Authentic Italian food. The whole branzino was amazing, good pizza, outstanding fettuccine bolognese and excellent ratio quality/price.
To improve the wine list selection in particular for the sparkling/champagne.
Such a cute place that is great for any occasion
Neighborhood gem. Always good food and great service.
Outstanding in every way. Food, service, ambiance all outstanding! Looking forward to our next visit!
An excellent choice, reminds me of the quality and service of good old New York before it was diluted with tourism.
We live in California and came to visit our daughters who live in NYC, the staff and the owner (or general manager), made us feel at home in tune with the special moment that it was.
Food was excellent as well as the wine selection.
An overall very pleasant moment, it is a very well run establishment.
Nothing but amazing. I can't wait to come back very soon.
Food was raw and the sauteed vegetables were gritty with sand. The waitress was very nice.
Such a beautiful restaurant! The service was friendly and the ambiance is just lovely - it has that romantic Italian feel but still very laid-back. Food was good but not jaw-dropping - I had the gnocchi del giorno and the gnocchi itself was *perfect* but the gorgonzola sauce was overpowering (even as a gorgonzola fan). My friend had the spaghettoni with lobster and the lobster was a bit overcooked. Nonetheless I would totally come back here - it's just such a lovely relaxing place!
Better than I imagined! The staff is just good as the food. They made you feel at home. My friends and I had so much fun. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. You need this place as a beautiful memory that you can visit afain and again. Cannot wait to bring my other friends. Thank you for coming over and chatting with us. I know you were so busy. Ciao
This is a lovely small place in the Financial/South Seaport District, with great food and good service. I was there for dinner with friends and colleagues. My one complaint would be the noise level. Why do New Yorkers equate ‘loud’ with ‘energetic’ or ‘au courrant.”? When full, the restaurant is ‘loud.'
The fish was fantastic, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside! It would be great if they invest in a larger selection of organic wines, but other than that, fantastic food experience.
Great food and service
Very loud - couldn’t hear across the table
Perfectly cooked salmon!
A little noisy, but that also contributed to the liveliness of the place. Waiters, maitre d’ and other workers all attentive but not overly solicitous. Very enjoyable evening.
In a word: Divino!
Great service. The owner is on site! great food. Our favorite local place
Loved the food here. First place that took me back to Italy. Warm ambience, excellent service. Would definitely come back
Neighborhood gem. Delicious Italian food. Fairly easy to get a table. Nice selection of Italian wines. Owner Giuseppe is an energetic, fun guy. My girlfriend and I really enjoy this place.
Always a great experience eat at acquaa
Went for Valentine’s Day had a great pre fixed menu which was delicious. The welcome plate was a very nice touch and a delicious way to start the meal
Pre fix menu, great service
Acqua is top notch in quality, hospitality and homemade southern Italian fare. The staff makes you feel like family, and the food makes you sing. Many thanks to the generous staff and owner for always making us full in our stomach and hearts. Grazie mille!
Wonderful service, fantastic food and the location is gorgeous.
Seafoods stew was delicious and full of flavor. Hoped they could put more seafoods to fill my appetite.
Good restaurant, nothing special. Valentine’s Day menu was average mostly because of dessert: lamb chops were more boiled than grilled, dessert was awful - the cheapest possible version for the fixed price menu. The carpaccio, staffed rag plants and risotto were very good. Waiters were excellent!!
Fabulous! Neighborhood gem!
Acqua's had a new wait staff, and a slightly revemped menu. I had the linguini with mussels in white wine/butter/garlic sauce. Fantastic!
This is still one of my fav NYC restaurants. I highly recommend it!
In the city for work and had dinner here with a co-worker. Bread service included bread sticks, small slices of Italian bread and lentils in olive oil. Delicious. I started with a very nicely balanced salad of arugula, avocado and tomato. My co-worker asked for a hybrid of two of the salads on the menu and our waiter (and the kitchen) was very obliging. I had linguini with clams for my entree. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and served over a bed of small clams in their shells. My co-worker enjoyed the trio of gelato for dessert. Service was friendly and unhurried. I would definitely return again to try some additional items on the menu.
The octopus was superb. The Primitivo was delicious. The atmosphere was elegant, rustic and perfect. The service was warm and refined. We will be back.
The chef did it again! Such a great food! Baby Octopus Stew was amazing! Great to have in winter and should be a regular menu. Pasta special is always good. As soon as I leave this restaurant, I'm looking forward to the next visit.
It was easy to get a reservation ( not summer tourist season), good wine for a decent price, fresh fish and pasta were enjoyed by all. Service was excellent.
Good menu for lunch. Maybe a bit too much food. The cheese & meat platter was good and the pollo was great. The last time I ate there the cheese & meat was different (& better), so I would like to see a consistency there. BUT, Livia the server was amazing with a great personality. I watched her deal with a difficult table with grace. She had another table that was over the top and catered to them perfectly. She knows how to read her tables!
Food and service were phenomenal. My native Italian husband was blown away by the quality of the dishes. Thrilled to see a restaurant of this caliber in the Seaport!
1st time in NYC and our hotel staff recommended it for great Italian food. We were not disappointed: fantastic food, attentive staff and historic atmosphere! Would go back in a heartbeat. If we lived here, this would be our neighborhood spot. Don't forget the cannolis!
We had an excellent meal at Acqua. The location was wonderful in a very quiet section of the Lower East side near the Brooklyn Bridge which mad for some great pictures. We enjoyed the food very much and the owner/chef Guiseppe came out and visited with us and that was delightful. Our service was excellent they were very acommodating to all of our needs. Good wine list. I give them five stars!! Loved the ambience of the place.
It was great, good service, good food. Great neighborhood restaurant
We come to this restaurant all the time and I'm running out of words to praise. The food is so good since new chef took over and has never disapinted every time we dine. The chef is always creating different dishes so specials are highly recommended. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Just love this place!!
Best Italian family restaurant in lower Manhattan. Bravo Giuseppe for your talent and hospitality. A superb place for lunch or a special dinner with homemade
Pizzas, pastas and gorgeous fresh seafood. Wow!
Absolutely delicious and authentic Italian food. The waiter and owner were wonderful. Looking forward to returning.
The staff was extremely attentive and courteous! The owner and manager were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home! It was a true Italian experience and the meal was delicious! I would highly recommend to family and friends!
What a gem! The food was excellent, and the staff was very attentive. They made my birthday celebration very special. Great discovery, and we will be back when we next visit NYC!
