Always make an effort to eat here when in nyc. Food is always amazing. Food & cocktails did not disappoint again. Service on the other hand was inattentive and sloppy - had to ask for our server multiple times and others kept trying to pick up served items before we were done. Highly recommend for the food alone

Kind of cramped and very noisy but the food was inventive and delicious, especially the dates.

I had clearly indicated this was a birthday lunch. However, they NEVER brought out a cake or at least acknowledged it. The table next to ours did receive a birthday treat. Why did my guest not?

All four of us agreed it was the best meal we have had in NYC since the pandemic. Exceptional, creative dishes with surprising combinations of flavors. Each dish was a revelation. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and gave excellent decriptions/recommendations. The restaurant itself was quiet and ,though informal, maintained almost an old NYC atmosphere. Some of their staff seems to be from the now lamented Gotham and thus actually know what they are doing. Memorable all around. Unfortunately, it has spoiled us. It sort of brought home that we had become complacent and had consigned ourselves to spending 50 bucks for a plate of salty pasta and a wine mark-up of 600% surrounded by dudes in their sweats--and all in a deafening "buzz." No buzz here. Just a reminder that one used to go out for things they could never manage to make at home, and that is certainly the case here. Brilliant and original.

The food is exceptional and atmosphere fun and upbeat. But it can be very noisy when the restaurant is full of diners.

I made a reservation through open table for my girlfriend’s birthday. We sat by the chef’s counter. Food was delicious. We ordered a good amount of food. By the time we got dessert, there was no candle on the dessert even though I asked for it to be a candle on there through the reservation since they asked if there’s any specific occasion for the reservation. Over all, everything was good

The food was *outstanding*, and the service was friendly, but I had the strangest experience checking in for my reservation. The two hosts told me my reservation didn't exist; when I showed them my email confirmation, they then insisted that my first name was "Maggie". They didn't admit something must have gone wrong in their system...they just kept asking, did you reserve this under Maggie, do you sometimes go by Maggie? No, no I don't! No one else in my party had a name close to Maggie either, and since I made the res via OpenTable, it couldn't have been someone misunderstanding me on a call. Once we were all seated, at least 25 minutes passed before someone took our order. Water kept being poured, which I appreciated since it was 103 degrees outside, and I finally asked that person if we could please have a server. Had they been looking for "Maggie's" table the whole time? The meal itself was incredible, but especially since it was a business lunch where I was hosting two clients I didn't need all that additional awkwardness and distraction. I'm hesitant to return or recommend it.

Had a very different experience at ABC on Friday June 13 than I usually do. Usually, the service is relaxed. Yesterday, we felt rushed with the server coming to our table multiple times within 5 minutes to take desert orders. Our entree was rushed to us but the server didn't remove the appetizer plate. I love ABCV and often recommend it to friends because it really feels like an oasis in the city and I usually enjoy a long and relaxed lunch but not yesterday. Maybe there is a new general manager overseeing service? I ate at ABC Cocina the week before and the service was lovely and relaxed as per the usual. Please don't change ABCV and replicate obnoxious 1980s style service.
