Superb lunch meeting! Food outstanding. Ambience perfect. (Had a last minute increase in number from 4 to 5 people. Michael took care of the change seamlessly.). Paula was very gracious and served us like a seasoned pro instead of a college sophomore. Results of meeting could not have been better. Acqua Al 2 is my “go to” place for both casual and business dining. Thank you.

We met for lunch on a blazing hot day and found Acqua Al 2 a welcome respite. The food is almost like eating at their flagship in Florence—the difference being only in the vegetable ingredients that are just better in Italy. However, the pasta was delicious and perfectly cooked, my husband’s steak was perfect, and the tiramisu was one of the best we’ve had. The mozzarella was a definite cut above anything available here in the grocery. The pre fixe price was a real bargain—3 courses of very high quality for $22. We’ll be back for another memorable lunch.

Too noisy, overcooked veal, panna cotta was too sweet. Tomatoes and mozzarella was the best dish we had. Don’t think we are coming back again.

Great food, great service, wonderful wine recommendation. A bit too noisy for my liking. Conversation with dinner is important. Hard to have just great food. Nonetheless, the wine list is wonderful and the food about as good as it gets, paired with a great waiter.

A touch of arrogance in the service that night. Had to go to the front desk to ask about a server to start with. Then we ordered the five chef choice pastas and first two came out normal time. Then a long lag and we had to ask when next course was coming. And then two show up together which is not the way it is supposed to be done. Overall our waiter carried an attitude. I would note that another person was berating the service as I went to front desk so guess I was not alone. Not the most pleasant night

Well trained staff with good knowledge of both food and wine. Fairly busy crowd and can be a bit hard to hear due to hard surfaces. The focus here are the main, step out of your comfort zone and try the filet with blueberry sauce, yum!!!

We keep coming back because it always meets our needs. It’s very convenient, food is excellent, service right on. Sometimes it gets a little energetic noise wise, but that’s OK. If you want excellent Italian dinner I suggest this is the place you want to come.

It was a little loud, surpsingly, and I had a 9pm Sat night reservation. overall, this place is one of my fav spots in the city for a yummy meal with consistently solid service. never been disappointed with food. this visit continued my appreciation for this restaurant. Reservations are recommended, esp on weekends. bar area is small.

Very inattentive server. Absolutely no accommodation on menu items; requested a different lettuce on a salad; no. Requested dessert ice cream without the brownie; no ... unless you pay for the brownie, too. We once ate in a restaurant in Canada and were told, "our menu is merely a list of suggestions, we are happy to make you whatever you like". Acqua Al 2 has the, take what is on the menu or forget it attitude.
A disappointing evening meal.

Wonderful experience. Made reservation just an hour before planned arrival - they had the table set for a solo and awaiting me. Service was attentive and timely but not rushed. Pasta was cooked to al dente perfection and the carciofi sauce rich with just the right pepper flakes seasoning to make it lively. Steak was tender and grilled with a nice crust to medium rare as requested. The blueberry sauce was a wonderful complement with balanced acidity. Excellent range of wine options by the glass and the Barolo paired beautifully. Could not have asked for anything more.

I have lived in the neighborhood for nearly 10 years and had long wanted to try Acqua Al 2. The food was quite good and the decor evocative of a quaint Italian restaurant. But we were surprised by how many families with small children were there since, at least for us, dinner was a bit of a splurge. The noise level was louder than we had anticipated which made conversation a bit challenging. The service was okay, but far from superior. Perhaps Acqua Al 2 would be quieter, and better live up to the ambience, if we dined later in the evening.

I took my out of town relatives -- a party of 8, with 3 vegetarians -- for dinner on Friday night. The main servings (ranging from $16 to $34) are disappointingly small (tapas size), with some of the vegetarian ones looking almost unappetizing (plain pasta with a rare sprinkling of vegetables); the eggplant in the eggplant parmigiana was not fully cooked! This visit -- my third -- was instigated by two earlier ones that were quite memorable. I hope our Friday night experience was an anomaly.

We have been dining at Acqua for years, and it has been our favorite restaurant on the Hill. My daughter and I had an early dinner on Friday night, and were disappointed. The Mista salad, normally extraordinarily fresh, looked and tasted old. The fresh tomatoes accompanying the fresh mozzarella cheese were hard as baseballs and flavorless. We sent this dish back to the chef asking for a tomato upgrade, but it was returned to us with a rock hard yellow tomato and a nice burgundy colored tomato. The fish was overcooked. We have never had a bad meal at your restaurant. I don't know if we'll return.
