   The food at Abrazo was very good. We enjoyed all the small plates we ordered. The restaurant bills itself as Spanish. The food served was in the Spanish style, with some Spanish ingredients but it's not the food of Spain. It's more of a California take, or a very inventive chef's take on Spanish food. There are several restaurants in San Francisco that serve authentic Spanish food, Abrazo isn't one of them. If you want a very good dining experince, go to Abrazo, but it's not Spanish.

   Abrazo is consistently excellent and one of our neighborhood favorites. We took friends there on a busy Saturday evening and they were hooked. Fresh oysters, butter lettuce salad, sole, scallops, roast chicken and great olive bread. Excellent wine and a great Abrazo experience.

   This was the third time I’ve been here, and it keeps getting better every time. We had a number of share plates and all of them were outstanding. And the bread! Regardless of what you normally do about bread in a restaurant,, make sure you get this bread. It is worth every gram of carbohydrates. We also had the meatballs, carrots, oysters, croquetas, and the ricotta donut balls (not their real name) for dessert. Would order everything again. Service was on point. Prices were reasonable.

   We got all small plates, split among 4 people and everything was amazing and creative. Each one left me wanting more but that washed away with the next plate coming along at exactly the right time. The cured salmon was in my dreams. Highly recommended! And skip Swensen's across the street in favor of the crazy good house made ice cream.

   We've been there before and will certainly go back. The staff is amazingly welcoming and helpful, the drinks are off the charts and the food is fantastic. It's not cheap by any means, but it's totally worth every penny. Parking in the area is next to impossible, so take public transportation or a cab/uber for the best experience. That neighborhood is packed with people and cars and has essentially zero (0) public parking lots. Nothing is worse than driving around for 30+ min trying to find a spot to park before your meal -- but that has nothing to do with Abrazo itself, just the reality of the neighborhood. And here's the punch-line... I'll deal with that parking situation every single time I go because Abrazo is totally worth it! I highly recommend dining there.

   We ordered all tapas and enjoyed the uniqueness of each one. The ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and unmasked. The signature bread with green olives embedded is a just-right texture. Abrazo is a weeknight "retreat" for us, as it brings to the plate and atmosphere our memories of Espana!

    Perfect Russian Hill neighborhood restaurant! Warm and friendly ambiance with great drinks and food. Everything is housemade, down to the ice cream. Good for a family celebration as well as for an intimate dinner.

    Went here for Valentine’s Day. They had a Valentine’s Day Menu which we didn’t know was a fixed menu for that night (couldn’t order off the regular menu) so that was kind of unfortunate but overall the atmosphere was fantastic and the food was delicious! Highly recommend the ahi tuna and their wine selections!

    Abrazo is consistently excellent. Great food with a Spanish flair, superior service and much more than a very good neighborhood favorite. We stared with small plates (Octopus, Butter lettuce and amazing olive bread) moved to Petrare Sole and the Paella. Everything was superior (Wine and dessert first class and reasonable.) Can’t miss at this remarkable restaurant.

    Mike is an outstanding chef who gets details right. We travel to Spain a lot and this place will transport you to the Costa Brava. Excellent execution if octopus, patatas bravas, albodingas (meatballs), and big drink selection with cava and sangria. BEST SORBET EVER, flavors like prickly pear, blackberry, coconut lime, all vegan. All house made. Amanda is a wonderful server, attentive and fun. The menu has classic favorites and always a few new things. PARKING is **VERY** difficult here, if you are coming from Marina, Cow Hollow take the 45 bus, it stops right at the corner.

    I live in the neighborhood and often bring out of town company and friends from other parts of the Bay Area to Abrazo because I know the food will be excellent and the service will be amazing. I like that while there are some consistent food choices, the menu changes on a regular basis. The owner/chef is very visible. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and the wine choices (which are reasonably priced). Save room for home made ice cream!

    Delicious food and superb service. The lamb and pork were amazing! The bartender took our drink order which I appreciated! He came to our table to ask and was so knowledgeable about the cocktails and wines. The servers and manager were so attentive and friendly. Loved it!

    Excellent food in a warm and cozy environment. Good service but not intrusive. Even though the restaurant was full the noise was fine and you could hold. A conversation could be held at a normal range. The octopus appetizer and pork loin main course were excellent. For dessert treat yourselves to the bunuelos.

    What an absolutely magical Christmas Eve dinner. Arrived early. Nestled ourselves in a darling cozy waiting room and had a cocktail. Had persimmons & the roasted carrots for a starter. Sublime. The wait for the roasted chicken was well Wirth it. Dessert, French press and espresso helped us make it through midnight church service. Wonderful food. Attentive staff. Great location.

    Christmas dinner with friends at a neighborhood quaint restaurant. We had a table for seven and sat in the back of the restaurant. The back area did not have the ambiance like the front side of the restaurant. We ordered many dishes. Everything was good but none of the dishes were outstanding for the price. The restaurant forgot our paella dish but we ordered too many so it was fine. The chicken was dry.

    My wife took me here for my birthday on a Sunday night. The owner, Michael Pawlik, greeted us at the door and said, "Happy Birthday". We requested a quite table as the main dining room was lively, and I'm hard of hearing. We were offered a table in a separate dining room and had it to ourselves for most of our evening. We didn't feel particularly hungry, but the menu had many tasty sounding items, so we ordered 4 small plates and one main course. Since this was our first visit to Abrazo, I asked our waiter if we have overlooked anything that is a specialty and shouldn't be missed. Our food arrived, beautifully presented, and extremely delicious. We had just returned from 3 weeks in northern Italy and our elevated palette's we not disappointed in the least. By this time, I had forgotten that we were not hungry, and I immediately added to our order the Bone Marrow from the small plates menu that our waiter had recommended earlier. Don't miss it, please! The selection of Spanish wines is very good. Some Michael orders directly from Spain and you won't find them in your local Enoteca. I finished my meal with an espresso martini. Our waiter recommended the vanilla ice cream with rosemary and caramel. OMG!!!! I cannot wait to go back! We had walked to dinner from our hotel near Union Square, which means we walked for 25 minutes up to Nob Hill and across Russian Hill to get to Abrazo, and we walked back to our hotel because we wanted to savor the experience of the evening. One last thing. I've never written a review for anything, but Michael and his crew deserve to be recognized and rewarded for what they are achieving here.

    First time. We decided to try Abrazo because of its high rating. It exceeded expectations. The albondigas (meatballs) were the best we've ever had! The scallops were prepared beautifully. We will definitely be back.

    Great ambience with exceptional service. The food was delicious! We ordered an entree of halibut and small plates ( butter lettuce salad, oysters and scallops). Presentation, food quality and over deliciousness were 5 star! I ordered the coconut sorbet w/lime for dessert. Perfect! Not crowded at 7:00 pm. weeknight.

    Abrazo is a hidden gem in the Russian Hill neighborhood. The food was fantastic and delicious with moderate portions. We started with grilled octopus and the house cured salmon. Then we had the exquisite lamb shank and the half-roasted chicken entrees. All tasted amazing. Reservations are almost a must on a Saturday as it's a smaller venue. Amanda our server was excellent and attentive.

    Abrazo continues to deliver great food and service and its consistency is to be admired. This time I came with several friends, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, commenting on how good the various dishes we had, including the paella, were. Excellent deserts too.
