Brunch in Forest Lake does not get better. Choices for everyone with beautiful surroundings on the lake with abundant glass to enjoy early spring sunshine. Friendly service. Nice cocktail menu.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities!
For our anniversary, we wanted somewhere special to go. Acqua is always that place. Beautiful view from the dining room. They never make you feel rushed. To start things off, the mint and jalapeño margarita was perfection... followed by an Italian mojita... making for a great happy hour. Our meals were something to write home to Mom about... prime rib was as tender as it gets for the husband and my ahi tuna appetizer and beet salad with fried goat cheese were to die for. Always a pleasurable experience. Can’t wait for the next time!
Food was fantastic as it should be. Pricey but the food was to die for, steak was of very high quality and the lobster was the best I ever tasted.
We went here for a dinner with 6 adults, first meeting in the bar for a cocktail. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and the waiter was very knowledgable and friendly. One person in our party (me) has celiac disease and needs to avoid gluten and the waiter also knew all about that and stated that just about anything on the menu could be prepared GF. I ate the prime rib and parmesan risotto (both very delicious) and had no reaction. The setting is very nice, as it looks out over Forest Lake, although I think it would be much better in the summer. The one sour note was that they have complimentary valet and that was great until the next day when we noticed a few new dings/scratches on our car that we hadn't noticed before...we don't know for certain that this was from the valet, but just something to keep in mind. Other than that though it was a wonderful evening!
What an outstanding restaurant out in the middle of no where (I guess the locals know where it is). Food was absolutely outstanding. Our server was darling, friendly, funny and all around outstanding. But the most amazing thing was the price. I would have paid 2-3 times my bill in my home town of Charleston, SC. What a hidden gem. Hope I get to return some day!
My husband & I were drivers for kids going to prom so we had two reservations. One for the kids and one for us. Food wonderful as always. It was a bit louder thAn. normal as there were lots of prom goers there for dinner. Prom was cancelled due to snowstorm but the kids had a lovely dinner!
This is our go to restaurant when we can get our whole family together. They happily accommodate vegan requests. The view is amazing, the restaurant is just stunning and the staff are very friendly. The food is delicious, we have loved everything we’ve ordered. We are so happy Acqua is located in our little suburb. It’s a great addition to Forest Lake!
Acqua was a great place to celebrate my birthday. The food was outstanding and the service was stellar.
Great food and service! How about more steak choices and speciality pastas? Local wines would be nice too!
Everything was exceptional!! The food, Osso buco and walleye, the service, the ambiance!!
The food doesn't seem as fresh as it did a couple years ago.
Too loud. Marginal food. Service fine
It's time to update the menu. Overall the food is ok but there needs to more and/or additional items to chose from. Bread was over baked almost to the point of crouton like. Prime was cooked well not no au jus or seasoning other than the oversalted outside. Chicken Marsala was good. Desserts are good. Very loud. Hard to have a normal converdation.
Best server ever!

I cannot say enough great things about ACQUA... the chefs are incredibly talented and the entire group of restaurants that they own are fantastic (3 locations of Meet Market, Pi Pizza in Forest Lake, Mizu in WBL, and both Acqua locations in FL and WBL). We had the tasting menu which you can substitute anything on the menu in for the entree (for an upcharge). I had the special which was a crab crusted halibut. It was GF and the best meal that I've eaten in a long time! They even brought a special GF bread board. The others at the table had Chicken Marsala, Pork Shank (fall off the bone and cooked in a sherry), Lobster, Shrimp Scampi and blackened walleye. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience. Over the top food, impeccable service and adorable ambiance in a cape cod style venue.
Fantastic food. Great setting for an upscale restaurant. Can't wait to go back!
Always a great experience!
All 3 of us had the salt crusted prime rib. My mistake as far as it being too salty (its called salt crusted) dah!
chefs mistake way too rare. i ordered medium. My daughter and her husband ordered med rare.
Mine was rare compared to theirs. I only ate the outside edges. (a little paranoid about sending food back)
You have a nice atmosphere
Special thanks to the young man who took care of the tables (asked for butter he was johnny on the spot) Nice young man
My grand Daughter had the chicken strips. She Hates everything, I thought they were good
Family brunch just because it's fun and Acqua is my favorite restaurant in the entire Twin Cities. I'm so very happy that Sunday Brunch buffet is back!!
Everything was fabulous! Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Was disappointed; presentation has deteriorated since our previous visits. Wife ordered the fried walleye, fish was great but it was served with mashed potatoes instead of any alternative like fries. No veggie side dish or coleslaw. I ordered the ribeye large (18 oz); it appeared to be the same size as his - which was a small (10 oz). Ribeyes were seasoned well but had no "crust". This too was served only with a HUGE pile of mashed potatoes, no side veggie like a few sprigs of asparagus. No alternatives on menu, if you wanted fish you got mashed potatoes, if you ordered ribeye you go mashed potatoes. When I dine out - especially at a beautiful place like this I expect choices.
The food was exquisite and exceptionally presented. The drinks were very good and well priced. Loved the Valet parking since the parking space was quite limited. Service was very good, wonderful waitress and extended staff. Would definitely go back again. My husband thought the Walleye filet was kind of small though for the price.
An amazing dining experience ... from the ambience to the food to the service!
As always everything was excellent. The salt crusted prime rib is the best we've ever tasted.
We usually split the largest cut and still have leftovers for breakfast the next day.
This time we also added a lobster tail, perfectly prepared. Always a joy visiting Acqua.
That was one of the best prime rib dinners I've had. It was just the way I like it, medium-rare, tender and juicy throughout, salted on the outside, and soft fatty chunks in a couple places. The red potatoes that came with it were ok. They helped soak up the juices. My wife's mashed sweet potatoes were better. Oh, and the Elderflower martinis were very good too.
I brought guest they're the last two Wednesdays in a row, the food both days was absolutely amazing our service was horrible. As soon as you mentioned you had a Groupon the waitress was completely disgruntled. I thought the first time was just a bad night for the waitress but it happened again the second time. We're still paying $30 a meal plus our drinks it's not like we're getting it for free. And I do tip on the full value of the meal not what I paid for the Groupon. I spoke with multiple people who had the same experience with the staff. Very disappointing.
The food and service were very good. However in the area we were seated, it was overly lit because we were actually in an area used by staff to get back and forth. The main part of the dining room was very nice and not overly lit. Our area actually ruined the ambience of the restaurant. Better to sit in the bar than along the wall.
Simply delicious, We used a Groupon, dinner for four, and had a great time! We will go back again it was so worth the drive from Maple Grove. We're looking forward to dinner on the patio come summer.
We have gone several times. We have never been disappointed. The fish, any dish, is fantastic. The cocktails are wonderful, unique.
We love going to this place on date night. It is our favorite place.
Love their food, drinks and service at the Forest Lake Acqua. Always great!
Acqua in Forest Lakes is one of our favorite restaurants. It is downtown dining without the drive or the prices!!! The chef is exceptional, the food presentation is beautiful, the tastes and creativity is delicious without being too outrageous, the portions are nice and the service has always been impeccable.
Oh, by the way, it would be worth the drive from downtown to Forest Lake to experience this dining!
Price does not match with quality. Would be interested in trying again. Maybe find something else I enjoy.
This is our 3rd trip to Acqua and we would still go back again! Very gluten free friendly. Great service, great food. The only reason I gave 4 starts was this time our waitress got super deflated as soon as we mentioned our Groupon and there were a couple of small mix ups with my food (gluten free) Last time we had no issue and the waitress even asked if we were using the Groupon. She still treated us like we were royalty and was super conscientious of my gluten free requests. Overall, I would not hesitate to go back!
They made our 30th anniversary very special. My friend from out of state ordered champagne etc and manager and staff executed her surprised eloquently—made our evening spectacular
Would prefer scallops served broiled/baked. Too many ingredients mixed together and seasoning overpowered dish. Cesar salad was dressed heavily and although dressing had good flavor, salad not crisp or fresh. Service was excellent.
Great place on Forest Lake. Food was excellent, well prepared to our liking. Waite staff was very attentive and very effective. The only complaint was the background music - Duran Duran's "Hungry Like A Wolf" didn't quite make it for me. Other than that I would go there again and recommend it to others.
Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. Great fun!!!
The service was very good as was the food. The price is very high for amount of food you get. Salads are extra $10-$14 and i've had better prime rib for alot less money elsewhere. We were there for Valentine's Day and used a gift card.
