My wife and I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. We first went to the Acqua al 2 in Florence, Italy, and both these locations have never disappointed us. We always recommend the 5 vegetarian pasta samples (to share), the Filetto al Mirtillo, and a tasty wine to accompany your meal. The staff have always been very nice and professional. It may be a little pricey, but it is totally worth it.

I like the mood and feel of the place but found the food less than impressive. Had an antipasto appetizer with mushy bread for the bruchetta, and the meat was not what I would consider high quality. Pasta was 'one note' as my friend put it. Decent but I wish it had more flavor. It was nothing memorable.

Restaurant is extremely loud. Hard to have a conversation. The service was slow and inattentive. And then the waiter brought the check without asking us if we wanted dessert, which we did.

I must admit I was a little disappointed. The pasta was salty and I felt very rushed. I did not even finish my meal and they were bringing out dessert and putting dessert menus out on the table for Friday even gotten all my food. I don't think I will go back.

Excellent experience and food. Great service as well as timing of the service. Attentive but not overbearing. We had visited the location in Florence this spring so when in DC had to visit. We were not disappointed. And great to have some Brunello again!

This was my now fiancée second time coming to this restaurant within past few months and it was excellent once again. I needed that night to go so well because right after I had actually proposed at the Lincoln Memorial and the experience at the restaurant really helped me prepare for that big moment.

Always a pleasure dining here. We will host my son’s rehearsal dinner here and have decided to dine often to taste a variety of items before finalizing the selection. They do not disappoint. The pasta is the best in DC and the service is amazing.

I am honestly just waiting for the weather to be cool enough that I can warrant eating as much of their pasta as I can.

Lovely, as always. We had my favorite waiter, the drinks were nice, and the pasta tasting menu was a lot of fun. Plus we sat in a little corner I'd never noticed before, which made the meal feel very intimate.

We liked the bar and the bartender and the general atmosphere. The food was disappointing. The server brought the salads and the antipasto at the same time! We had the pasta special, which was overcooked. My arugula/pear salad was dry and tasteless--needs some walnuts or something. Best part was the semi-freddo.

Fantastic food, lives up to its mother restaurant in Florence with a slightly higher, DC price tag.

I've been to the original in Florence and this second location did not disappoint!! Food was amazing, service impeccable and a beautiful atmosphere! So many delicious dishes but nothing can trump the balsamic filet mignon! Every time I come to DC I am going to stop here! Wonderful experience!

Wonderful Italian meal. We were in Italy last year and had some of the best Italian food. This is authentic Italian and have a location in Firenze. We shared a pasta and each ordered an entrée. My husband ordered the veal with mushroom sauce. It was delicious with very rich flavors. I rarely order chicken at a restaurant but wanted something a little lighter so order the chicken that was marinated and seasoned with rosemary, thyme and other flavors. It was delicious. Served over arugula, which I wasn't sure I would like. However, with the chicken resting atop, it slightly cooked the arugula and it absorbed the flavors of the chicken. Had a fair amount of chicken leftover, but that was it. Was looking forward to having it for lunch but my husband beat me to it. I would order everything again. The server was great!

The food was very authentic. Best we’ve had since our trip to Italy. Service was attentive without being overbearing and the courses were timed perfectly. The special dessert was phenomenal (apple cake with a maple bacon gelato). All in all, a great experience.

Acqua presents a comfortable atmosphere with an intimate bar, outside seating, and several small dining areas. Service was friendly, informative, and prompt. Beet soup was light and tasty, caprice salad was very fresh, and halibut was good but a little over cooked.

On the recommendation of some friends I went to Aqua Al 2 for the first time. The food was delicious. We had the pasta tasting (the mushroom pasta and artichoke pasta were my two favorites, and then we shared the steak tasting. The filet with blueberry reduction is amazing. Overall a great experience but very loud it was hard to hear each other.

Gracious staff, fantastic food, especially the gnocchi Alla Gorgonzola. I really appreciate the cheese, salad, pasta and dessert samplers.. It makes for a very enjoyable dinner with various tastes. I have been to the original in Florence Italy and everytime I am in d.c I make a point to go to Agua Al due.

Best Italian on the Hill. Actually, best restaurant on the hill. Trust me, I live here and I've done the legwork. This restaurant never disappoints! The ambiance is soothing, the staff is friendly and attentive, the wine selection is lovely, even by the glass and the food is unbelievable! Get the veal porterhouse for sure. The gnocchi in Gorgonzola is to die! Be sure to Harold Black for a cocktail first!

Beat steak in DC (bistecca fiortena) - not even close. Good for groups, dates or families. Wine list is rip notch but dangerous -we always end up buying at least a case of what was recommended. Sajmir is great finding gems. Overall, well done. Thank you.

Great service! The tuna carpaccio was a good portion and tasty. The home made pasta was delicious, although the cheese sauces were a bit rich for our taste. Probably will try the tomato sauce next time. Great wine selection. The flourless chocolate cake was devine.

Salads and pastas were quite good. I had tagliatelle and was very good. My partner had spicy red sauce which he liked and I liked better than my own. Another companion had gnocchi with Gorgonzola and she didn't love hers. Lastly someone had a steak with a balsamic reduction and loved it. Service was attentive and not pretentious. I'd like to come back
