Abington Ale House And Grill
The appetizers, like boneless Buffalo wings or kung pao chicken wraps highlight the different inspirations at Abington Ale House and Grill. There are also many salads, soups, sandwiches and burgers that will make you full and satisfied.
A great meal experience as always. It was St. Patty's weekend, so the noise volume was pretty high
Naturally it took some time for us to be seated because it was busy. Even though we used Open Table still we ended up waiting 10 mins.
It was Sabrina's 21st Birthday and it was great to have a reservation. We sat right down. My Hamberger was not medium but it was good. The waitress was wonderful and Sabrina loved your cupcake. I love the onion strings and my husband kept sneaking them all night. It was a fun night and affordable because Sabrina's meal was free on her birthday. Thank you Ale house!!!
Samantha was a wonderful waitperson. Very attentive
Excellent meal, great service
Looking for a relaxing date night with my boyfriend. Did open table so we wouldn’t have to wait for a table, which worked out well. They seated us in the bar area next to a party of at least 12-15 people which had another party of 10 next to them. They were both loud plus the music going and a full bar area on top of that. I couldn’t hear anything. I had such a headache by the time we left. They didn’t ask our seating preference at the door, if they had I would’ve asked for the dining room. Of course, I didn’t want to be a pain by asking for a different table when there were more ppl waiting at the door as it was. But seating a couple right next to two loud parties doesn’t seem like it makes much sense to me.
Had a great waitress and great table for our group!
YOUR RESTAURANT WAS EXCELLENT. I TOOK MY HUSBAND FOR HIS BIRTHDAY. THE WINE WAS EXECELLENT. THE MEAL (SCALLOP CASEROLE) WE BOTH HAD IS WAS WONDERFUL. THE LITTLE SENTIMENT YOU GAVE US SINGING HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND BRINGING US A CHOCOLATE CUPCAKE WAS THE BEST. KEEP HAVING THE EAT FREE ON YOUR BIRTHDAY PROMOTION.
SINCERELY, SUSAN CAREY
Always can count on the Ale House for a good meal. Service was goo with friendly staff. Good casual dining at reasonable prices
Restaurant didn’t have reservation but was able to sit us. Ordered steak tips medium rare and they arrived grey. Son had dry chicken fingers. Never got asked about refills. Waitress seemed annoyed we didn’t want dessert.
Refused to give my 12 year old twins their free birthday dinner because I did not have proof of their age. I didn’t know their policy of having to bring a birth certificate for children to get a free meal on their bday. Who carries around their kids’ birth certificates? It’s not like they are old enough to have an ID. And we were out to dinner with their grandparents. Manager was not the least bit helpful and honoring their bday dinner. My kids only ordered a grilled cheese and a cheeseburger so it’s not like we were trying to fleece the company out of a large amount of money. Out of our $200 bill theirs came to a measly $11.00 and they wouldn’t even honor it. The food was poor quality and I will not be returning after being treated so rudely. I understand their policy but sometimes you need to work with customers if you want return business. It was only $11.
Food good, prices reasonable. Acoustics bad, noisy.
Great service, good variety menu, fun family friendly restaurant. large parking area and a great place to celebrate birthdays.
The food was great. The service was great also. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Great place.
My entre needed seasoning badly.from the sauce to the meat. Pasta was overcooked
Just underwhelming! Next time order the bread you cant go wrong.
Asked for spacious seating and Zack delivered.
Waitress, Taylor, was very friendly and delivered everything we asked for. Food was very good but was hoping for a lobster roll but since it was Sept 1 I guess that option is gone until next summer.
Service was very slow. Waited 15 minutes for her to get us a Togo container. Waitress not very attentive. Very noise in bar area and it was freezing. We had to put a coat on.
There were 4 of us. Our "birthday girl" picked it because on your birthday, your meal is free. They brought out an oversized (delicious) moist chocolate cupcake and candle for her birthday, without being prompted. All the food was very good. I had a Caribbean shrimp salad that was excellent. Another ordered the salmon and said it was delicious. A third ordered the Shephard's Pie and could only eat half of it....and I can't recall the 4th. We had a great waitress who was friendly, available but not intrusive and remembered everyone's order. The atmosphere is homey. It could use a little sprucing up, but it's not so bad you wouldn't go there with friends who enjoy a more upscale atmosphere. It's just "campy" with a very large, active bar scene and we had live music for a Saturday afternoon....a surprise for us.
Not my first trip to Abington Ale House but my first experience on the patio. For a Friday night it was not too loud or busy, mostly people eating dinner with some at the bar. Later in the evening there was more of an issue with people standing and blocking the tvs. Food is mostly pub variety. Plan to visit again.
Does not take reservations for less than 5. Open Table allows for less. Pointed this out to the hostess. Was told too bad.
Katherine our server was awesome!!! The food was good, as it always is. Never disappoints.
It was fathers day and either the were short staffed or they have no clue 15 minutes for drinks 30 minutes for apps and 30 minutes after that for food waitress never came back for us looked completely confused i will go back and try again since she took the apps off the bill and gave us a free dessert but if that didn’t happen i wouldnt have gone back the long food times really werent the problem cause i get the kitchen gets backed up but the waitress should of had been more on top on things drink wise
Very good food for a reasonable price. Portions are large and menu is varied.
Overall, the Abington Ale House has always been a fine dining experience. Unfortunately this time, I believe the fish that I had may have gone bad. I got quite sick immediately after leaving the restaurant. I understand that these things can happen, especially with seafood, and on a very busy day. It did put a bad spin on an otherwise good time.
Been here several times over the past year. Can't wait for the patio to re-open. Always a good time with great food, friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. Handi-capped accessible as Mom is 95 and uses a walker. Fresh fish dishes are always superb.
Awesome food, OpenTable worked great and we will use again!
Very loud couldn’t talk to my giirlfrirnd
with 6 adults the table felt crowded everything else was excellent
This is overall a great place. I had the basil haddock which was delicious. Everyone in my party loved the food. Service was very attentive and open table worked great for being seated promptly. The free meal on your birthday is also a great draw. By all means go there!
Reserved for 7, seated at small corner round in lounge. Should’ve specified we were 7 full sized adults. Spoke to host and he promptly changed our table out for long banquet style table. 🙂 Our waitress was fantastic, handled our large crowd without a complaint!! And that’s a thing! She was awesome!! I think her name was Ali ! She remembered everyone’s order, and didn’t get flustered about a spilt drink. Thank you Alehouse!!😃
It was our granddaughter's birthday she did get a free cupcake but we thought her meal was going to be free too. Our food was good .........the waitress could have checked back more often but in all a positive experience.
We sat near the fireplace and watched the first half of the Patriots game. The food was great and the atmosphere fun. The server fBrandon was awesome!
We just tried this again after a few years of not visiting. And we were overwhelmed how much better the food was than we remembered. Lots of different options! The place is like a museum with lots of nostalgic items to see. The hostess station could use some help - a bit unorganized. Overall - Two Thumbs Up!
Not a great experience, won’t go back. Our party was seated in the bar, we thought the fireplace provided some nice ambiance. The reality is that the noise level is so outrageous it makes the experience intolerable and it was compounded by the 6 times happy birthday was sung, by every server working. Seriously... if you know your acoustics are impossible why compound it with more noise? Isn’t it enough that the birthday honoree eats free? Think about that. Guess mgmt doesn’t have to care - I hear the bar is full all the time. That was bad but our server was astonishingly bad - it didn’t appear she had an unusually large number of tables but she spent time chatting up friends(?) at the bar and made herself scarce. The food was good, basic bar food but not so good as to make the experience worth it. Don’t really understand why the owners make no effort to improve the poor acoustics - that would seem to be an obvious need but since it’s never been addressed what’s obvious is that they don’t spend any time in their own bar. So, there is nothing to recommend this place for.
reservation for nine on a Monday night was set up and ready for our group as planned. Waiter was attentive and pleasant. Plenty of elbow-room at seating arrangement. Good drinks and food. Happy birthday celebration was pleasant for everyone.
Our waiter was VERY nice! I believe his name was MATT. Thanks Matt, you were a superstar!!
We go there all the time. We are usually a party of 6-8 people, sometimes make a reservation. One complaint is that even with a reservation they tend to squish you into a table obviously not meant for that number. When asked if there is anything else roomier the answer is always no even when I can see the long tables past the bar completely empty.
