Absolutely loved everything, food, presentation, and service.
Loved the oj, pancakes, and chicken sandwich.
Starting with the delicious and creative cuisine created by Chef Paul, delivered to the table by kind and competent servers...down to the very chic ambiance in which we enjoyed our experience, Acorn remains one of our absolute favorite eateries in Pittsburgh...or in ANY city, for that matter.
We enjoyed that there were some delicious vegetarian (if not vegan) options; the cauliflower and brussel sprouts were delicious. Shrimp masa had a lot going for it, but the shrimp were overdone, sadly. Chocolate bread pudding was good but not amazing. We will go again, though.
Amazing food, amazing service and an all around excellent experience!
Great options for vegetarians. The wait staff was very attentive, detailed and pleasant.
Delicious food, excellent cocktails, our servers were very attentive, and they all did social distancing correctly, so I felt safe dining in!
Felt tables were too close together
Vegan option was made for my wife. Cocktails were good. Food was delicious. Service was fair. Server was nice but no check backs. Bottom line they are understaffed on the floor because of the Covid, so the server had to cover a lot of ground during a Saturday night dinner.
Place was nice, we parked in a lot and walked a short distance to our car.
Perfect every time. The food and atmosphere is just beyond perfect.
Galentine’s Day
I got the trout and my partner picked the salmon. Both dishes were phenomenal and our waitress offered to explain them for us, much appreciated. The food was great, and they didn’t have the drink he wanted but was able to substitute.
The staff was really kind.
We came here for Valentine's Day brunch. We decided to order the blueberry pancakes and the fried chicken sandwich, and then share both. One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Service, drinks, everything was top notch and made for a great start to vday.
My boyfriend and I went to acorn for Valentine’s Day this year. The short rib appetizer was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the steak, it was just ok-not worth the $48 price tag. His side was very undercooked. I ordered the pappardelle and it was really not good. Hard for me to finish the already super small bowl of pasta. That being said, the service was great! Overall, wouldn’t recommend to a friend due to the quality of food for the price.
This was our first time at a resteraunt since the start of the pandemic. From start to finish, the entire experience was wonderful. The food was excellent, the service was superior, and the the overall ambience made the evening that much more enjoyable. The entire staff is a well oiled machine, and it put you right at ease from the moment you stepped inside.
I couldn’t recommend this place more!
This was our second trip to Acorn. My husband was looking forward to the crab rice appetizer that he had on the first visit. As the menu changes, the crab rice was not available on this visit. Almost with a pout, he settled on the short rib appetizer. He enjoyed the short ribs so much that I will not be surprised if he sneaks back for them again without me. Fantastic experience. Also, I had the clam chowder that I have ever had and we go to Maine every year. I may just have to sneak back for chowder without him sometime too.
So happy Acorn has reopened! Cocktails were thoughtful and flavorful, appetizer of toasted cauliflower was super yummy as remembered. Trout was delicious and yes... the carrot cake is the best in Pittsburgh. Additionally, the waitstaff and management are diligent and conscientious about COVID safety protocols.
Great night, could not have been better. Yum x 100!
Food and craft cocktails were delicious!
Excellent food and quality. Highly recommend the beignets for dessert! Took a while to get our first round of drinks but service was great after that.
Our waiter gave outstanding service and was very kind
Amazing experience and incredible food!!
Best brunch in Pittsburgh!
Acorn was amazing. The food was exceptional! Will be going back very soon.
Food was outstanding. Flavors were pronounced, dishes were well seasoned. Portions were reasonable. I feel like Acorn keeps getting better every time I come.
Great location and delicious food for brunch or dinner.
It’s was great! Food and service are something that is elevated and cute! Perfect for me and my friend from NYC and LA
Really good vegetarian dishes and cocktails. Server very good and felt safe since tables separated well. Recommend highly.
The food was great. Hands down the best Brussel sprouts ever!! The service even better than the food. We had the most amazing waitress, Ashley...she was fantastic super knowledgeable about the menu. Fabulous
We are new to the area and have been exploring restaurants in different neighborhoods. We’ve been underwhelmed a number of times, but Acorn more than exceeded our expectations. We went for brunch and all of us had a wonderful experience. Cocktails were delicious, pancakes were delicious and beautiful, chicken sandwich yummy and served with the best fries I’ve had in ages. Anxious to go back for dinner!
Acorn is a truly superlative dining experience from excellent drinks, pretending service, exquisite presentation and taste, and a creative and unique menu. I have never been anything but completely pleased with my visits. Highly recommend!!
Delicious food and excellent service
Wow. Beautiful and delicious with service to match.
Food was amazing ! Drinks are meh, for 12 dollars you'd expect a mimosa to maybe not have pulp in it ?
Food was delicious (although the everything bagel for the bagel and lox was a bit garlicky). Prices were reasonable for the food but the mimosa was tiny for the 12 dollar price tag so perhaps consider one of their cocktails instead.
Food was very creative and excellent. Complex flavors most kitchens cant achieve. Portions actually larger than they should have been . Excellent craft cocktails and well chosen wine list that seemed reasonable. Our server was very helpful and the industrial type ambience was fine. Overall it was like a 4 and a half star experience if I could split stars.
Great Meal! Great People! Great Ambiance! They have adapted well to Covid. Please support these great people who provide a great experience!
Burnt pizza, overcooked risotto, unbeatable salmon. Hard to forget!
Brunch was super yummy and much more filling than I anticipated! Will definitely be back to try dinner.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable of the menu and welcomed questions. I had a bourbon cocktail, fresh coffee, and the smoked salmon + on an everything bagel. I also shared the lebnah. Everything was delicious, I would note that the salmon bagel dish was on the salty side, but not in a bad way! Thanks for a delicious brunch!
While our meals we all very good we definately missed the Bread butter starter.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our son’s birthday at Acorn. All dishes (a small plate, entree sans deserts) were very unique, well prepared and well presented.
Having alerted them of the birthday, the team went out of their way to make it fun and memorable. I won’t share what they did to avoid spoiling for anyone else. I will say that what they did was as special & unique as their recipes - something we’d never seen a restaurant due for their patrons. Thanks to everyone for making this such a great evening for our family.
