They claimed we did not have a reservation, but seated us anyway. Shabby, ugly, noisy, but good food.
Food was good, drinks were decent. Service was great. Overall, good experience.
Everything was great - food, atmosphere and service!
Food was good, too bad we had to wait over an hour for it.
Very nice supper
My small group often meets here for Sunday brunch. Service is friendly and food is good in a really nice atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our time and meal at Abigail's. They had a wide variety of options to choose from on both their cocktail and food menu. The food was delicious. The only thing I can think of that was a negative was waiting for our check after our dessert, we waited at least 20 minutes, and there were only a few other tables that the waitress was attending too.
Probably good for much more but I love the brunch, especially the french toast.
Nice neighborhood bar. A bit empty on a Saturday night, so hard to get a sense of the vibe, though we were early. I'd go again if I was in the neighborhood.
Came with a group of 9 woman, most who didn't know each other. Abigail's let me sit early and wait for the group to arrive (who filtered in within 20 minutes from our reservation. They honored separate checks, which was perfect for a group not familiar with one another. Great cocktails and great food.
We enjoyed a quick bite and drinks while sitting outside in their patio. We shared a chicken margherita flat bread and shrimp & yucca fritters. The drinks were generous and the food was tasty. The service was wonderful. Overall, a very nice experience. *However, we have to warn you that the sauce that came with the fritters is very spicy. I like spicy, so it's no biggie for me.
Delicious food. Something for everyone: gluten free, omnivore, and seafood enthusiasts. Food did not get served for the whole table timely. Drink menu unique.
Loud for lunchtime due to music and TVs
Not enough servers.
Hostess could not communicate
Good solid food
I wouldn't return to Abigail's to dine again. It was a "meh" experience, not good, not really bad, just... meh.
It seems like they raised the price of all the meals just to get a few bucks and not give anything back in quality. The steak I had was fine, a little overcooked but still flavorful, not worth it for over $30. My girlfriend had a burger which she called "lackluster" and "missing fun".
The price was a bit extreme at over $100, yes with 6 oysters but without any alcohol.
They put on candle on my dessert (for my birthday), so that was nice, I guess.
Great alfresco dining, which js rare in Boston/Cambridge
Delicious home style cooked meals. A gem and will be back again soon!
PS Get the grilled corn.
Roasted chicken was excellent. Staff was warm and friendly upon arrival and then I was promptly forgotten. Even after reminders they couldn't seem to fit me in between the outside and bar crowd (I was sitting at a high-top just inside the entrance near the bar). I think there was confusion about who was my server (someone from inside or the bar attendant). The disappointment was that even after reminders I was still ignored for a long time.
This was a disappointing experience. My wife and I made reservations to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We were excited to try this place out but ultimately it was regrettable. I included the “anniversary” tag on my reservations along with a note. This information was never reviewed because nobody said anything to us, which was fine but a little disappointing. We started with drinks. I ordered a Negroni, and the server had never even heard of it before. I told him what was in it, and even had to spell it for him. My wife ordered Whistle Pig with a couple rocks. Our drinks came after 15 minutes. We watched them sit on the bar. Multiple people walked by the drinks and let them sit there. Once we got the drinks, we needed to ask for another whistle pig because it was melted completely. We thanked them for fixing it and the gentleman who I presume to be there manager said something to the effect of “no thank you, because now we can drink that one.” It was unprofessional. Oysters were great, and the ribs were tasty as well. Our second round of drinks was 2 pours of Casa Noble tequila. It took another 15 minutes for that round which the server blamed on the bartender. We ordered another round with our entrees, and we waited again for a while. Our server came over and I asked if our drinks would be coming, and he realized he never put the order in. We got the pork schnitzel and the rigatoni. The pork was okay, a little tough and dry. It came with dry starchy mashed potatoes and some kale. The rigatoni was embarrassing. It was boxed pasta with frozen meatballs. I don’t understand how they can proudly put this food out. Our server apologized at the end saying he’s “never worked alone before”. We saw at least 5 people walking the floor and there were only 2 other tables when we were dining. This place has some potential but I do not recommend it. I wanted to email the manager but they have no contact info, so I’m hoping this reaches them.
We ate at Abigail's last night for my husband's birthday. We were greeted by multiple staff members and quickly shown to our table. There's a great list of cocktails, wines and beers. We decided on a bottle of wine. We had the Gouda fries and the shrimp fritters and both were delicious and unique flavor combinations. I had the tofu stirfry for a main. The server told me that the tofu is local, it comes from a place in Cambridge. I'm not a huge fan of tofu but loved it! The hubby had the schnitzel and raved about it. We both had the flourless chocolate cake with whipped cream for dessert- Omg, so yummy! It wasn't cheap, but the quality and quantity were spot on. I would Happily go back to Abigails for a meal!
The food was delicious and a good portion size. Great ambiance with lots of natural light, tucked into a cute corner of Kendall Sq. Service was great too. Would definitely come back for brunch!
Abigail's menu was the first thing that attracted my wife and I here but when we were walking up we thought the patio and the restaurant itself looked incredibly inviting. The staff was wonderful, especially our server Rich who did an outstanding job. The food was delicious and the ambience was great. Overall, I'd say we'll definitely come back!
Lunch was great and service was prompt and friendly.
I’m new to the neighborhood, and hadn’t been in since they opened. I am very pleased to have this spot down the street! It’s still great. Warm hospitality and cool AC for these gross, humid days.
The food was outstanding, the best meal we had in Boston the entire week. Would recommend to anyone.
Went here for brunch on Sunday around 11:30 with my girlfriend. We decided to sit at the bar so we could watch the World Cup match. Although the service was friendly we did feel somewhat unattended. For example, we had to specifically call the bartender over to order food (we were the only ones at the bar) and they initially forgot to pour the second drink my girlfriend ordered. Additionally the tap lines for two of their beers were messed up and the bartender wasn’t aware they had the Bantam cider she ordered in a can (instead asked her to order something else). Food was decent but felt very preprepared for the price. I’ve heard the restaurant has a good dinner menu, but my brunch experience was pretty poor. I don’t think we’ll be back.
Nice! Very tasty, and excellent service
We've been to Abigail's a number of times, and this was the first time we had the opportunity to sit outside on a beautiful summer evening. We all had the shrimp special and and the gazpacho, and both were great. And to start things off, i had one of Rob's Old-Fashioneds. He makes the best in Cambridge. Go and enjoy!
Two thumbs up !!
Great patio! Red snapper entree was good- small portion but tasty.
Definitely try the Gouda Fries!!! Delicious!
I had been here before and remembered the food and drinks as being quite good. I have to say my experience this time wasn't good at all. The salmon salad was horrible! and my friend got a burger and said it was really bad. not sure if it was just an off night, but I'll think twice before going back.
We are "regular's" here but the service was absolutely horrible. It will make me think twice before making reservations here again.
Hands down the best perogies I have ever had. The desserts we wonderful.
Always a nice place, conveniently located and with consistently good food. I will be back!
Interesting menu with food to please any palate. We had a variety of entrees: Russian pierogi, lamb chops, ziti with “Sunday gravy”, pork schnitzel and Colombian seafood stew. Everyone liked their selection. Worth a repeat!
Brunch fare was very good. The service was slow and inattentive in a half filled restaurant. We’d go back for the food and hope for a different server.
I want to like Abigail's because of the location and drink menu but I'm simply done with her. Four of us went to celebrate early on a week night and it took 15 minutes for the server to bring the first two drinks, one of which he promptly dropped off his tray onto my friend. 15 more minutes and the replacement drinks came out. Our meals came before our next round, which we had ordered before the food, and the server gave my friend with a full cocktail a glass to taste the wine two others of us had ordered. I am generally patient with servers but he was so inexperienced and clueless to our needs and it was slow at the restaurant. I felt like we were on Candid Camera to see how much we could put up with. We got little apology for the terrible service and were only offered a refund of the price of the spilled drink. Sorry, Abigail, but I can't see you again.
We got to eat outside witch was lovely. Service was great!
Customer service here has greatly improved. Drinks are excellent and food is good, if not imaginative. Would definitely go back for a post- work drink and quick app.
waiter was bumbling but food was awesome! made my boyfriend's birthday very special
