Cheese burger was great. I reserved for my boyfriend birthday, host said we will receive complimentary glass of wine, but never received it. I asked for a glass of wine never received it. They don't carry A1 sauce for their steak, that my boyfriend ordered. Probably wouldn't recommend nor return.
Great cute date night restaurant, excellent service and the ambiance is very comforting.
The hostess was awesome and attentive. A friend and I enjoyed the food and drinks, we will be back.
DJMC, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are happy that you had an enjoyable experience with us. We look forward to seeing you again!
My boyfriend and I went this past weekend just for our usual dining out date night and it definitely met our expectations and beyond. The salmon was amazing, the sauce they use to put on top was just wow. Our waiter at the end who brought us our check was amazing. We requested the bread pudding for dessert but asked to add ice cream and caramel drizzle on top and he did the whole thing and it was amazing!!! Definitely recommend asking for bread pudding and ice cream and drizzle! Definitely coming back for that. Best bread pudding ever. Cannot remember the waiter but he was incredibly sweet and so accommodating and even said he is going to recommend the bread pudding that way now, thought it was great! Overall amazing. Value was only because of the drink menu but honestly, overall it was a 5! I rarely say a place is great to try but you should definitely try this place. It’s hidden away in Hotel Julian. Perfect for a smart casual date, not too casual but enough to wear something so cute with comfortable shoes. Can’t wait to have the bread pudding again! And salad was a perfect size! I read someone said it was small and it definitely was not compared to other restaurants in the city who are small. We had the salad as the appetizer, just to keep in mind!:)

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are happy you enjoyed your visit with us. We will take this into consideration.
I had a sticker on my salad. Tiny salad. Had multiple servers who messed up our orders. WILL NOT RETURN.
Thank you for patronage and feedback. We take this very serious and will look into this further.
Great pace to stop when on busy Michigan Ave. Great atmosphere, Excellent service and good food.
Thank you Boblew. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us.
The menu has changed since my last visit and I missed the great salads that used to be on the menu
First steak ordered well done no butter. Came out medium well with butter on it allergy affected. Second steak ordered medium rare, came out medium well. Brussels sprouts under cooked. Steak knife came out dirty.
Nice fun hotel little cafe and bar..
Didn’t realize this was a hotel bar but didn’t disappoint. Food and drinks were well made!
The food was mediocre. Nothing that I order again even if it was cheap
It was a great place to hang out
Restaurant week choice. Excellent menu and value for the price
Excellent service throughout . We were fortunate to be there during restaurant week and loved the variety of food , all appealing to the eyes and pallet .
Belle ambiance, prix trop élevé pour la quantité de nourriture
Was excited to try this place out.... very disappointed! Service was lacking and unhelpful. Server never explained about items on the menu and didn’t know about them when we asked. Food was really good and nice presentation but... we won’t be back.
Great steak, great service. But those were the most uncomfortable chairs I have experienced in a restaurant, ever. I could feel the wire frame poking through the unpadded leather the whole time. I'm an average sized guy. Maybe a very skinny person would find it less uncomfortable?
The crab cake, advertised as an entree, was the size of an appetizer at it’s best, although a good crab cake. The waitress could not explain how “poached chicken” is prepared.
About Last Knife looked nice when we entered. Our waitress was fine...she wasn’t overly friendly or over the top regarding service but she was pretty good. We ordered a few things. There is one word to describe almost everything. It was ok. Not great, not super...just ok. The one thing I had that didn’t hit the ok mark was the Wellington. It was dry! It’s a cool idea to have a big piece of Wellington under that light to show it off but I think that compromised it. It was dry and not wonderful. Then, to top it all off, it was very expensive. I will not be returning. There are way too many wonderful restaurants in the city to repeat that kind of place.
I liked the room it was well decorated and intimate. I had a slice of Beef Wellington that was outstanding. The mashed potatoes were not as good. Had a delicious dessert.
The rougher chop on the mushrooms for the Wellington was a delightful improvement. It added a nice texture. and I appreciate the au jus Suace addition. Great improvements!
The food was absolutely delicious. We had turkey dinner and a burger.
It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great. I can’t say I’d return. I expect a lot more for the amount of money spent here.
We had the Thanksgiving special which was very good, but a bit skimpy on the portions.
Deviled eggs were sooo good! Entrees were good! Brussel Sprouts were undercooked. Dessert was delicious!
Everything was good they were just out of some items on the menu and it was a weekday probably better stocked on the weekend . Also they happy hour specials are great I work nearby and will definitely be going for happy hour the drink and appetizers specials are great
The beef wellington was just awesome! I loved the somewhat open kitchen. We were seated near the back of the room and it was fun to watch the 2 chefs cook away. They seemed to love their job. Steaks cooked to perfection without a piece of fat on the filet anywhere. Flourless chocolate cake was scrumptious!
the food was cold and the waitress didn't seem concerned about it when we let her know.
The food was mediocre and portions were very small for the price. The server acted more like what you would find in a diner than a place with these prices. When there's so many other restaurants in the city doing this type of menu very well I would not go here.
I was there one year ago and it was great, the Wellington beef was perfect and only cost 19 dollars. But this time the price is 26 dollars ! Insane. We went there for "brunch" fancy way to say lunch. My friend ordered the prime rib sandwich and asked it medium rare, the kitchen said no sorry we only have it well done ?!?!?! So that means this is the only steakhouse (so called) in town where you can have only one way to cook meat. Interesting concept. So my friend said no sorry i prefer the burger instead, and medium rare. The beef patty was just made with poor pieces of meat and grease and of course overcooked...not a fan ! I had the cubano style sandwich and it was just ok but very salty like the fries. Clearly the people who work there don't know what they are doing. And the chef must have take a very long vacation break...
Salmon was excellent. Great service!
Nice place and service, food and cocktails were good
Server great. Patio wonderful- food good & value $$ during happy hour.
Good place to go for Happy Hour. Some good menu items and drink specials. The sliders on the App menu looked great. The Steak Sandwich was good, but not great...limited beers, but this is a bar/restaurant in a boutique hotel. The staff was nice and a good place to stop in before a play.
The two waitresses were pleasant but overworked. The restaurant was too noisy to hold a conversation, and we had to wait an extraordinarily long time for food and drinks. While delicious, we would have preferred to at least hear each other. One of our party could not participate at all. Dishes were nicely sized - not too large - and delicious. Just slow and very, very noisy. A third waitress would have helped - as would some kind of noise absorption on the walls and/or ceiling.
Fantastic! The steak sandwich is spectacular. Service great and the location is perfect.
The Beef Wellington Benedict is fantastic for brunch!
The staff was fabulous. They were very pleasant and the timing of things were perfect. The restaurant is noisy. It’s trendy so it’s not out of line. Plus the big doors were open to all the hustle and bustle of Michigan Avenue. The food taste was very good. The Brussel sprouts were super size fabulous and one member of our party got the shrimp cocktail and it was excellent. So pick your favorite things and you will walk away happy.
