Acappella - West
Have been looking forward to this visit for a long time, with out of town guests. Made the reservation and even received confirmation 24 hours before.
Got to the restaurant --- it was CLOSED --- as in locked up tight, nobody available. Attempted to call, didn't even get any sort of answer. Went online to check the website---was taken to "Bento Box" with an 'uh-oh, something is wrong with this site' ... also checked the parent location in NYC --- apparently closed permanently.
I do send giant kudos to Open Table for responding to my concerns in a very professional manner.
We ordered the Octopus appetizer and we got 2 skinny
little pieces not worth the $20.
Service was inattentive since we were just a party of 2
I have been going to Acappella in NY and now NJ since the day they opened in NY. Dinner is an event, not just a meal. Seeing Peter, Johnny and Ricky in the NJ location brings back great memories and guarantees exceptional service. Sergio makes everyone feel important and truly cares about his guests/friends. Just an exceptional time with great friends.
The buffet food was a bit cold but everything tasted good.
My wife and I and three other couples had a wonderful dinner at this fine restaurant. We especially recommend the raw oysters and the octopus appetizers and the bronzino entree. The pastas are equally delicious, as is the very dense chocolate cake dessert. We will be back very soon!!!!!
We are made to feel like welcomed family. The salmon with mustard sauce is silky and not overwhelmed by the sauce. We get octopus appetizer every time. Yum
We had a very good meal. My pasta was excellent. My wife's branzino was cooked beautifully. The portabello appetizer was a little skimpy, and the tomatoes were not very tasty. The rapini was delicious as was my wife's grilled vegetables. A delicious gourmet meal.
Excellent NYC quality food and service.
SUPERB!!! TRIBECA LOCATION BROUGHT TO EDGEWATER...LOVED :-)
Our group of 14 board members and consultants had a wonderful holiday dinner at this very fine redtaurant. The service was good, as were the drinks. Everyone raved sbout the food and wine. Highly recommend!!! 🍷🍷🍷👍👍👍👏👏👏
The service, food and attention to detail was amazing.
Highly recommend for all occasions.
We went to Acapella when there was an engagement party in the next room, so it was very loud and rowdy. The food was very good. My husband had the veal with cheese and a tomato sauce, which he said was slightly over cooked but otherwise the flavors were good. I ordered the lobster stuffed pasta in a vodka sauce. It was delicious. We tasted each other’s dishes. Mine was the winner. The pasta is homemade there. For an appetizer, we had the octopus. It was very good.
food was delicious, atmosphere very nice, the only thing i would recommend is more vegan dishes and since the name is acapella, singers singing acapella lol...
Love, love, love the place. Always great food and service. Worth the drive.
We took my sister-in-law to this fine restaurant for her birthday celebration. Everyone had delicious dinners, including the spiendini ala romano, the pasta primavera and pasta carbonara, and the tuna and bronzino entrees. And the service and hospitality were exceptional. Just a wonderful evening and dining experience. Highly recommend!!!!
Top food and top service! Special mention to Ricky, very pleasant!
Very confused about why during reservations, I would be asked if this was a special occasion. I indicated birthday, but that was useless since no one at the restaurant inquired about who's birthday it was.
Sergio was very accommodating with us, the brunch menu is great since has pasta, chicken, you can order a home made omelette, you will get 2 drinks, and the barternder which I dont remember her name she was aswesome as well. I am planning to go back.
Restaurant was alright until a mouse was roaming around in the middle of the restaurant. My gf and I were disgusted. Our waiter noticed the mouse after we told him and did not do anything about it nor accommodate us. It’s a shame.
Service was poor (they kept forgetting our drinks), food just OK, the only thing worth eating was the polenta (best ever)
The worse part, they allowed Cigar smoking in the outdoor seating area and with the doors open it permeated the entire dining room making it unbearable to enjoy dinner
Another excellent dinner at this fine restaurant. Thank you to Maitre D’ Pietro for his efforts to insure a wonderful dining experience. We’ll be back soon for some birthday celebration dinners!!!!
Melissa was our server. The restaurant was not busy at all, there were no more than 4 tables being served at one time during our time there. Melissa was rude (she made a negative comment about our table’s intake of alcohol - there was a special on mimosas), she had a poor attitude, she didn’t bring drinks when we asked her (several times, and most times the mimosa had little to no orange juice), and the head chef was serving tables because Melissa could not handle her workload.
When we received our check, there was additional tax added to the original amount (which already included tax). We attempted to address this situation, but the hostess took too long to come back to rectify the issue. We finally decided to leave and cut our losses for the day.
Please consider hiring more wait staff.
Went with high expectations but was totally disappointed. Food was overall salty; service was terrible. Left with a bad taste. Much to improve!
The mushroom pasta was outstanding!
My wife and I had another wonderful dinner at this fine restaurant. We highly recommend the spiendini ala romano appetizer. puttenasca pasta, and branzino and rack of lamb entrees. We will be back very soon!!!
Excellent Sunday brunch with unlimited Mimosas, Bellinis and Bloody Marys. Food quality was excellent as well as the attention from the servers.
Food was fresh and had a lot of flavor. Staff was very attentive and professional
Very nice ambience, great food and exceptional service. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s very cozy and great for a date night, friends get together, celebrations. Ample parking space and even offers outdoor seating which is very nice.
This was our second time having dinner at Acappella.....we met friends halfway...and we all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner....The Service is wonderful! We will definitely be returning....
I have been to this restaurant 3 times and each and every times it was fantastic! The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and professional. I wish I could afford to eat there once a week. Such a special restaurant!
Best Italian food in the area and excellent service from friendly staff. Like going to Manhattan without the drive.
One of favorite restaurants. Always a good experience. Excellent food, top service, nice staff, involved owner. We go out of our way to eat there.
LOVE this restaurant. Everything is always fresh and delicious. And the new brunch menu - OMG...$30 you can't go wrong.
Must try tableside pasta if they have it. Outstanding!!1
The entrance was not very attractive showing a sign on a truck. We had a reservation for 7:30, we were right on time but for some reason they kept pushing us to go to the bar. We did not want to go to the bar we wanted to be seated. Finally a table was found. We sat for about 15 to 20 minutes before we had been acknowledged. No water, no bread, no order for drinks was taken including no menus. The waiter came over and said they ran out of food, there was no veal cutlet parm nor was there any appetizers. I ordered a veal chop and the waiter said there is none. Needless to say I was confused did they run out of all veal? So, my husband and I did make the choice, I must say in all the confusion the food was good. We were told they were sorry but there was a wedding going on along with a party this is why it was not running right. This statement made no sense since parties and weddings are planned way in advance. Needless to say, we will never, ever go back there.
Good food excellent service only drawback the doors to patio were open leaving it warm inside
I have had hundreds of meals at Acappella in NYC and NJ and have always been more than pleased. In Edgewater, they have missed the mar
My wife and I took our friend to this wonderful restaurant for dinner. The food was delicious. And the service and wine were excellent. We especially recommend the spiendini alla romano and raw oyster appetizers and the branzino and halibut entrees. Special thanks to Maitre D’ Pietro who always goes out of his way to insure a memorable dining experience.
The service was outstanding. The owner/chef offered grappa and a personal touch. The risotto was my favorite, I will be back. The veal lacked flavor and was pounded paper thin probably will not order it again. Other than that a great evening!
Consistent food in a quiet pleasant atmosphere.
