What Insiders Are Saying
With an adult-friendly dining room, a nice outdoor balcony, an active bar, and large upstairs dance-floor slopfest, Abigaile has something for everyone.
Food was a 10 out of 10! We will be back!
Absolutely love this place. We order about 6 or 7 dishes to share and everything was delicious. Short rib soft and yummy, fantastic Asian noodle dish, skirt steak, cheese platter, Brussels, and salmon all outstanding. Lots of space between tables do you don’t feel crowded. Good music with fun atmosphere.
Great restaurant all around. Can’t believe it took me this long to find it. Nothing on the pier nearby comes close, and that’s before you go to the outdoor upper deck bar.
Enjoy the ambiance, the service and brews! The noise level was very, making it available to communicate easy! My meal was great. Others in party stated they enjoy their meals but after tasting others they stated that they wish to ordered something else that they had tasted. Appetizers were fantastic!
Fantastic food and drinks- wonderful place to go for a date! And the dance floor/club upstairs is fun too!
The food was good. It took roughly 2.5 hours with one app completely
The place and music is very cool! The food wasn’t anything to rave about. The frittata was bland and the ‘special’ drinks were not very good.
I would go back for drinks and apps.
Beautiful space, delicious food and excellent service. Not cheap if you’re looking for value. Brussels sprouts were yummy and crispy. I loved the ground lamb special and my friend loved the eggplant burgers. Cocktails are different and delicious. Only complaint — and hate to say anything negative— was the staff filling water glasses incessantly and making conversation each time to the point where they were disturbing our conversation. The place was surprisingly empty so I guess we got all their attention
We always love coming for the food, but we are consistently disappointed by the service each time.
First date. Low enough noise to have good conversation
Great food, lovely ambiance, but the noise level was too loud for our party, which included a few older folks who had a hard time hearing the conversation.
The food was great, best in a while.
Service was good, but a little slow.
Not as good as they used to be. Felt that way last time. This dinner made me certain.
Abigaile is fantastic. The food was amazing, the drinks were great, ambiance was inviting and fun, and service was friendly and quick. The one area I regret is that they messed up our reservation, and told us we’d have to wait 30 minutes for a table. We ended up finding seats at the bar and enjoyed our time there
I have always loved this place. I have recommended it, been here on dates, and come just to enjoy it when I happen to be in Hermosa. This time was no different, aside from the long wait I had to endure even though I had a reservation at 8pm, was here on time, and many people who came after me with no reservation were seated promptly. The hostess was wonderful and it was not her fault, but it was a little cold out and I was hungry and wanted a drink and don't think I should have had to wait for that long considering I took the time to make the reservations. Aside from that, the service was great, the drinks were great, the ambiance was great, and everything else was on par with what I expect from your restaurant, so thank you.
We had a very nice dinner and experience at Abigail. The food was excellent. Everything we had was top notch. For us, though, ir was a little bit loud. It was tough to hear each other chat at the table. The service was good but a little spotty. We had drink and nachos at the bar before we sat at our table. The cocktail was excellent and my husband enjoyed a unique beer. We will definitely go back.
Great food, ambiance & service!
The restaurant and food were amazing. I would definitely go back.
Great food. We overate it was so good! Was a quiet nite (not always true).
Went for brunch and watching football. Jessica was amazing and the menu was outstanding. Mimosas were delicious too!
I came there for New Year’s Eve. It was $68 for buffet dinner but I certainly did not eat $68 worth of food , and our server was kind of rude. The only thing that was good tasting was the taco bar. A lot of food was running out every time I went to get something so I only had like one and a half plates.
Overall, restaurant was okay and New Year’s Eve was disappointing because no mention of buffet only option was on website and required a deposit. Very unorganized and food was okay.
First time at Abigaile’s after hearing so many good reviews from friends! Did not disappoint! Friendly and awesome service! Food was excellent!!!! Definitely coming back!
This restaurant was gorgeous and the staff was extremely friendly. The food was just okay - nothing to write home about. We had the tempura green beans, grilled broccollini, salmon poke, walnut shrimp, and cauliflower wings. The shrimp was the best plate. Everything else was honestly a little bland, especially the poke.
One thing that is great about this place (and a bunch of other restaurants in that neighborhood) is that you can purchase wine at Uncorked across the street, and you won’t have to pay a corkage fee. It’s a really great deal since the wine at Abigaile is extremely pricy.
Great place for tapas style food. Great for big groups.
The restaurant serves tapas. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. However, some of the dishes took overly long to prepare and the quality was inconsistent. The servers provided outstanding service. The wines were over priced.
Catalina and her supporting staff were on point and the food was great.
Unfortunelty Abigaile has gone down hill compared to the last few years we’ve been. It was the Holidays, and not that we expect Holiday music but they were blaring the hip hop station like it was totally normal at 6pm on a Wednesday before Christmas. Additionally the prime rib was strangely prepared and covered up with greens on a very small severing plate. Over priced and not worth the money any more. Go to the pier instead!
I used to eat at Abigails a lot when it first opened. It was quite good, with some outstanding things on the menu. The last two times I have eaten here, the food was just not good. The last time I ate here the service was also terrible. It took forever to get a drink - we had to flag someone down finally - and same when we wanted to order food. There seemed to be enough staff and it was not that busy. The staff was still pleasant enough, and the cheese balls are always good, but I won't be eating here again.
When our large party didn't opt for the "Family Style" menu, the service level declined. We were only brought 3 food menus for a party of 10, and could feel the tension between us and the wait staff. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun, but I wish the service had been a little more friendly.
Great deal with the burger package! Not so good the craft beer equipment is under maintenance, I would love to try any of the fresh beer batches.
Waitress never offered dessert. Didn’t bring steak knives for our steaks until we were almost finished. Another waitress walked by with cocktails doe another table spilling sone of the contents on my shirt and jacket.
Host sat us at table within a foot of large table occupied by loud and boisterous intoxicated guests. Our waitress had almost no personality and acted like she didn’t want to work there - only smiled once.
Probably not going back.
The Hostess was great and they moved our reservation from 5 guests to 6 during what could have been a very busy night.
We went there because of its location to the Manhattan Beach Christmas Fireworks. We had planned to eat close to the Strand and we knew that the streets in Manhattan Beach were going to be closed off around 5p.
We had been at Abigail s at least 4-5 times previously.
The last 2 experiences were ordinary or worse. My wife said "She wanted to go somewhere else; didn't like Abagail's.
The wait staff was good or better. But the food did not come out at the appropriate times, food for some, but not others. We know that it is a small plate location, but having dinner, you still want some coordination.
The food was/is bad. Sucks actually; and this is not the first time. Having not been there for about 1.5 years except for a beer one night, I suddenly realized why we had not been back in 1.5 years, and it should have/will be longer.
This is not a criticism of the staff. But to Management that it has a sucky menu, and the food is pretentiously bad!!!!
I got a Travelzoo voucher for Abigaile's. It was a good value with the voucher. It is VERY loud, too loud for conversation. Good wine & cocktail list. Interesting appetizers, although most are fried options. I don't need to go back, especially at full price.
Our food was not timed well and the dishes came out almost 30 minutes apart. One of the dishes being noodles with butter that was for a child and it took over 45 mins to get it.
We ordered a few different things and liked it all. We ended up not liking the sauce on the broccollini so they remade for us. Service was good. All good!
Very mediocre brunch. Menu is limited and they are not will to make adjustments to menu items. But the Bloody Mary was very good!
Waited over 10 min each time for waiter. Great place and food, we just had a mediocre waiter
I liked the food and the ambiance a lot. The service was fine but I think we had a waiter in training so a few hiccups but it wasn't bad at all. The price was higher than i thought it would be but i guess since you're walking distance to the beach it's part of the premium. All in all was a good restaurant and I would recommend it to a friend but I wouldn't put it down as a must return.
I made a special request on Open Table for an egg free anniversary dessert and IT WAS FULFILLED! You guys are the best!!! Thank you!
