There were 4 of us for dinner. We had been wanting to eat there for the longest time & we could not have been happier!!!
We had almost all of the small plates & 2 entrees that we shared between us.
Each item was more delicious then the next. Cocktails were delicious & the Pinot noir on the menu is one of the best I’ve ever had.
The staff were attentive, friendly & accommodating.
If you get a chance to eat there…do it! You won’t be disappointed.
Didn't get to eat my food until I got home because my date was the worst of my life, but when I did finally eat it at home, much much earlier than I anticipated, the food was better than most places are hot.
I wouls definitely go back if it wasnt for the horrifying memory that's now associated with the place.
Great place. Simple menu, great atmosphere and perfect location. The beignets!!!!!!! Skip the chocolate and apple cinnamon (eh to both) and go all in with the butterscotch. A little short staffed, but that's to be expected when dining these days. Friendly staff. A great pick!
We had a wonderful evening at Acorn. Delicious food and drinks and exceptional service by Courtney. We enjoyed cauliflower app, ramen and trout.
Service was fantastic but the food wasn’t very good. Very salty and lots of seasoning on everything. Mussels didn’t taste right.
Succulent meal from start to finish!
Delicious food in a casual but decorative dining room.
Everything was fantastic! From the moment we walked in, there was a welcoming feeling, which set the stage for a fantastic experience. We really enjoyed the recommendations and the amount of care we got when discussing meals, ingredients, and preparation of the food. There is definitely a quality of service, cuisine, and overall pride in the food and ambience, which is such a gem to find.
The food is off the map good. I lived in Alaska for two years; that was the only place that I’ve had better salmon.
Locally-owned and uses seasonal ingredients for their inspiration. We loved it! Reservations are definitely recommended.
appetizers outstanding main meals not great poor value
Server/waitstaff was nice but not present. Our drink glasses cocktail and water were empty for almost 20 min. My wife's ramen was served with pasta not ramen noodles that became mushy/breaking apart preventing her from finishing her meal. We waited a long time to dine here because the reservations are usually booked and we're very disappointed. Our take home bag was placed on the floor which we thought was odd, and then we forgot the bag when we left. Overall our experience was overpriced, underserved and overly pretentious.
Great ambience and creative food. Good for special occasion .
From start til the last moment, it was perfect. Our server was a total professional- fun, funny, made great recommendations and good conversationalist. The brussels were amazing..what did they do to that tofu??? And the mussels, I wanted to drink the broth. We had the rib-eye, salmon, pork and ramen abs would recommend each one…totally fabulous. Finished it off with the beignets. Those sauces???? I wanted to take a vat home of each one. The Slovenian cab was so unusual but sooo tasty. Would recommend Acorn to anyone!
The beignets were incredible. The food was delicious but the appetizers were a little disappointing. The trout was delicious and the pappardelle was also so rich and the noodles were fresh.
Top quality and classic dishes with small unique touches which were extremely well made. A bit pricey but you get undeniable quality food. Enjoyed the pork tenderloin a lot
Excellent dining experience. We really like the ambiance and the venue. The menu has a great selection of dishes that are innovative and combine different culinary elements. We absolutely loved the Brussels spout appetizer - the best we have ever had. One of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh!!! This is a great dining experience!!! Well done
Hostess needs a bit more training.2 person stands in front to greet and seat guest but we stand there while one person is taking reservations and the other just stand there.not sure why or maybe she was on train.but beyond that our waitress was great! And our food was delicious! Cocktails was also very good.over all we will come back again and will recommend..
Restaurant seemed very noisy (hard to hear) and the main dish seemed to take a while.
We had high hopes for our dinner. We were disappointed as we were seated almost 25min after our reserved time. The service was slow but our waitress was very nice and accommodating. The food was not worth the price. My pasta was thick and dripping with butter. My husband’s salmon was salty. The drinks and desert were good! Not sure we will be returning for dinner.
DELICIOUS, creative, memorable cuisine!
The food, service and atmosphere were fabulous! I have celiac disease and our server was very knowledgeable and assured me that the chef knows his stuff and can make most dishes GF. We shared a couple of appetizers and the ribeye. My husband who can be hard to please raved about the steak and said he looked forward to every bite.
We highly recommend this restaurant!
Was hoping for different menu options than it was 5 months ago.
Best service in the city!
Lovely food even better presentation a hidden gem . Signature cocktails were also delicious. We are excited to try it for dinner now as brunch was fabulous
One of the best brunches in Pittsburgh! We got the homemade bagels...YUM! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Our “go to” local restaurant.
Always excellent food and varied menu.
My friend and I went out for a girls dinner to catch up and had such a lovely time!! The drinks were crafted to perfection and our waitress was top notch with her suggestions and knowledge of the dishes. Loved it.
Service has been poor the last two times I’ve visited. The waitress failed to check on us for 25 minutes. I would have ordered another drink but it was so slow. Despite the food being good, we won’t return again.
Everything was amazing, but Maya on her second night was the absolute delight. Try the shrimp masa, the pappardelle and the carrot cake - none displaying. The cocktails kicked off the meal perfectly!
Wonderful, quaint and contemporary setting for fabulous food and service in Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
We enjoyed a wonderful brunch in September 2021, featuring delicious biscuit like pancakes with an amazing blueberry compote and whipped cream. Additionally we enjoyed two skillets featuring a short rib hash and a Mexican chili tortilla.
Everything was delicious, made from scratch and beautifully presented.
Our server, Liz, was professional, friendly and delivered the entire meal with wonderful service and a great attitude.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for brunch on the weekends.
We are looking forward to returning and trying other things on the menu and experiencing the dinner vibe next time.
Wonderful experience with great food& services. Enjoyable.
Fantastic food! Everything was delicious. Will definitely go back.
Best meal I’ve had in awhile. Two of us shared 4 appetizers. Each item was delicious, and we were stuffed.
The service was exceptional. The food was great. Very accommodating to food allergies. We had the perfect area for a gathering and the fit our party of 8.
Our service was great, one of the best bloody Marys I've had. Well curated menu.
Sophisticated and imaginative combinations of herbs, spices and other ingredients -- all the entrees were interesting and delicious. I like to learn something new from what a chef presents and Acorn did not disappoint. Clearly everyone was having a good time; our servers were attentive but not intrusive. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Although it is on the expensive side, for high-quality local ingredients and competent artistry I don't mind paying a little more to really enjoy an evening out. Welcome back after the pandemic everyone!
We had a delicious brunch. Two of us had fish tacos which were wonderful. Two had short rib hash. Tasted good but too many potatoes. The Bloody Mary’s were very good.
Service was wonderful. We’ll be back.
Great place, a little loud to have a conversation amongst friends.
terrific place - great menu - fab service! Truly classy place!
