The ovens are turned on early. Six o'clock most days. Earlier on Sunday. Within an hour, bread is rising, apples are being sliced. Pecan pies are pulled hot from the oven and left to cool. Ice cream churns in the machine. Cups of coffee steam on the prep table, the baker's cup marked with chocolaty fingerprints. By midmorning, pork shoulder, rubbed with spices the day before, is slowly smoked. And white buckets are filled with sliced onions. Corn is shucked. The stock that cooked all night is taken off the stove and strained. Bags of fresh shrimp are delivered in old grocery store bags. The waiters arrive in groups, shirts and ties on hangers. By then, every burner in the kitchen is being used. Herbs are chopped. Scallops cleaned. Ovens at 500 degrees. All sauces are checked. Bartenders polish their shakers. Silverware is rolled and every surface is wiped down. Music. Lights. Doors are opened. Dinnertime. At Acme. Seven nights a week. Local never tasted so damn good.

Perfect service level, great selection of cocktails and wine and very tasty Southern inspired food. Beautiful space! On some items, prices seemed a little high, but just by like $1-2.

It all started with the staff. We showed up 15 minutes early and were seated within minutes. The waiter was absolutely amazing, guiding us through the exquisite menu and the incredible flavor combinations. We went with pecan encrusted fried chicken, cornbread with a goat cheese and thyme butter, and jambalaya, all of which were fantastic! I can’t recommend this place enough, the prices were definitely reasonable, if not low for the quality of service and food, the staff were exceedingly polite, and the food was just perfection.

I dined with a group of 10 and some at the table said their breakfast sandwich was the best they'd ever had anywhere. Really nice selection of local, healthy food. We look forward to eating here again.

We went here for a Valentine's day date. I made sure to make a reservation a few weeks before so that we would have a spot. Upon arrival they greeted us and made us wait about a few minutes which wasn't bad at all considering it was a holiday. They then seated us and took our order. The server was very helpful and let us taste a wine we were interested in. We ordered two drinks I had the winter ration and my girlfriend had a white wine. Both were very good. We also ordered the calamari salad as an appetizer which had an awesome dressing and a very different but enjoyable taste. The portion of calamari was decent so I would say it was worth the $10 it cost. Then we ordered our entrees, I had the pecan crusted fried chicken ($23) and my girlfriend had the crab cakes ($26). They were both excellent choices. The mashed potatoes were amazing as well as the chicken. The crab cakes were also very good especially the sauce they used to drizzle on top of them. The portions were the right size and we ended up taking about a third of the fried chicken home. Overall the experience was worth it although for fine dining I think it may have been slightly more expensive than other places in the triangle. It's a great place that everyone should try at least once. I have yet to try their brunch and plan on coming back sometime soon.

We had a very enjoyable brunch. The service was nicely attentive without being on top of us. The salmon hand cake was delicious as was the omelet. We shared both which was a great way to do brunch. We topped it all off with a pair of Bloody Marys which were also quite good.

I was surprised that the food was not excellent. It was good. Bordering on very good. The entree portions were on the small side - almost like stingy. It made me wonder if they were running out that night. Why would you be chintzy on gumbo? A steak might be different...... I like the atmosphere and especially since our foursome scored a table where it was not so loud. Otherwise a very loud and close together kind of place. The service was fine, quite competent. A great neighborhood place. Really good. Just left you thinking, " it could be so much more......"
