Acadiana Ratings and Reviews
Acadiana never disappoints. Deliciously prepared food, with great wine list and recommended parings. I never have to wait, get the red carpet treatment from always friendly, welcoming hosts/hostesses, and highly trained servers never make me wait for anything at the table either. Great if you are meeting old friends and need to be able to hear to catch up!
I have been numerous times and the food is always good. This time though the jazz band is way too much noise in the small venue. The drums echo and we were sitting at other side of restaurant and visiting with family from out of town. Our service was awful. I never got asked to refill my coffee and always had to hunt the waiter down. We didn't even realize the brunch special is three courses, something been nice to know as we sat down or were told about when being told about the special of the day. I would say this was my worse experience at the restaurant and felt embarrassed to bring my family who never travel to Washington DC here for brunch.
I was in town an had time for a dinner, so I thought I'd try this Cajun restaurant, as I had planned for many years already.
The appetizer etouffe was more a gumbo. Nicely spiced but the crawfish were quite chewy. The pork chop was nicely smoked but dry.
We got a seat in the back (on the way to restroom/banquet hall and in front of the kitchen window... probably because I came with a little one. That was quite hectic there. But the restaurant itself appeared to be hectic an noisy as well.
No need to come back for me (should have gone to R.T.'s instead...)
It has been a while since we had the opportunity to enjoy Acadiana - and it certainly did not disappoint. Great Brunch! We had eggs benedict, Acadiana benedict, crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, French toast, and Shrimp Etouffee and it was all wonderful!! $5 cocktails were great!
Service was spectacular.
Waitress was a bit hit-or-miss, but food was delicious. Pork boudin balls appetizer is sooo, sooo good, and shrimp and grits is full of flavor (and shrimp! Acadiana is NOT stingy with the shrimp!!) Fried green tomatoes were a mushy disappointment, though. If you go for the fun jazz brunch, ask to sit in the back of the restaurant if you want to have and hear conversation over the music, because it's pretty loud (but fun)
The food and service was very good. Without asking, the server staff filled water glasses and took empty plates away. The biscuits provide at the start of dinner were very good and when we inquired about them, the staff provided us with additional ones. Since the occasion was a celebration of our 42nd wedding anniversary, the ambiance was important. It was quiet and romantic.
Great service from our server JP. Others who served us were just as outstanding. Had wanted to go to this restaurant for quite awhile and I can say it was well worth the wait. The experience was made even better by it being my birthday.and the staff made sure to recognize the occasion by specially designing my desert plate. I highly recommend Acadiana for great authentic Cajun cuisine!
I’ve been to Acadiana a few times over the years, and the food is pretty consistent. My mom was with me, however, and it was her first time. Mauro, our server, was also great! Super friendly, and not overbearingly so; made awesome recommendations for my mom; and, quite hospitable.
Offering traditional Louisiana (New Orleans) dishes, you can’t go wrong with any of the options on the menu—honestly. Even better, the prices are pocket friendly. I’ll be back soon!
I was disappointed that their online menu was not what was available. I was so eager for Jambalaya by authentic chefs. It was not a menu option when I arrived. The food was good but not amazing. Loud and crowded environment. Dessert was equisite...I recommend the bread pudding.
I visit DC about three or four times a year and always try to squeeze in a dinner at Acadiana! I love the NOLA barbecue shrimp, the bourbon and wine selections! This time didn’t disappoint. I’ll be back next time because I’ll get to DC again before I get to NOLA!
Great time with a friend, comfortable booth, elegant dining room without being too fancy or stuffy, attentive and helpful and timely service from a nice and informed server. Great bourbon/rye list for me, and my friend was pleased with the by-the-glass wine selections. Delicious oysters and amazing crab cakes. Back again sometime, for sure.
Good quality and tasty food. I spent my Summers in Natchitoches, LA so it was nice to see the meatpies on their menu. The ambiance is fantastic. The duck is more than filling. The crab cakes are on the small side but slightly tall and full of meat. Your sides are just enough to make you want to order extra. All in all it was a wonderful experience.
A fine dining cajun food experience. The service was attentive, professional, and friendly. The raw oysters were plump, sweet and very fresh. Devilled eggs creative and delicious. Main course orders were Blue Catfish, Shrimp and Grits, and Ravioli. All were unique and excellent.
