Adelle's Ratings and Reviews
Jazz Thursdays - WDCB - Well-polished performers!
Wonderful--perfect ambience. No rush and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
Bar service---wonderful signature cocktails
Dinner - apps/entree a hit! Tuna tartare, lobster/caviar deviled eggs, trout with an amazing hollandaise!
I was totally unimpressed by this restsurant. I was expecting more based on the glowing reviews. To start off the hostess barely said s word to us and looked as if she was mad at the world- totally unwelcoming! Secondly, the decor is atrocious! It is one thing when a restaurant simply does not try, but a totally different thing when they make s definite attempt at creating a look that just does not work. Adelle’s decor appeared to be attending an industrial theme but had mission style lighting fixtures and overall was cold feeling and dull. The food was abut better than average. The appetizer of pear and date bruschetta was soggy and the carrot soup was bland, but at least it was hot. The cuts of meat?chicken and pork) were both very tender and delicious. The service was the highlight of the experience. Our server was extremely friendly, attentive, and very accommodating to my special requests. Overall, the best part of the dinner was the service.
We have been going to Adelle's for years, beginning with their old location by Wheaton College. This visit was on New Years Eve and was our first truly disappointing visit. We had made a point to request a table where we could sit and hear the jazz duo . We waited twenty minutes but that didn't happen. Instead, we were seated in the far corner of the dining room by the emergency exit.
Service was just okay. Our server did not have much of a personality. Overall the food was very good (as usual). With drinks, we spent well over $400 (for four people). Other good restaurants offered their regular menu as well as a special NYE menu -- but there was no choice here, just the $85/person, prix fixe menu. We were disappointed.
We had a very nice meal and service was OK even though it was quite busy (Christmas Eve.) Unfortunately we were seated vey close to the entry and cold air filtering in was a drawback. I like the restaurant and we go regularly not only for special occasions.
Three of my friends and I dined at Adelle’s to celebrate two birthdays, they all had previously eaten their and this was my first time. The atmosphere was beautiful and festive for the Christmas holidays. The staff was super and food was delicious, they did not rush us in ordering so we had lots of time to talk over drinks before ordering appetizers and the main course. I definitely plan to be a return customer.
Have been going here for years and prior location. The last several times we have gone for dinner with friends the service seemed challenged, slow and confusing. Some meals were good others were poor. Just seems like Adell's is boring and not as interesting as it used to be. Cocktails and wine selections are still great. Bar and some appetizers are always enjoyable.
I'm just not going to miss going for dinner anymore. Too bad.
We have previously eaten at Adele’s multiple times, all good experiences. However, this one was different. Our server, although very nice, was not prepared to handle our table. We received the wrong drink, he did not know the menu, and and the bill came, it was wrong.
Relative to the food, several dishes lacked their historic flavor, they were bland.
We return to Adelle's about every other month. Have always been very pleased. On this occasion we had booked the reservation with redeemed points. When we got there, it was discovered I had booked it for the following Wed, not the Wed we were there. The restaurant honored the $50 redeemed points gift nevertheless. Service from everyone was exceptional. Menu, as always, creative and excellent tasting. We had a very enjoyable time on this hectic day before Thanksgiving.
Good quality American food, with several options for appetizers and main dishes, also offering daily specials. There were several options for red meat, poultry and fish. Both my husband and I had fish dinners, he the salmon and I the whitefish. Portions were sizable and the accompanying vegetables tasty and well seasoned.
Prices were reasonable.
Our server was efficient, engaging and knowledgeable of the menu offerings.
Sad to say that Adelle's did not meet our expectations. Our food was not properly prepared: the pot roast (!) and meat loaf were dry, and the schnitzel was severely overcooked and tough. The vegetable on each entree were unseasoned (it seemed) and were cooked in varying degrees of doneness. The prices were appropriate to the restaurant Adelle's aspires to be—not the one that it is. However, the staff was very friendly and mostly attentive. We would like to think that we came on an 'off night', but it seems our experience accords with many others. I doubt we will return.
My wife and I have dined at Adele's numerous times... and each time we experience a warm welcome from beginning until end. Service is top notch and the food is outstanding. The bar area is where we typically start the eveing having a cocktail and then proceeding into the dining room. The bar is lively and pour a extremely rewarding pour!
We've been here half a dozen times now and I can't rave enough about the atmosphere, service and food. If I had more time I would go once a week. The drink specials were delicious and food was amazing. Varies Salads, Risotto, Charcuterie & Cheese Plate, Steaks, Pork, Chicken were this experiences top choices for our table and all were prepared to perfection. Save room for desserts as they make some great ones. Special thank you to Marianne who has been our evening host (server) as she looks after us like royalty.
We had dinner here recently and ordered some of their specials:
The pear-date bruschetta-very good, a bit sweet
The butternut squash apple soup - very good, just the right consistency
Pan seared scallops with celery root purée and shittake mushrooms- very good, 2 perfectly seared large scallops
As well as some items off the regular menu.
Finished the meal with a chocolate mousse dessert-yummy.
Great night and great food!
Wonderful again! Talented chef and reasonable wine list highlighted with reserve selections. Starters include lobster wontons (sauce a bit too sweet may benefit from a savory component like mustard) and calamari shined. Pumpkin Soup was seasonal and creamy. The best seafood risotto ever! Fills up fast so reservations recommended. Great pre-show venue. I’ll say it again...really talented chef.
