Ada's - Tivoli Village
James Trees has done it again! First from Esther's Kitchen to Ada's this fantastic restaurant in Tivoli Village is a welcome sight after seeing so much turn over in Tivoli Village. From the professional staff to the fantastic food this is my new go to place for great food at a reasonable price. By the way you must try the cauliflower appetizer!
We picked this restaurant after chatting with a food critic at our casino he recommended it highly. I have to say the beer selection was mediocre. Pasta and pizza were excellent. But for a restaurant known for making its own ice cream we could not have been more disappointed in the ice cream! How can you make bad ice cream? Regular Ben & Jerry’s or Häagen-Dazs ice cream was clearly superior to any of their flavors. Nearby Chicago Pizza or Setabello way better.
Music a little loud, but food was wonderful. I’ll be back for sure.
Although we were looking forward to dining here, after not being able to get in the first time we tried, overall everything was mediocre, including the pizza and service. However, they have wonderful ice cream here, the best I ever had.
Homemade sourdough bread and homemade pasta dishes are divine! Wrapped up dinner with a delectable brownie (not over-the-top sweet, thank you!) and an Americano. Perfect ending!
The Server was very good!
The noise level was horrible, music was too loud for the size of the restaurant and the fact that it’s ALL solid surfaces sound bounced off of everything. Couldn’t hear the person seated across from me without having to yell.
Spending time with someone over dinner, you should be able to have a conversation.
Ada's is a casual and communal restaurant serving very good casual Italian food. There are some interesting and creative combinations for pastas, salads and pizzas. Wide array gin and Amaro. This was my third visit and service seems to be extremely casual and relaxed. For the most part food is quite good however there has been some missteps. Salted caramel ice cream was way too salty and one of the pasta dishes was still raw. True standouts are the bread service and pasta carbonara. Ice cream parlor had some enjoyable flavors as well.
Our waiter was very friendly, informative and pleasant. Food was delicious.
The food here always impresses is! We haven’t had a bad thing yet. And of course dessert is the best, we’ve tried all the flavors of ice cream.
Love the food. Delicious!!!
We enjoyed it. However the basic dishes were better then the fancy ones. Margarita pizza was excellent. The foei gras and duck pizza was not that good. The spaghetti was awesome but the clam pie was fishy and not that good. Also wine was a bit pricy. $48 for a bottle that probably cost $7. So overall, stick to basic, have a gelato instead of wine. And you will enjoy it tremendously. Great sour dough bread. Again, stick to basics and leave fancy at home.
Great curated menu with homemade pasta and bread to die for. Wonderful, unusual handcrafted cocktails. Outdoor seating on hard metal chairs, and staff apparently still working on timing of serving dishes (everything came at once) but will come back and hope for improvement.
The food is farm to table fresh and homemade pasta. The service is amazing (we had Lindsey)! The cocktails were lovely. Thank you!
Good experience overall. It was a bit more casual and smaller than we expected. The caprese salad and the bread were delicious. The Margherita pizza was a bit undercooked.
Food was excellent! Where is the hostess? Each time we’ve arrived, the hostess has been missing. Unfortunately, the staff has not been trained to welcome guests immediately, making eye contact, smiling & greeting with warm words. Instead, the guests are left standing in the entryway when they should be well on their way to the table they reserved through Open Table. Reservation was for 4:30pm. There were one or two tables being used. No excuse for not seating us immediately. Two different servers then came by the table, each unaware of the other. Servers need clear instructions on who has responsibility for each table. We enjoyed our dinner on the patio from 4:30 to 5:45. Unfortunately, the servers gathered in the back corner of the patio to listen to a manager give a briefing about expectations for the evening. This was disruptive for the relaxing dining experience we had anticipated. The place was practically empty when we left. Why did Open Table show no available reservation times between 4:30 and 8:30? Did Ada’s block out this time on a Saturday evening? Doesn’t make sense. There seems to be some hiccups. After returning home, we received an email from Open Table indicating Ada’s did NOT check us in for our reservation. This is sloppy. Operational details need fine tuning. Lovely restaurant, please pass along this constructive criticism. Would love to see Ada’s running seamlessly!
This is a SUPERB Italian spot!!!
The food is delicious, the wine selection is excellent, and the service is amazing.
All of their food items are made in-house, and you can tell. Every item we ordered is done so well. Their homemade sourdough loaf is incredible, the mushroom pizza is simple yet full of flavor. The squid ink pasta (special menu item) has a wonderful balance of salty and spicy. Their handmade gelato (we had 2 different flavors: coffee and pistachio) is creamy and velvety, PERFECT. My favorite item of the experience is their kale/mint salad. That is just WOW!!!! Delicious.
It was a busy night for Ada's, but the service NEVER skipped a beat. Our server, Tats, is so friendly, so personable, so attentive, and so knowledgeable about the food, that it made our dining experience that much more enjoyable. Shout out to Stephanie, their Maitre d'. She is so sweet and so smiley. Amazing service.
Will DEFINATELY be back. Ada's was recommend to me by a friend, and I will recommend Ada's to any and everyone.
Adas was a wonderful surprise. We chose to sit outdoors on the patio and it was a lovely evening. It is quite noisy inside because it’s a small place. Our server Eric was attentive and checked on us often enough to not be annoying. They were quite busy but all the staff seemed concerned that we were taken care of and happy. Everyone there worked as a team. The head chef came out and spoke to us as well. The food was outstanding. I had the buratta pizza which was wonderful and my husband had the roast chicken special which he said was the best chicken he ever had. And he’s picky! We had the fresh sourdough right from the oven to begin our dinner. We ended it with their fabulous ice cream. Definitely going back to this little gem.
Wonderful food, good drinks, friendly service. Had a taste of my son’s ice cream. Very good. Many people apparently come just for the ice cream.
This was the third or fourth time I’ve eaten at Ada’s and it has never disappointed. The pasta is always done perfectly with great flavor. Finish off the meal with terrific ice cream of unusual flavors. Great place to dine!
Delicious food & wine! Home-made sourdough bread is to die for! Bucatini was top-notch! Pinot Noir was divine!
The pesto pasta is my new favorite pasta dish in town. The homemade pasta is so fresh!
This is my 3rd visit and the food & service remains EXCEPTIONAL! Everything we try is delicious. Love Ada’s & will definitely be back.
Sat 30 minutes late, food was cleared before finished, felt rushed. Only thing that made up for it was given complicate sparkling wine from a sweet employee.
Jocelyn was wonderful, everything was great including the friendly guests at surrounding tables. Very pleasant experience
Great food. Pastas were all wonderful. I especially enjoyed the Rigatoni with short ribs. The olives were the biggest olive I have ever tasted. Food, and wines were delicious. The ice-cream is a must-have, too! Great experience.
Creative and delicious dishes with very attentive service! A true neighborhood gem.
Wonderful dining experience.
The noise level is almost unbearable. You can’t speak to the person next to you. And tables are way too small Food is excellent though!
We love Ada’s. Everything is fresh made and delicious. The homemade ice cream is so good! We want to try everything on the menu! 🙂
Exceptional Food and Good Service. However, the location is not big enough for clients. Ask for Awesome Eric or Chelsea.
We were a party of five. We had family visiting from out of town so we thought we would take them to a new resturant. Ada’s was highly recommended. We all enjoyed the food. The flavors stood out and were very satisfying. Our server was excellent. He gave us a little info/history on each item we ordered. The chef delivered our meals which gave it a special touch. This is definitely a favorite. I can’t wait to go back. The food was delicious the service was superb. The noise level was very loud. Would have enjoyed more if it wasn’t so loud. We are hoping next time we aren’t so full so we can indulge in their ice cream shop! Highly recommend!!
Noticed the help changes here quite a bit. Hostess was a young girl with no personality. She talked very low and was hard to hear. Not cut out for this job. We sit down. A guy comes over, never saying if he is a waiter. Rushes us to order. we say no, were in no hurry. Next thing a girl comes over, she is our waitress now. The guy left, end of his shift. This is not a place to dine and spend time. They rush you. I get pasta. They put it on a flat plate! I have dined at La Strega numerous times. Outstanding service, food and drink. Plus the Hostess comes by the table to talk and greet you. The Manager is around to see that everything is good with you. Here, you are just number. I would highly recommend La Strega with reservations to eat and enjoy.
Every item ordered was absolutely delightful. Our favorite dish of the night was the beet salad. Our server Jocelyn was very nice and attentive. We really regretted our table however. Corner table by the server’s register terminal was pretty terrible. Every time a server went to type in their order our dinner was interrupted. A pitcher of water was even spilled on us. It really killed the mood. If the table is offered to you in the future, we advise you to pass and wait for another.
Food and service were amazing. Dining area is a bit loud. But the food and service negate that. Five stars for Jocelyn!!
Everything was great from the bread and butter, to the peach salad, the beet & cheese salad was to die for!
Impeccable food, a bit pricey but well worth experiencing such great work. The space is casual with high ceilings, be prepared for sitting close together and high noise level if busy. Still worth it for the food.
Outstanding Food that is innovative and fantastic service. However, the place is exceptionally small and if there is a rain shower outside must come in leaving no place for customers and servers!
Why do noise complaints continue to fall on deaf ears of restaurant owners and designers?
The food and service at Ada's and Esther's is not the issue as both are wonderful. Regardless of a patron's age, no one wants to not be able to carry on a conversation with their dining companions. This issue is not limited to these properties; articles have been written in publications across the country about the cacophony that assails diners within the high ceiling, industrial bent design.
This evening, my companion and I walked out within minutes of being seated as we knew that a conversation, held at reasonable volume, was not to be had.
