   Good food! I ordered chilaquiles and they were ice cold on the edges but hot in the middle. The service was a little slow but it was a busy brunch. Everyone was very kind, good ambiance. Not one vegan option on the menu, though. I do love Acorn, it's a go-to. Never a disappointment.

   Went here for a birthday brunch. Everyone said their food was delicious. Eggs on the everything bagel sandwich were cooked perfectly. French toast was outstanding! Lox bagel was enough to feed 2 people. Will definitely be back!

   Mussels were absolutely delicious. My husband’s steak was good but very spicy for him unexpectedly. My pork chop and accompanying vegetables were very tasty but the chop was thin and dry so disappointing. Our server offered to get another but I knew my husband would be done with his food by the time it would have arrived. The restaurant’s acoustics made it very hard to hear one another. For a small venue it was very loud. This was our first time—we probably won’t return. There were plenty of people in there so it’s clearly a popular spot.

   Server was wonderful! She made excellent recommendations- including a starter of amazing beignets. For brunch, I had delicious chilaquiles, my dining partners had fried chicken sandwich (huge- so better be hungry!); chorizo hash, and two eggs “any style” (poached). Everyone was happy! It’s a cute place on Walnut Street in the Shadyside neighborhood, so enjoy a post-meal stroll through the side streets. There’s plenty to see and do while you’re there.

    First time visiting this restaurant. It was a very limited menu… six entrees? We waiting at least 20 minutes for appetizers to arrive. I ordered mussels as appetizers. They were fine but the toast was burnt on the bottom. My wife ordered beet salad… little to no flavor. Twenty more minutes and entrees showed up. Two in our party ordered Rigatoni… $30 for a very small bowl and they were cold. Mentioned to waitress and she said they could make another order… we did not want to wait another 20 minutes. I ordered the Branzino. It was a very small portion $42 and was soo salty it was almost inedible. The charred rapini appeared to have been deep fried for 10 minutes… it was a greasy petrified trig. Will not be returning.

    My boyfriend and I came here for the first time to a Valentine's Day dinner and had a wonderful time. Everything we ordered came out quickly and tasted delicious. The portion sizes were good. Kayla our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back again to try the brunch menu next time.

    Choices we’re good, unique variations for every taste, reasonably priced, excellent service (our server was Ava). A slight channge in reservation made directly with the restaurant was easy. Great value. We have already recommended it

    Pure delight from start to finish! Greeted warmly at the door by a gentleman who we soon learned would be our waiter. He kindly answered all my wife's questions regarding the menu and how items could be modified to accommodate her celiac restrictions. The signature cocktails were amazing! For an appetizer we shared the brussel sprouts, modified to be fully gluten-free, then I enjoyed the best ribeye I have ever had while my wife fought the urge to lick the bowl of her salmon entrée to ensure not a drop of curry was wasted. While you can get a good meal at a number of restaurants in Pittsburgh, few pair this with the sheer hospitality the staff of Acorn so effortlessly exude. We will definitely be back! Thank you to Jareth and Ashley for a phenomenal experience!

    The service started out great, we walked in and were immediately greeted by the staff. We were sat promptly, where our server quickly came to take our drink orders and was able to give us excellent drink recommendations. We ordered two appetizers to share(mussels and cauliflower), both were seasoned to perfection. The sauce with the steak was delicious and the pork chop was juicy. Couldn’t recommend the beignets enough. Overall great service and great food, we will come again!

    Took my husband for our anniversary celebration. Dinner was fantastic. One of the best Ribeyes I’ve ever had. He had the salmon which he raved about. We started with the mussels and they were absolutely delicious, and such a generous portion. It took everything not to drink the broth! Our server Ashley, who was also the bartender, was so kind and just wonderful. She is really creative with her cocktail menu and even made us each a special off the menu drink. 10/10! We will be back!

    The food was okay. I don’t want to insult the chef or owner and say the food was unimaginative, but Pittsburgh is becoming saturated on name-your-inspiration American fare. The prices are a bit high for an average “nice” menu. The cocktail menu wasn’t very competitive either, more fruity than complex. I’d probably not go back, since there are other spots where I’d either want to revisit or take the chance. If you live within walking distance, this is probably an option to mix things up once in a while.

    Went to Acorn for brunch. The chorizo hash, fried chicken sandwich, chilaquiles, and vegetable frittata were all amazingly delicious! 5/6 of us ordered coffee which none of us liked. It tasted old and was bitter. The beignets weren’t horrible, but if you’ve been to New Orleans, take a pass on them here. They weren’t very fluffy and the one I had wasn’t cooked enough as there was raw batter in the middle. Otherwise it’s a really cozy place with what we all thought was a phenomenal playlist of music. Waitstaff was fantastic. Definitely going to go there to try their dinners.

    I have been here before and enjoyed it however this time the waiter was much less attentive. My husband and I both got the steaks - medium rare - which we both have gotten before. Although mine was cooked appropriately, my husbands was way too rare. We didn’t send it back before the waiter never came back - until the end of the meal when i was completely done. He Didn’t even ask how we liked it - although he could prob tell since my husbands steak was hardly eaten. I am unfortunately not sure we will be back since my husband had such a terrible meal. The calamari on the other hand was delicious.

    I like that the menu is very limited. To me it means they want to put out only quality food. The Food was well prepared. Service was friendly and helpful but I think they are short staffed as everyone is these days. Our food was verging on cold when it was served to us and the clams topping my dish had started to shrivel. It seemed like it took a while for our waiter to make his rounds back to us. But he did always come back and our water glasses did not get empty It is a lovely restaurant my complaints are minor. I will definitely return.

    Seated near front door. Cold blast of air every time the door opened. Food took a long time and was lukewarm and not helped by the fact that one entree was served 5+ minutes after the first three. Manager tried to compensate with a couple of free desserts but too little too late. Stay away in cold weather.

    The food here is always excellent, sometimes superb. The drinks are very well tended too. The big shortcoming for us was service. The server did not attend to us at all once the main portions were served. She did not return to get the order for a second round of drinks we wanted to make, and when we finished eating, our plates sat on the table for a good 20 minutes before she finally showed up. She did not offer any dessert menu. In these ways she lost the restaurant business (more drinks and dessert) and she lost our confidence. Despite our high fives for the quality of food, we will have to consider whether or not to return.
