The menu and the food itself was incredible. I definitely will be back.
The window seat, noise level, service and taste of dolemades and Greek chicken wraps was really nice for our lunch date and we had plenty of food.
With a reservation it took over 40 minutes to be seated. It’s just really poor management for reservations. I go here all the time. My friend’s meal was cold. It just took forever. We wanted to be out by 2:30, didn’t end up leaving till almost 4 for a 1:30 reservation. There wasn’t even an apology.
I’ve visiting on many occasions and it’s always a pleasant experience. Brunch is always consistently tasty and quick. They have a nice lunch menu with wraps, sandwiches and Greek fare. This was our first dinner visit. This was the first time We looked over the specialty drink menu and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed several Moscow miles over dinner. For dinner I ordered the cod with one other and the third ordered the salmon. We all enjoyed our food. Again, I usually stick to the Greek fare, and was pleasantly suprised by the lemon flavors of the fish. Highly recommend. Atmosphere was energetic with the sabres game on, but not too loud or crowded that we couldn’t have a comfortable conversation at the dinner table.
Good food, great service.
Previous ambiance was much better
Restaurant looks like it needs repair
Upstairs lighting too bright walls damaged from chairs
Not a place for any kind of intimate or date type dining
Food was ok but the ambiance was a turn off
The food at Acropolis is always great. We ordered the warmed grape leaves and tatziki sauce with pita for appetizers. For lunch I ordered the quinoa salad with falafel. The veggies were fresh and overall the dinner was delicious. My husband ordered the chicken salad and croissant and he enjoyed it as well. When we arrived, we waited over 10 minutes for the hostess to finally seat us. This could have been because the bar was busy because there was a bills game on. Once we were seated our server was excellent.
I was so excited to take my wife on a date. It is been a number of years since I've been to the Acropolis. Probably around 3. I remember a tremendous beer selection, excellent spanakopita and unique service people. I was so disappointed it was unbelievable. Our waitress could not be bothered, the beer was flat, and the pastry was hard on the spanakopita. All I can say is what happened to the Acropolis? This restaurant is a shadow of what it used to be in my opinion.$80 for appetizers and a couple of glasses of beer one of which was flat? In fairness I have to say they did replace that glass of beer with a new one, not the one I wanted, but a new one. For me and mine? Never again.
When I reserved my table, I was asked if I wanted anything extra. Well I was hoping for at least a secluded table with a table cloth and maybe a flower in the middle. I did request a romantic setting. I was given a small table, in between two bigger tables. I did not like the setting, as I seen a spot that would have been better! I was very upset about this!
We went here for a quick bite before going to Kleinhans. Parking was challenging but everything else was perfect. Super surprised about how delicious everything was and we lucked into 50% off a bottle of wine and our appetizers. Thanks to our server, Carly, we had a wonderful meal!
Ambiance decent. Food ok but nothing special. Service very good. Music too loud but probablytrying attract a drinking young crowd. I just wanted a reasonably priced quick meal
The service was excellent. All of the food was very tasty. The drinks were also good. Everything was wonderful.
Great food! Reservations for 3 but we ended up with 9 people total. The staff said no problem and quickly changed the table to accommodate my family and took great care of us. Would definitely go back!
WE HAVE HAD MANY DELICIOUS MEALS AT THIS RESTAURANT. MEAL WAS EXCELLENT. DEEP FRY OIL NEEDS TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE THE DESSERT (GREEK DOUGHNUTS) TASTED LIKE OLD OIL AND SPOILED THE DELICIOUS DOUGHNUTS. OTHERWISE, OUR MEALS WERE VERY GOOD AND VERY GREEK. I WILL COME AGAIN TO HAVE A TASTE OF GREECE.
My reservation was accepted and when we drove a considerable amount out of our way to go there it was closed.
After finding the downstairs too dark (and a bit noisy, although the hostess was willing to lower the volume of the music), we went upstairs and sat on their front porch. The setting was wonderful, Carly, our server was excellent and the food was fanstastic.
Great Greek food! My boyfriend is Greek, we have had out fair share of Greek food. We both agreed the food we had here was by far the best other than the food we had in Greece. We had the trip dip, calamari, and Gyro entree. The service was awesome! Also the watermelon squeeze drink was great!
Thanks!
Everytime we come here its excellent. Food is always fresh and made in house. Love!!
Awesome service, great food, yes the Greeks invented everything, even lasagna!
We went for restaurant week. The choice of $20.16 specials was great (veggie pasta, steak dish, lamb chops). We also enjoyed the bottle of $16.00 Greek wine. Even though it was busy, our waiter was attentive and our order arrived in a very timely fashion. All in all we enjoyed our experience and would return when the urge for Greek food arises.
ACROPOLIS VIEW (on Fri., 4-15-2016 - 'Restaurant Week'):
My group enjoyed our various selections, presentations and tastes. The artichoke appetizer was exquisite! ! ! The best I've ever tasted. The pita was fresh, nicely grilled and served warm. The red snapper was flaky and delicious! Asparagus was picture perfect, tender and a nice vegetable compliment to the red snapper entre. Dessert selections were perfect -- especially the unique blood orange sherbert. We are all looking forward to dining at the 'Acropolis' again. Next time we'll come for brunch. 'THE ACROPOLIS' IS DEFINITELY A GOTO HOT SPOT! REQUEST THE SPINACH ARTICHOKE BE ADDED TO THE MENU. I tried to pay for a take-out order to go along with my leftovers but was told it is not a menu item, no price associated with it and therefore could not accommodate me. In view of being 'Restaurant Week', the restaurant became very busy. I didn't want to inconvenience the owner by requesting an accommodation. So I decided to make my request known at a more opportune time. Therefore, I now implore this fantastic dip be added to the menu. I know other patrons would appreciate this delectable and satisfying appetizer. It would make a good bar appetizer too. PLEASE ADD THE SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP TO YOUR APPETIZER MENU! 😉
We went to Acropolis for my boyfriends birthday dinner. Our server was AMAZING - very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu- we really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely return
Finally, good taramasalata in Buffalo! Creamy with the wonderful brine flavor from the roe, this tarma is the reason I come to Acropolis. Oh, and the Domaine Sigalas Assyrtiko (a great value for a delicious, dry white wine). As long as OPA has these two items on the menu, I'll keep coming.
Having not visited Acropolis in awhile, I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements to the inside, more TV's (not too loud to intrude), some sound softening drapes and a nice muted decorating style. The food was a bit more traditionally Greek and still just as good. I will be back again.
I went to Acropolis OPA and ordered the chicken Souvlaki. The service was average and the restaurant look nice. I did not enjoy my entree. I've had chicken souvlaki at a handful of Greek restaurants in Buffalo, and this was my least favorite ever. Individually, every component of the dish wasn't good either, down to the type of lettuce used (it was fresh though). The chicken looked good but was lacking strong flavor I've had in most chicken souvlakis.
This was an elegant and relaxing restaurant with a robust menu and friendly wait staff. There were many fine drink options, and the food was all outstanding. The restaurant was perfectly willing to make accommodations for preferences, such as providing all toppings on the side. The atmosphere was classy without being overly upscale.
I frequent Acropolis. The food is consistently fantastic, the service is greats (the staff is really friendly and engaging) and the menu has a really good selection.
Accommodation to specific diet restrictions were made. Food and service was excellent. I will definitely return.
Food was better than expected. Typical Greek type menu. Service was pretty good but other service staff interaction was a bit unprofessional. Beer was great, and atmosphere was pretty nice. I would go again if I happened to be in the area and was looking for a decently priced decent lunch. Nothing mind boggling but that isn't the intention here.
Bad service, good food.
