Acqua E' Farina
Dinner: Sunday - Thursday: 4:00pm - 9:00pm, Friday - Saturday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm
I have been here quite a few times, and it never disappoints. The food is always excellent. The waitstaff are always very nice and personable. I highly recommend this place!
We love Acqua E' Farina and its food. However, this time around I loved the food but not the ambiance. I always brag about how amazing this place is and how amazing the food is too. I invited my boss, her husband and another couple to join us for a dinner celebration and there was what we thought was some company holiday party. It was very loud, so loud we couldn't hear the specials of the day. Our wonderful waitress had to practically yell it to us. I asked to be moved to the other side of the restaurant and we were moved to the opposite corner of the same room. It helped a little but it was definitely my least favorite time at Acqua E' Farina. I enjoyed the food but not as much as I usually do. We even skipped dessert, which I love to order and enjoy. Maybe that whole room should be reserved for that kind of big parties so other patrons can enjoy of a nice, relaxing, quiet and sometimes romantic dinner.
I love this place. The food was exquisite, wine very good and my favorite desert tartufo
out of this world. Greatly recommended.
Always good foof
Food was good and authentic. If you are looking for a modern Italian inspired food this is not the place. The staff were polite and attentive. The environment could be improved by somehow bringing in the Italian cooking aromas.
Food was good. Excellent ambiance.
Everything was excellent. I would have preferred a bit lighter serving of sauces.
Thank you! We will be back!
The service is usually always so great! And the food is wonderful. Was catching up with an old friend and it was just delightful
Pleasantly surprised! Took parents there for their birthdays. They both received a small dish of the best vanilla ice cream I have ever had. Food was delicious!!! Great staff, very attentive!
GREAT food, always courteous service
Bread is amazing. Food is just ok. Maybe we didn’t order the right things.
Thanksgiving was stress-free since we decided to eat out. We chose Italian because hardly go to an Italian place when dining out. The food was good, service was attentive, and food delivery was quick. I'm sure there's some pre-preparation but it was fine with us!
Met with friends for Thanksgiving. First time dining at this restaurant; food good, service good. Will recommend to other friends.
We ordered the ravioli, fettucine, and salmon and a glass of moscato. They were all good. Salmon was probably the best one. We ordered cappucino and chocolate gelato from the dessert menu as well which were delicious. Definitely coming back here again.
Nice little spot in downtown Hayward to take a group or someone special. Food was decent and service was great, nothing to complain about.
Acqua e Farina is hands down our favorite restaurant in Hayward! You will not be disappointed.
Food quality is generally very good. Service is very friendly and very accommodating.
Good food. Good service. Great time. Nice place
Food was great! The service was excellent. Great place to celebrate a birthday or two.
Dinner was awesome; however, the waitress gave me someone else’s leftovers/ doggie bag- I was bummed... ‘almost’ a perfect dining experience.
When I go back, I’ll make sure to double check the to-go container as the waitress delivers it to the table since the wait staff loses track of which left overs belong to right customer.
We were surprised by how large the restaurant was. It had several rooms. Our favorite had many murals of Italy. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive but not overbearing.
Four of us tried this restaurant for the first time on a friend's recommendation. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, all having different selections. The servings were generous, the price reasonable, and we had excellent service.
nice! fun. cool.
The restaurant was not full but we were seated at the farther room next to an exit door that had a breeze coming through. There were plenty of other tables in the room and other rooms. The lights in our room would blink off every 5-10 min. Electrical issues in that room. It was a slightly disturbing.
Appetizer was great. Main course was warm when it arrived. The sauce had dried onto the noodles. Desert hit the spot.
Our waitress was helpful with ordering.
Excellent food and service. They consistently deliver high quality authentic Italian food. It is definitely one of the best in the east bay if not the bay area. It's very close to San Leandro, surprisingly for all of the Italians in SL there's not a decent Italian restaurant there but this is about a 10min drive so worth the trip, even from Oakland. If I had a critique, it would be to offer more variety on the specials on a more consistent basis to change it up a bit.
This is our go to restaurant in Hayward. It's about the food! I've taken many business colleagues and visitors to this local gem and everyone comes away raving about the great food and planning their return visit. Casual ambiance and friendly attentive service. Wine list, in addition to California wines, has an outstanding selection of Italian wines with a wide range of prices - highly rated brunellos, great value barolos to very reasonable chiantis - no problem finding wines to impress or just enjoy. Veal dishes are outstanding, the kitchen made five of us veal piccata (not on menu) and everyone cleaned their plates. Chicken piccata is on the menu. The polenta served as a side dish with dinner is a special treat - perfect creamy texture that is a reason enough to dine there! Lasagna is like Grandma made, grilled salmon another favorite, as is the pollo carciofi (chicken with artichoke). Other great pasta choices and daily specials. Menu items are so good I rarely get the special although my guests have enjoyed the various seafood pasta specials. Good choices for vegetarians with pasta dishes. Deserts are hard to resist and hard to choose between; my favorite is the light panna cotta but my guests rave about tartufo di limoncello - very special. Foodies from Boston think it's the best dessert ever so you won't go wrong. Main dining room is a painted street scene, very fun & unique, although can get noisy during busy periods. I requested a quieter table for 8 and was seated in quiet alternate dining room. Full bar. Limited street parking with a couple small public lots nearby - downtown so lock your car doors.
Try any main dish, they are all delicious, but make sure you have the Creme Brulee with chocolate gelato hazelnut together. Worth the trip by itself.
Superb food and fantastic service. A great value. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes, but the shrimp pasta with sun dried tomatoes and artichokes is one of my favorites. Also, try the fried calimari; it is made perfectly.
We had a nice family dinner with an out of town cousin; The place was very busy on a Saturday night. Our waiter made a great wine recommendation of the Valpolicella. Everyone was happy with their food choices, wine, ambience, service. We had a 5:30 reservation. By the time we left around 7:30, the place was really loud and hard to talk. My only issue. Would definitely go again.
This Italian re-birth of Rue de Main maintains the outstanding murals (now in Italian instead of French) in the old dining rooms plus adding a separate new brighter seating area for lunch. The ambiance is great, the service excellent and the food varied and delicious. We'll be back for dinner.
My husband and I went there for the first time for our 2nd anniversary dinner, We were seated immediately. Bread and drinks brought promptly. We had the stuffed mushrooms with seafood appetizer. Great sauce! I had veal marsala with polenta. Veggies were a little too al dente for my taste but the veal and the polenta were outstanding .My husband loved his lasagna. Very flavorful and noodles were divine. The couple sitting next to us were friendly and informative as they eat there frequently. I understand why. Our waiter was experienced, friendly and attentive, We asked one of the helpers for more bread but it was never brought to us. My husband liked hi dessert. Chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. We look forward to our next time at this restaurant.
Great Italian food! I had minestrone soup then entree of penne, sausage and meat sauce for lunch.
My friend had chicken caesar salad. He said chicken was tender and flavorful. Everything was delicious!. Even the ice tea was fresh. Ambience very cool with floor to ceiling murals painted on many walls. Give yourself extra time to park as parking is in short supply.
This is one of the most welcoming restaurant we have been to. We have never been made to feel so comfortable and the food is outstanding .
Favorite Italian food in town. Service and food is always great!
good atmosphere, prompt service, good food, what else could one want? really worth a try
We had a blast!!
Servers are great
We had a wonderful night....
Amazing fresh authentic Italian cuisine! The decor though need a refresh.
My wife and I have eaten at Acqua E' Farina many times, all extremely enjoyable--delicious food, attentive service, charming atmosphere. We highly recommend it.
Power and lights went out as our food came out and remained out for the remaining of our time there.
One of my favorite italian restaurants. They are always ready to serve you.
A suggestion, have a special once in a while.
