all good experiences. However, this one was different. Our server, although very nice, was not prepared to handle our table. We received the wrong drink, he did not know the menu, and and the bill came, it was wrong.
Relative to the food, several dishes lacked their historic flavor, they were bland.
We return to Adelle's about every other month. Have always been very pleased. On this occasion we had booked the reservation with redeemed points. When we got there, it was discovered I had booked it for the following Wed, not the Wed we were there. The restaurant honored the $50 redeemed points gift nevertheless. Service from everyone was exceptional. Menu, as always, creative and excellent tasting. We had a very enjoyable time on this hectic day before Thanksgiving.
Good quality American food, with several options for appetizers and main dishes, also offering daily specials. There were several options for red meat, poultry and fish. Both my husband and I had fish dinners, he the salmon and I the whitefish. Portions were sizable and the accompanying vegetables tasty and well seasoned.
Prices were reasonable.
Our server was efficient, engaging and knowledgeable of the menu offerings.
Sad to say that Adelle's did not meet our expectations. Our food was not properly prepared: the pot roast (!) and meat loaf were dry, and the schnitzel was severely overcooked and tough. The vegetable on each entree were unseasoned (it seemed) and were cooked in varying degrees of doneness. The prices were appropriate to the restaurant Adelle's aspires to be—not the one that it is. However, the staff was very friendly and mostly attentive. We would like to think that we came on an 'off night', but it seems our experience accords with many others. I doubt we will return.
My wife and I have dined at Adele's numerous times... and each time we experience a warm welcome from beginning until end. Service is top notch and the food is outstanding. The bar area is where we typically start the eveing having a cocktail and then proceeding into the dining room. The bar is lively and pour a extremely rewarding pour!
We've been here half a dozen times now and I can't rave enough about the atmosphere, service and food. If I had more time I would go once a week. The drink specials were delicious and food was amazing. Varies Salads, Risotto, Charcuterie & Cheese Plate, Steaks, Pork, Chicken were this experiences top choices for our table and all were prepared to perfection. Save room for desserts as they make some great ones. Special thank you to Marianne who has been our evening host (server) as she looks after us like royalty.
We had dinner here recently and ordered some of their specials:
The pear-date bruschetta-very good, a bit sweet
The butternut squash apple soup - very good, just the right consistency
Pan seared scallops with celery root purée and shittake mushrooms- very good, 2 perfectly seared large scallops
As well as some items off the regular menu.
Finished the meal with a chocolate mousse dessert-yummy.
Great night and great food!
Wonderful again! Talented chef and reasonable wine list highlighted with reserve selections. Starters include lobster wontons (sauce a bit too sweet may benefit from a savory component like mustard) and calamari shined. Pumpkin Soup was seasonal and creamy. The best seafood risotto ever! Fills up fast so reservations recommended. Great pre-show venue. I’ll say it again...really talented chef.
We have know the owners for decades, Todd and Debbie do a great job, many of their staff
are from the old location in Wheaton, just like a lot of their customers. You can drive into
Chicago, and spend a lot more, and not come close to the great meal you will get at
Adelle's. One of our all time favorite places to go.
We have been dining at Adelle's for years going back before its current location. The owners, Debbie and Todd, always treat us like family and indulge us our special requests. Chef John is amazing treating guests with a variety of dishes from seafood to steak, pasta to dreamy desserts. In season, the outdoor patio setting is charming and relaxed. The decor designed by Debbie is soft and warm and features a room-divider fireplace. Service is outstanding with some waiters and waitresses with them for years. Truly professional. Adelle's a an excellent special occasion restaurant as well as an any day treat.
We had the special Trout stuffed with crab cake and the special Risotto (there are different specials each day the feature fresh, seasonal ingredients). Both were perfectly prepared and flavorful. We sat outside - they have a beautiful, large, semi-covered patio with plantings that make it seem like a private garden. We come back frequently and we are always pleased.
The dining room has a warm atmosphere. The service was a bit inattentive. But we had an early dinner reservation. Perhaps the staff was not in full swing.
The dinner fries were delicious. The pot roast was tender and juicy and complimented well by the bleu cheese. The fish tacos were tasty thanks to a creamy, tangy sauce. The overall experience was good. Decent wine selection and good value.
We had a great meal with good friends as both couples celebrated our anniversaries. The food was delicious and the waiter gave us some great advice on the specials.
The owners family spoke with us and then sent us champaign to celebrate. Quiet , lovely atmosphere!
Unfortunately, our waiter stunk! Maybe he was new. Maybe he wasn't trained properly. I'm not sure. We waited 15-20 minutes upon being seated before my husband finally got up and asked someone to get our waiter. I think our waiter only had 1 other table. That's unacceptable for the prices Adelle's charges. He seemed to neglect us quite a bit.
The rest of the staff was great! They kept the water glasses full & they bused the tables promptly.
The food was terrific! Lobster spring rolls & portabella fries were yummy! We enjoyed our entrees. Half chicken, salmon, whitefish, meatloaf & wienerschnitzel.
Adelle's is my favorite restaurant in Wheaton. We had a visiting friend who's a real "foodie" (owns a tavern, dines out all over the country, goes to food festivals, etc.) and I knew I needed somewhere good...and it was. We had a great meal and relaxed time to catch up.
We have dined at Adelle's a few times the past few years. Our latest visit was not as good as previous dinners there. The food quality was just OK and we didn't think worth the price. Our server was polite but not overly friendly. When we weren't ready to order she disappeared and we had to track her down. The clean up crew rushed us when we weren't done with our dinner.
All in all just an average experience which for the price did not meet our expectations.
Adelle's never fails to satisfy. This time we ordered the Risotto appetizer to split, the white fish and the Salmon with a pistachio sauce. All three were superb. Dessert was a raspberry mousse, to die for.
We have gone Adelle's for years and each time find new things on the menu. We have never been disappointed.
