Love Acadiana, always one of my favorites! So sad they are closing, hope they turn up someplace else sometime soon.
Great food, great service. Our server was very helpful in answering questions and making excellent recommendations. Loved the food!
Food amazing ...service slow
Delicious. Fine dining with being stuffy. Washington DC prices, so not cheap but not excessive. Party of 4 all ordered different items. All superb. Great menu variety. High quality meals. Service a little slow due to crowds. Bar area not sound separate from dining. Loud group at bar disrupted ambience. Restaurant could use a glass/plastic divider between bar and restaurant. Highly recommend.
Limited vegetarian options. Food was oversalted and raviolis were so thick as to be uncomfortably chewy and dense.
Acadiana never disappoints, which is why I am sad that they will be closing at the end of the year. I have dined at this restaurant countless times and each time the food quality and taste has been exceptional and consistent. The wait staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The cajaun-creole inspired menu makes this place a unique gem in DC.
I'm definitely sad to see Acadiana close it has an amazing Creole feel and the food is amazing.
I love the charboiled oysters, BBQ duck with greens and dirty rice as well as the strawberry martini.
I hope they open back up next year in DC in a new location.
Very disappointed that Acadiana is closing! Most hopeful it will reopen elsewhere in DC at a less expensive building. Acadiana is the only authentic southwest Louisiana style cuisine restaurant in Washington- don’t leave!
We were very disappointed mainly at the quality of the food.
The gumbo didn’t taste right, it was so bland, gumbo should not be bland.
The signature dish of bbq shrimp was awful. The shrimp were definitely the cheaper kind. It also tasted over cooked and mushy. It almost seemed as if this dish was pre made, because the shrimp looked like it didn’t have the flavors of the sauce properly infused into them.
Over all we’ve noticed a big decline in the quality of the food here.
What a shame! This was our favorite restaurant in DC. But I guess times change.
Plus - SALAD was surprisingly good - highlight for both of us - with excellent homemade salad dressing, well balanced, and very fresh ingredients. Service was efficient and adequately attentive.
Minus - Gumbo was good for commercial (versus homemade), but was served barely lukewarm :-(, beignet was heavy and slightly gummy, decor was a bit dated
I love this restaurant and I'm so sad they're closing. Where else am I going to find the best charbroiled oysters in D.C.? Also very good shrimp and grits and roasted brussels sprouts.
We were celebrating my dear friend’s birthday. Acadiana is one of our favorite DC restaurants and the noise level isn’t too high for conversation. We ordered drinks then the charbroiled oysters. For entrees, we ordered the swordfish special and catfish entree. It was all really tasty. The birthday boy wanted the lemon bread pudding for dessert. Lemon and blueberry is a delicious pairing.
Terrific restaurant. I’m totally bummed that they are closing at the end of this month!
We ate here for lunch during a conference at a nearby hotel. The service and food were wonderful. It is such a shame that it will be closing next month, hopefully it will relocate somewhere close. The shrimp and grits were amazing@
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I was so sad to hear that it will be closing at the end of the year. But I am glad that I was able to enjoy another nice dinner here. My boyfriend had never been to the restaurant, so I was happy that we were able to enjoy Acadiana together before they close.
Delicious dishes but not quite New Orleans Commodore caliber. The 3 soup sampler was enjoyable and lite. The entree BBQ shrimp underwhelmed and I was still hungry. So I had dessert. I never had lemon bread pudding with blueberry ice cream before and it was yummy but safe. The Bartender was terrific. The Basil Belle uses Old Toms and fresh basil. The place was rocking on Sunday night.
Our server Tony took amazing care of us! The entire meal and attention to detail was exemplary.
Has a great time, the live jazz was enjoyable and the food was fabulous. Sunday Brunch is highly recommended
Great dinner and fantastic service by Garrett. Sorry to hear they are closing. Hope they relocate!
Everything was great!!!
Every visit to Acadiana, over the past 10 or more years, has been a positive experience, and leaves us wanting more. The spot-on service, food, and especially the crispy and delicious roasted duck, is always worth a return visit. We will be back!
Hands down, one of the best dinners I’ve had, ever (and I eat a lot). Our food was incredible as was our server, Oscar.
He had excellent recommendations and was very attentive. It was my friend’s last night in DC and this was a perfect farewell. Definitely coming back.
Good place for brunch. Always room at the bar for drinks until your late friends arrive!
Good food and drinks. Restaurant/hostesses were extremely accommodating. Live jazz music was a great touch. Our server was kind, although everything we ordered took FOREVER to come. I mean, an uncomfortably long time. Not sure if she just had too many tables or the kitchen/bar were that backed up, but we found ourselves frustrated waiting for food and to pay the tab. Would still try the brunch again.
Third time for Sunday jazz brunch, which is a good value, fun atmosphere. Food and service usually a tad better than this visit -- charbroiled oysters were delicious, but pork boudin balls had too heavy a hand with the parmesan crust, which overpowered. Bacon was greasy and very smoky flavor so avoid if you don't care for that. Shrimp and grit cake was good -- they're generous with the shrimp and cook it perfectly. Pecan tart was super sweet and runny. Waitress made herself fairly invisible; we would have sent the bacon back if she had checked to see how our meal was.
Musicians were great, and Acadiana is a very pretty, festive restaurant.
Awesome but I wanted to see the band . They have them.set up behind the door.
Great food and ambiance. Service is awesome. Offers a diverse menu to satisfy any palate!
My friends and I had a marvelous time. Great food, drinks and ambiance. Would recommend it again and again. My friends are still talking about it 3 days later!
I have eaten dinner and had cocktails several time and fine the drinks unique and the food is consistently excellent.
Acadiana is my go-to for out of town guests - especially for brunch!
This creole food is tasty, with the right amount of spice, and with great portions - I always need to take some of my meal to-go! They don't skimp on anything from the food to the drinks to the friendly service. Brunch is great for the value and the live band.
I have never been disappointed at Acadiana! I love this place!
All was great. Sat at the bar and ate to avoid the noise.
Server was very personable. Food was good.
Great meal, great service, great location near the convention center. A little loud for a detailed business meal but the food and service more than makes up for it! Fifth time I’ve been to a trade show here, but 14th time to eat here. My customers are always impressed!
Terrific wild mushroom ravioli as a starter, followed by pan-roasted crisped duck breast that was perfectly done, accompanied by dirty rice and collard greens. The lemon bread pudding with blueberry compote was quick good, but the blueberry ice cream accompanying it didn't have sufficient flavor. That was the only part of the meal that was disappointing.
We very much enjoyed finding this restaurant. I loved the decor and the wide open feeling of space. The tables were spaced well and we felt we had privacy for our evening. We LOVE seafood and we wanted a bit more quiet evening for our last night in DC. The waiter was helpful and was there when we needed him. Our food was excellent and we were very happy with our choices. The oysters were perfect. We will be back on our next visit to DC.
The food was so great at this restaurant that my business colleagues and I came back for seconds. I'm not a fish fan, but I cannot say no to fried Southern catfish. You get two really big pieces of fish with hoppin john and sweet potatoes. I ordered a side of collard greens which were fantastic. My friend ordered the red snapper and it was so good he ordered it again the second night. The second night, I ordered a dinner of sides -- collard greens, red beans and rice, gumbo and roasted brussel sprouts. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you are staying at the Marriott Marquis downtown. It is literally just a one block walk to the restaurant.
The barbecue shrimp was great and the crab cake was unique . The service was great and I will be back again .
This place is a gem! Everything was excellent, no complaints whatsoever.
I brought my best friend here for her Birthday Brunch and we absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, and service was fantastic. The birthday menu for my best friend was a surprising and wonderful gesture. Highly recommend for a great Sunday Brunch.
Lovely place to eat! Food was so good! Get the duck entree and the turtle soup!
