Adele’s is fine, but dated. Interesting, traditional menu.
Really disappointed. Poor service. Mediocre food. Heard good things but the negative reviews tend to be correct based on our experience.
The food was delicious. I would highly recommend for a couple's date night or a group of people for some delicious food. What i would NOT recommend is going for a special event or early! We went for NYE. Our reservation was for 7:45...but we were not seated until 8:35. We had places to be afterwards and running this late was NOT ideal; however, we do realize that it's a set seating and there is nothing they can do about the tables before us. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before our server came to our table. Server asked if we needed drinks and my husband ordered a beer. Understanding that the bar was busy too, so that's not on the server, but what was frustrating was she dropped off the beer 10 minutes later and took off without even making eye contact. We had already had looked at the menu during our 45 minute wait at the bar so we knew what we wanted and were ready to order. Instead, she ran off and got the desserts for the table next to us, delivered them with her back to us, and off AGAIN for another 10 minutes. THREE tables were sat after us and all of them had their orders in before us. We waited 30 minutes, those other 3 tables all had their starters, and we STILL HADN'T ORDERED. All she had to do when she dropped off that drink was ask us if we were ready to order, but nothing. Another chance when she dropped off the desserts at the table next to us, but nothing. I used to be a server so i definitely was paying attention to how many servers there were vs the number of tables...there is NO REASON to have to wait that long ON TOP of being 45 minutes late to be seated. The food was delicious but we only saw her two more times. Once to check on us and once to order our desserts. She didn't even offer us coffee? I had to catch her in the dining room. When she dropped off the desserts, I was fairly certain she had forgotten them so I just asked her to please bring sugar with our coffees.
Arrived early and had a drink at the bar, great service. Seated promptly and next to the fireplace as requested. Dinner was a fixed menu, however we were able to switch our filets to the sides for the sirloin. Our main course was served hot. The food was fantastic and service was impeccable. Thanks Adele, we’ll return in the near future
My husband and I have wanted to dine at Adelle's for years now. While the ambiance and service were top-notch, the meal mostly fell short. We dined there on New Year's Eve and had the prix fixe menu. My husband had the lobster bisque (it was mediocre: a thinner broth than most bisques and the addition of chestnuts took away from the flavor) , the strip steak (cooked nicely; but while the quality of meat was not equivalent to Gibson's or Morton's, the price certainly was), and the key lime pie (mediocre). I had the grilled octopus (chewier than most octopus I've had, and no unique seasoning added; disappointing), the fish (I believe it was Chilean sea bass? Cooked nicely with a delicious sauce, but the parsnips on the side were bland), and the flourless chocolate cake (mediocre). My coffee and my husband's cappuccino were burnt. Unfortunately, the cost of the meal far (far, far) exceeded its worth.
Adelle’s is the best farm to table restaurant for miles around! Chef John is a true genius with innovation, flavors & flair. I cannot order risotto anywhere except Adelle’s because I am spoiled by the excellence at Adelle’s.
Simply superb. Truly a high tier restaurant that continually deserves accolades & praise.
Looking forward to going back in the summer to sit on that lovely patio. Good food, service and decor!!
Our waitress, Julie was wonderful. The food delicious. The temperature was very warm and it was a bit noisy.
Excellent waiter and food
A very disappointing Christmas Eve dinner. The dining room off the bar felt like a cafeteria and there were whipped potatoes like we had in our school days (and every bit as tasteless). The seafood risotto was drowning in sauce and pasty. Endless country Christmas music. Not what we were hoping for at all and we probably won’t be back.
High quality, delicious meals. Always served hot and with excellent presentation. Service is outstanding.
Very surprised by the poor service
Waitress was rushing and distracted..she was covering the entire back room by herself. Food was okay...Cesar salad was small for the price!! I asked for gluten free no croutons but the kitchen still put the crunchy onions on my salad. We’ve dined here before and always had a great experience...this was definitely sub par!
This restaurant has excellent fresh food. Two of us had the meatloaf which was excellent and we ordered sliders in the bar area. Service couldn’t of been better, what more would you want from a restaurant.
Quaint place to grab a bite after work with family or friends. Thursday's they play live jazz in the bar area.
Our server forgot about our table more then once. She was very knowledgeable but was never around when needed.
Attentive service. Excellent food. Overall very good dining experience. More expensive but worth it for the above.
This was our first visit, but it won’t be our last! Not only did we enjoy our delicious shareables, but found the craft beer and wine selections to be topnotch. The noise level was perfect for our conversation with a friend we hadn’t seen for several years.
Saturday night dinner with another couple. We had a table at the front of the dinning room and it was a little drafty when the front door opened. Otherwise, it was a pleasant meal with a very competent waitress. The food wasn’t anything special but it was a good meal.
A conversation friendly place to go with friends and have an excellent dinner.
As longtime diners at Adelle's, it had been many, many months since we had last dined there, and this visit was a real treat. Still under the same ownership, same chef, and staff. Not only did it feel like old home week, but their food is still outstanding. The menu and wine list has grown a bit, but many of our favorite items are still available. The golden and red beet salad was delicious as well as our entrees, not to forget the nice wine parring. While a distance for us to drive, we will certainly return soon!
Had the swordfish with the spinach and chip a fantastic combination. My wife loved her steak. Great experience for all.
It had been couple years since our visit. Too long. Food , service and atmosphere just perfect. Pleasant to be able to talk during meal even with full house
It was great. It’s consistently great! Without a doubt, this is our favorite restaurant.
If you are looking for a fabulous dinning experience, go here. The food, service, selection, and overall ambiance can’t be beat. Try the Panko crusted white fish with schrimp on top, the huge pork chop (enough to bring home) or the gorgeous baked chicken. The desserts are amazing too. This was our first time here and we will be back. Did I mention the cozy fireplace and pretty twinkling lights outside? Simply magical!
First time here, and it came on recommendation. You enter three place with a feeling of high expectations. The main dining area is dimly lite. We are shown to our table next to the fireplace. The first thing i noticed was the wait staff and supporting helpers was wearing t shirts. I thought this was a more upscale restaurant? Next the server approach our table very disinterested and right to the point of what we wanted. No mention of maybe some food to check out or a special cocktails to try. Next the food showed up, lacked seasoning and was under whelming. I had the hangar steak and my wife had the oven roast chicken. We had wine with dinner, bottle prices are extremely high and very few choices under $60. I found a by the glass for $10 or the bottle for $42. This made no sense to me because you normally get 4 glasses out of a bottle.
At the end of the day, the price of food and drink doesn't match the quality of service, food, and atmosphere. You would have a better experience at Ivys located around the corner.
Adelle's is one of our go-to restaurants. We brought friends who had never eaten and they were very impressed. Good value too!
First time to Adelle's and we will go back. Our server was excellent. The food delicious. No complaints.
All excellent...the waitress especially!
We have eaten here many times. This is the first poor meal...beef bourguignonne. The mushrooms were from the can. Could not taste the burgundy. We have had this entree in the past and it was excellent!! We will return but be more cautious in our food selection.
Amazing food and service! Great wine list. Thursday there is jazz in the bar area.
Very good food in a lovely setting; attentive service and conversation-friendly noise level. Reliable excellent choice in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Went for a birthday dinner with 6 women. Secured a large U-shaped booth and it was just perfect (could have fit a couple more easily). Was a bit surprised that the bill was large as it was (drinks are pretty pricey!) but all the food was great ... so worth it! Fish tacos were outstanding!
Food was well prepared, but a bit on the bland side. Service and ambiance very nice.
The taste, presentation, and quality of each dish was very good to excellent. Staff was attentive when needed and did not interrupt when my party was in the midst of conversation. The tables were set far enough apart for conversation to be private. One gentleman, who may have been the manager or owner, moved quietly through the restaurant ensuring order and cleanliness. The warm color of light wood walls tastefully decorated with abstract and Art Deco paintings was pleasing to the eye. Every facet was well done, except the hanger steak, which was cooked exactly as ordered to “between medium and medium rare”.
Friendly, helpful and unpretentiousness. The food is interesting, well presented and tasteful. The wine by the glass is interesting, not the usual restaurant fare. This was our second visit The asparagus tempura was something we’ve never had before but was perfectly cooked. Delicious. The Skuna Bay salmon was outstanding.
Tuesday nights at Adelle’s are the best kept secret. Mid week dinner with Friends, great food, awesome service and free corkage fee for bringing your own bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner. Make your reservation today.
Our server was great. She was attentive and made some good recommendations. The food was very good. I wasn't thrilled with the table, as we had a party of 5 and were stuck in a 4 person table, so it was cramped. It was also next to a window and cold. When we were seated the place was pretty empty so I'm not sure why we were placed where we were. I think they should look at valet parking as well. We will return.
Taco Tuesday! Delicious tacos, great ambience and attentive service plus....... the price is right. Our next outing will be on Hamburger Wednesday and then we’ll try Fried Chicken Thursday. Great food at a great price. We love it
Adelle's has been on our list to check out for some time. The food was just ok. I had the panic crusted white fish, fish was good but cubed potatoes and peas and carrots seemed to be of the frozen variety. My husband had the penne del mar, again just okay, sauce nothing special. Shared the peach crisp for dessert, crisp portion wasn't crisp, it was stale. Very disappointed wont be going back.
Everything was fine. We have eaten here before. The last time was about 2 years ago. Our experience was not very good then. We thought we would try it again. As I said everything was good. It’s just the menu was not very compelling. There were many items on it that were there 2 years ago. No changes. Not a lot of variety. The desserts were exceptionally uninspiring. It was not the exceptional experience we are used to at Adelles.
