Acadiana Ratings and Reviews
For Sunday brunch service was slow but not out of the norm for the high volume of customers. My friend had a few dishes that were under seasoned, but the waitress was very accommodating (offering substitutions etc). The prefixe menu was a good deal, but I'll probably avoid those underseasoned dishes.
A friend and I had a wonderful experience here. Everything was delicious.. we had Charbroiled Oysters, Shrimp & Grits and Beignets for dessert. Very authentic and flavorful. The jazz was the perfect touch as well, not intrusive but enjoyable. Great experience here all around!
Acadiana is my favorite restaurant. This was my first visit for dinner as I usually go for brunch. Very cozy and peaceful. My name was printed on my menu with a birthday message, nice touch!
Our coffee could have been hotter along with the fried green tomatoes but the overall food was delicious. Still my #1 restaurant in D.C.
From start to finish everything was on point. The barrel aged Manhattan's, the turtle soup, and the charbroiled oysters were all a great start. Service was attentive and happy, unusual for .any DC restaurants, and we wanted for nothing.
The duck is just flat out awesome and the veal and grits give it a run for its money. Desert and cordial rounded out the evening unrushed and delicious.
One of the very few restaurants in the DMV that offers authentic, original, Creole-style, Nawlins food that you will keep coming back for. The service was great and the location is easy to get to. The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate all size groups.
Overall dining experience was good. The food was delicious, the server was friendly, and the restaurant has a good ambience. My only issue is how long it took to get out food out. We were heading to an event at 11 p.m. so I figured a 9:30 reservation/ 1.5 hours was more than enough time to eat and get there. Unfortunately we didn't get it appetizers until 45 minutes after we sat down, so that threw us off schedule off the bat. I ended up having to leave my friends and skip dessert so that I could check in at the 11pm event. The food I had was tasty and the waiter has handsome and a fun spirit, so I'll let the delay slide 😉
We were so disappointed with our dining experience at Acadiana on New Year's Eve night. The service was pleasant, but very slow. Even the alcoholic beverage service was tortoise-paced.
Food delivery was slow, and after-dinner coffee was served cold. Key, favored menu items were removed from the special holiday menu, and that was disappointing--understandable, but disappointing. While the signature etouffee was delicious, the crispy duck was over salted and the accompanying greens were overly sweet.
The trout was mediocre, and the sweet tea creme brulee was trying too hard to be special, when the regular creme brulee is exquisite. I'm not sure what happened on New Year's Eve, but I certainly hope that in 2018 Acadiana returns to its normal status of excellent cuisine in Washington, DC.
Arcadiana is my go to spot for Sunday brunch. The bottomless Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's make for a festive time. The entree price includes appetizer, and dessert. I hade the veal and grits which was supreme. Grits were fresh, spicy, and the veal well braised and delicious. My companions enjoyed shrimp and grits and the eggs benedict all of which came to the table hot and ready to enjoy. The appetizers including the Boudain Balls were especially flavorful. Want a great spot for brunch with live jazz, a friendly crew and a clever and thoughtful chef? This is your place.
The quality of the food has really declined here in the past few years. Soups were good but entrees were poor. Crab cakes were mushy and reds fish was tasteless with poor presentation. Desserts were terrible. Restaurant was only 1/3 full but Manager insisted on sitting us in back by noisy kitchen with ugly view even though we insisted on sitting in main dining room. We were told that this was more fair to their servers and allocation of resources. We were told to take it or leave it. Very rude. They were understaffed and it showed. I will never go back.
Restrooms are clean. Service was excellent. Drinks were delivered immediately after ordering . Food was on the table within 15 minutes of ordering. Waiter appeared every time a glass was half empty to see if we wanted more. I planned on trying the shrimp and grits to compare with Miss Shirley's version but ordered the bbq cobia special. The rice was hearty and delicious. The fish was firm and flavorful. I would have preferred less bbq sauce but overall, excellent. My husband ordered crab cakes and collards. Both were meaty and seasoned to perfection. Again, a little more sauce than I'd like but my husband loves sauce on everything so they were fine to him. The collards and rice sides were outstanding. They'd be a great meal on their own.
What horrible service!! We were seated for 15 minutes before anyone came to help us. The biscuits were hard, dry, and cold. Our server literally sat down at the bar and ate without giving us or tab. My friend had to go to the bar and get our checks. I love the food at Acadiana. But I will not be back because the service is that bad.
My first time at this restaurant and it is now one of my favorites! I was dining solo, and was greeted warmly from the moment I arrived. The server had wonderful suggestions and I put myself in her hands. My only regret is that I wasn't able to try everything!
Highly recommend the char-broiled oysters. You'll want to dip the delicious French bread into the sauce! She also recommended the deviled eggs so I'll try those on my next visit.
Next was the BBQ shrimp prepared in the traditional Louisiana style. Once again, the sauce was spectacular --and there's bread, too! The shrimp were cooked perfectly and were generously sized. They do come with their heads (and tails) on but they're easily removed.
Of course I was stuffed but had to try the pecan tart. Amazing dessert!
An excellent meal, with top-notch friendly and attentive service. Highly recommend and can't wait to return.
Had lunch with family here for my 40th birthday. Not my first visit as Acadiana is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. Tried the shrimp and grits this time...the flavor was amazing and the sauce was good enough to "sop up with a biscuit". Just delicious. Everyone else who came with me left nothing on their plate. No missed marks when it comes to food, flavor or service. I always feel like my money is well spent at Acadiana. You can always expect great service from the greeting at the door until you are helped into your coats upon leaving. They even made me feel extra special this go round with a specialized menu acknowledging my special occasion and a plate of after lunch sweets to top everything off. No doubt I will be back again. Thank you to Ben for the great attentive service!
