Everything was good from the appetizer with eggplant, to the pasta and chicken and the vanilla bean custard! Service was great as well. I will be back!
Ordered the Brunch frittata with prosciutto, which was terrific. The eggs were firm (not runny), as I prefer and the salad on top made for a light breakfast/lunch repast. The ambiance hearkens back to a Europe and the service was terrific (accommodated my celiac dietary needs). Only recommendation would be that the brunch menu also include a list of brunch drinks (mimosa, etc.).
Great food. The green peppercorn NY strip was amazing. The service was fast and courteous.
The atmosphere was great, it was a little noisy, but in that everyone is having a good time way. The food was amazing, the bread and oil were delicious, our server was very attentive. We ended with dessert, but we as so full from the meal, we couldn’t even finish it.
Fantastic food, ambience and service. Highly recommended.
Easily the worst service I have received in years. Doubt if I return.
While we were looking forward to our celebration dinner at Acqua Al2, we were were not overly impressed with the whole experience. A couple of things, the waitress while polite, she was not warm and rather than spending even 20 seconds to be engaging or even explaining the daily specials to us was instead immediately firing info and questions at us like she was very pressured for time, and each time she returned to the table it was the same. Second, the pasta while tasty was fairly firm and some parts very stiff/dried out like it had been sitting or "freshened up" not actually freshly prepared for my meal. Third, my wife watched a server drop a spoon on the floor and rather than get a clean new one, brought the dropped one to a table two down from us. Lastly, we paid our bill by CC (picked up and returned by a manager?) and once outside our waitress who happened to be there stopped us and asked how we paid, while the point of the conversation was to make sure we did not leave cash and go as they do not accept cash, the whole conversation was awkward and unneeded as when she left our bill at the table she could have taken 10 seconds to tell us they do not take cash. We are unlikely to return, there are other local options that are a better value and experience.
Seating was 45 minutes after reservation Service was slow, needed to flag staff in order to get order taken Too crowded too flow unpleasant
Very loud and couldn’t even hear the person across the table. Service was slow and we didn’t. Get the carrot soup ordered as an antipasto. Food was not the best for any of our meals. All around a disappointing evening out
Outstanding option for authentic Italian in Capitol Hill.
My wife an I went to the original restaurant in Florence and when we found out there was one in DC we were really excited to go. The was just as good as we remember and a lot closer lol.
Apart from the service, our experience was just ok. We found it to be over priced. It was a bit loud as the tables are seated very closely. The Caprese was good, as was the creme brulee, but our entrees were underwhelming.
The food was absolutely amazing, from the cheese plate to the main dish. Our server was also great, very attentive but never annoying. I told him at the beginning of the meal that I would like a second glass of wine with dinner and he made sure to bring me one with my main course without me having to ask again. The ambience was great - very spacious, not loud, and very clean. Overall a great experience - would definitely go back!
The food is terrible. The service was okay. Their wine prices are ridiculous.
We went to celebrate our anniversary and had a great meal. Try the Blueberry Fillet...FABULOUS
After visiting the "mothership" twice in Florence, I'd been wanting to try the DC location for a while. It lived up to my expectations! Cute, cozy, charming restaurant, great outside seating on a warm spring night, varied menu full of options -- easily something-for-everyone. The eggplant appetizer was the best and in spite of intending to get pasta, I got one of the specials that night, softshell crabs, which was a huge, fabulous, flavorful dish. Will be back.
Had a wonderful meal with my daughter.
Everything was delicious. Our server had great recommendations. They even made something special for my picky eater.
Acqua al 2 never ever disappoints. Fell in love with this place in Italy, and happy to be moving close to this DC location. Food is literally fantastic and so is the service.
Amazing food and service as always!
We love it here! Our date night was crashed by our toddler and they were very accomdating so we could still enjoy a nice dinner on their patio.
The food we ordered was quite delicious. What we were a bit surprised was that when you order chicken with mushrooms that is all you are going to get. No pasta side, no bed or rice, no vegetables, just a hunk of meat.
The fileto al mirtillo is a must have!!! Our waiter was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food tasted just as delicious as the Florence location.
Because it was so loud inside we requested and got an outside table. Not much a crowed restaurant can do about noise but we thank them for accommodating our request to move outside.
Great food and friendly people
Overall, it was a good experience. The service was great and it was a cute little building. The food was just average though. In particular the ragu was a disappointment. The spicy tomato pasta was good but not worth coming back for.
Acqua Al 2 is at the same price point at The Red Hen and the food just isn't as interesting. The staff is lovely but other than the squash pasta, most of the dishes were pretty standard/average flavors.
A lovely place, great food and attentive service. Pretty loud however - not easy to carry on a conversation given the noise level.
Food was excellent as always. The lunch svelta menu is an amazing deal. I would have love to have given this 5 stars, but our server kept forgetting about us.
Was great and will def be back
Food was not quite at the same level as it normally is. We got 6 or 7 dishes and really only one lived up to the standard. We were sat in the back corner and it was difficult to get in and out of the table. Server was largely good.
The place was loud but some tables left so it got quiet. The food was good.
Food was truly spectacular
Food was very good but the waiter forgot our carpaccio. He also did his best to steer us to the most expensive menu items which didn’t work. Nice atmosphere and good food. Would recommend
We had a reunion of sorts, friends getting together from far away. The meal was exceptional, great service, too.
Ate here on 2015 and now back in DC. It was as fabulous as it was then. Truly authentic Italian food. Not Americanized Italian food. Highly recommend if you are in the DC area.
The best pasta in DC!
Always excellent. This time I had the eggplant sauce on pasta. Wonderful.
I would recommend, with one caution: alcohol prices were ridiculous. And $15 for a tiny little shot of Amaro is no way to end a meal.
Excellent but expensive, especially their wine list.
