    Paying homage to Oakland history-about 100 years ago there was a lounge and club called the VARSITY LOUNGE located in our same location, who knew! In digging up old Oakland memorabilia, we found an old menu. To our surprise-they were well known for two things the Varsity Martini and Conga Lines!! While we aren’t ready for a conga, we are ready for the Varsity Martini and other drink specials. Come join us every day from 4pm-6pm in our cafe and 5pm-6pm at our upstairs bar.

    A very satisfying and surprisingly marvelous lunch. I would highly recommend this former Oliveto, in spite of the restaurant name. Acre reminds me of cows grazing in the pasture or cotton growing in a field. Not at all reminiscent of the wonder lunch I had at the windows overlooking College Ave.

    I was surprised the menu was more Cafe-like than Restaurant-like. Pizzas and pastas just like downstairs. Only 5-6 entrè choices and you can get Chicken and grilled salmon anywhere. Good N/A beer selection. Noisier than I remembered. Not sure if they are using the Meyer Constellation system.

    If you haven’t caught up in a while and want a more intimate conversation, the acoustics “upstairs” are designed for you. If you want a fun atmosphere with lots of stimulation, the downstairs cafe is perfect. It’s an amazing place…go there!

    Came tonight to celebrate a long time friends birthday. They greeted her with a card! Food was fantastic. Service superb. Very cozy pretty space. We can’t wait to return!!

    First time there. The food and drink were great. We tried to cheer up our server a little bit! :-)

    Was noisy, and inattentive service, but probably because there was a street fair going on right around the parklet, so definitely a skewed sample. Food was a split- one great entree (eggs in purgatory), and one kind of fair (champagne omelette). Would go back again.
