It was a good place to celebrate my birthday with my family. We had a great time.
Great food and atmosphere. Love the Saganaki, we get it every single time. Weekends are great with the belly dancer and live music.
Throwing paper napkins that landed in our food and stuck to our shoes was soooo appealing!!!
We visited the restaurant with our daughter and two twin 12 year old grandchildren. The service was very slow but the food was very good. I especially enjoyed the lamb chops - lots of meat, little fat and a reasonable price. I’d go back there just for those
Amazing Greek food. Our waiter was a little slow but overall good service
15 minutes to get drinks another 30 for our food apps and entrees came at the same time apps were piping hot while entres were just warm and sides were cold
Love the atmosphere and wonderful service
Portions were very small for the price and food just wasn’t that great
Everything was delish and the waitstaff amazing. Pricing was really good $10 for Hookah during happy hour!!!! Can not beat that!
We arrived and welcomed. I stated that we had a reservation but the hostess did not ask my name just escorted us to a table inside. I had requested an outdoor table but didn't correct her.
Our server greeted us immediately, took our drink order and asked if we wanted to start with an appetizer. I said we needed a few minutes. She returned with our drinks and we placed our order. The food was served in a timely manner & everything was delicious and fresh. I had eaten at another location before (Ybor City) and this one was just as good. Our service was excellent and timely. Will recommend and return!!
Overall great experience. We asked for bread 3 times. Our waitress told us no problem. We never got it. Our food came so we gave up. Otherwise, no complaints.
The food was outstanding. We loved the atmosphere in general but the music was too loud. We almost did not stay. We asked our waitress if anyone had mentioned that the music was too loud. She said no but asked if we wanted her to ask for the music to be turned down. The music was turned down but it really was still too loud. We could not enjoy conversation with the 4 of us at the table. It was the first time the 4 family had been together this year (student home from College) and unfortunately, we could not really converse.
I have been an Acropolis fan since I first went to the Ybor City location, but this one is closer so I go more often. Previously, everything has been great - service and food. Last Sunday we were celebrating a birthday with brunch. They were short-staffed, the order took forever to reach our table and the cook left off part of the recipe! We had to ask for every little thing and our party was extremely patient and nice, yet I may call ahead next time to make sure they have staff to cover the restaurant. Very disappointing.
We were greeted with "Oh you made your reservation on OpenTable. It will be around 20 minutes before we can get you a table!" Only after complaining about the wait did they seat us at one of several open tables. Noise level was horrendous. Had to almost yell to the person sitting directly across from me to hear. My gyro meat was delicious but pita bread tasted amazingly stale. Chicken over cooked and pastini (sp) was average. Salad was good.
Use to enjoy going there a lot. They value on food and recipes have changed. Missing flavor — portions are a lot smaller then before. Great on happy hour, delicious drinks.
Good food,friendly service,friendly atmosphere
Try the flaming feta cheese and Greek salad!
Acropolis Greek Taverna is a real neighborhood gem. As many restaurants close on Sunday, this is always a good choice for dinner. The food is well prepared, and the chefs are sensitive to patron allergies. The waitstaff is terrific- very upbeat and energetic! I especially like the rolled eggplant and feta appetizer (huge, by the way!) and the lamb chops are fantastic. All the salads are wonderful, which makes choosing a challenge!
Celebrating Xmas dinner with my BFF's. Had a great time.
What a fun birthday brunch at Acropolis! Really serious bloody Mary's were followed with delicious Greek omelets. Then as a surprise, our table was surrounded by wait staff singing the Greek version of Happy Birthday, then an "oopa" toast and a scattering of white napkins showered down on us!!! Better than breaking plates, as they do in Greece. Good food and fun!
The grilled octopus was mushy and had a bad taste. Most of the dishes had too much salt. The service was good and they took the octopus dish back and did not charge us. Maybe it was just an off night.
We were a group of 5 in Tampa for business. The Acropolis Greek Taverna was absolutely the best restaurant we dined at during the week we spent in town. Our server was absolutely the best ever, the food delicious, and the Zorba vibe was definitely enjoyable! Try it out, you won' go wrong!
Good food but the noise level is terrible. They really need to turn the music down and the throwing of napkins is annoying.
It was very loud and difficult to talk and hear the conversation. We did eat outside thinking it wouldn't be as loud but it was.
