Abruzzo Italian Kitchen opened in December 2017. As is the Italian tradition, our focus is on the quality of our ingredients and simplicity of preparation. We cook by hand, from scratch, including all of our fresh pastas and wood fired pizzas. In addition to the Italian staples, we offer an extensive shared plates selection, grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and a small but decadent dessert list, all prepared in-house and served alongside an Italian-focused cocktail program and an Italian-centric wine list. My sister and I had a lovely time! The food was incredible and drinks delicious! We had the elk tar tar, arugula salad, beet salad, mushroom Bianca pizza, and carbonara pizza. All dishes were really, really tasty, one of the best pizzas I have had in this area!

We came in an hour early to our reservation, which was a mistake on our part. Fortunately they had a seat for us. Food was great! Service was just right. Love this spot every time we visit Whitefish.

This is a lovely restaurant with a great menu. Service was fantastic. Food came out less than warm, however. Had to send it back to refute. Flavors were very nice! Carbonara could be more flavorful, but all other food way delish!

2023 March visit to Abruzzi was excellent. My wife is GF and the server handled this perfectly. We had a sausage and fennel GF pizza, Italian chopped salad also GF and her entree of Carbonara GF, my entree of Bolognese (not GF). Everything was outstanding with rich flavor and fresh ingredients. The pizza was terrific, but I thought both pasta dishes were perfect- great seasoning and preparation. We couldn't fit dessert in this visit. The service from our waitress was also perfect. She knew the menu and the ingredients and was there every time we needed something. As a busy place it can get louder than I prefer, but happy they have the following so the business continues. A Whitefish gem for certain.

Martina was excellent. Our only complaint is the two top tables are so close together it makes for awkward conversation at the table. It felt like we couldn't visit without disrupting the other tables who are literally two feet away.

Seated promptly upon arrival, 7:45 Feb 15. Server came by within 5 minutes. They were pleasant. Took wine order (+/-$100) and returned relatively quickly with correct bottle. Wine was excellent. Server took food order and recited it back correctly. Food was delivered within 20 minutes, wild boar ragu (correct) and a margherita pizza (incorrect), should have been mushroom bianca with $10 truffle addition. Server apologized and said 3-5 minutes for correct pizza. I believe that dishes for a table of two should be served together so we can eat together. In my experience, when the wrong dish is served both dishes are removed and served together later, once the correct dish is prepared and served. After 10 minutes the correct pizza showed up. It was an average pizza. Not great; not horrible. Topping flavors were mild and unremarkable, and the crust flavour was ok but it hardened very quickly. The truffle addition was not worth it for me. While there was plenty of truffle shavings, they lacked even a minimal amount of flavour. Too old, maybe? Wild boar ragu was very good, flavour and texture. Ordered the tiramisu. Too dry for me and light on coffee and brandy flavour. No recognition by the server upon presentation of the bill of the wrong order and delay in service, and no comp offered. Poor value for $210 with tip.

The location of the restaurant is difficult to find because of parked cars blocking the small entrance and signage of the restaurant. Dining there was fine but not great. My Lasagne was so hot it burned my mouth. As a result, I waited a long time for it to cool down enough to be palatable. The service was adequate. Not sure I would return to this restaurant when visiting Whitefish.
