My experience was wonderful the food was excellent and I can not wait to go back.
Great as always
Very enjoyable. Good food and friendly and excellent service
Amazing, old world authentic Italian food, better than my Nonna's even!
Delicious food and staff who are there when you need them and gone when you don’t.
The host immediately met our party with a rude attitude. The host was completely put out when we asked to seat us at a different table that was available. The waiter gave us our check without offering dessert
The food was amazing! The pasta sampler is a must try :)
Great food, great wine and even better service!
This is our favorite restaurant in DC! The food is always tasty and it’s classy and kid-friendly.
We had a good dinner here a few nights ago. Started with the Burrata which was yummy. One in our party had the gnocchi with Gorgonzola and the others had the pasta sampler. While the sampler was good, I think next time I’ll just pick the pasta that sounds best as the sampler was a lot of pasta. We will likely be back next time we are in DC.
All of the staff was super welcoming and made us feel at home! Very much recommend to anybody that lives in DC. Ambiance, food and the people are all a great vibe!
Acqua Al 2 was right up there with the best Italian spots in DC. A bit more of a traditional Italian experience and the food was truly exceptional. The blueberry reduction on the steak is a winner!
excellent Italian restaurant - great selection, good service, fair prices, and terrific red sauce - the true sign of a great Italian restaurant
Had a 7:30 rez. Seated after 7:50. Busy and frenetic. Not wonderfully relaxing. Upcharged when we remarked that 3 tiny triangles of cheese on a $24 antipasto platter was not enough. More cheese please cost us, of course. Pastas less than stellar as we remembered. Blueberry steak was amazing and star of the show. With so many great Italian options in DC, not sure if we will be back. Very underwhelmed.
Authentic Tuscan cuisine in a nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
Great atmosphere and food.
Acqua Al 2 was fantastic! My daughter and I enjoyed your sister restaurant in Florence when we visited, so I was not sure if your DC Acqua Al 2 would live up to the standard we enjoyed in Florence, but it did!!!
Great spot for a date night. Offerings for vegetarians and meat-eaters. For the latter, get the fillet with the blueberry reduction.
Every dish has never disappointed
Service is very slow and deteriorating, and many mistakes and aggravations are now par for the course. Some dishes are excellent but in general it is extremely expensive for what you get.
The six of us had a wonderful night. We loved the spinach ball appetizers, a burrata, two kinds of gnocchi, mushroom fusilli, the fish and the steak. The chef generously sent us a free house-made pasta with wild boar and it was just amazing. The $90 Nebbiolo was perfect. How on earth did the two gnocchis (pesto and gorgonzola) be the exact same but have such different flavor profiles. I’ll be in Florence this summer and will absolutely plan on going to the original restaurant! Thank you!!!!
Food was excellent, had a gaff on recognizing our anniversary but the manager made it right! Will be back!
Great food, menu and service I’ll be back!
Service was mediocre at best. Waiters and support staff had too many tables to take care of. When I made the reservation asked for a quiet corner table or booth and when we came in the person at the front was glib and said, “we have you over there and there is no one on either side.” I said, you know in 15 minutes those tables will be filled.” He gave me the too bad look and dismissively walked away. He turned off both me and my business client and lost our monthly business.
We have been to the restaurant about four times and it never disappoints. Like a very good Italian the sauce is the key and with the san Marzano tomatoes this sauce is at the top of the charts. We had fantastic eggplant parm that wasn't over fried or over done. The linguine vongole was delicious with tender clams and we finished our entrees with a well cooked and tender chicken breast with porcini mushrooms. The service was smart, unobtrusive and professional.
It was amazing! Timing of food was spot on. Wine was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was a wonderful evening.
As an out of town couple, we asked our server for some recommendations and all of them were wonderful selections. The service was always timely, the food was perfectly prepared and seasoned. The marinara sauce was just the right amount of spicy hot. If you love authentic Italian cuisine, this is worth a stop in DC.
It was aight
The Bistecca alla Fiorentina was an absolute must-have. I am still drooling just remembering it!
Amazing delicious food
