About
An excellent experience overall. Food was delicious, service excellent, ambience beautiful, and it was quiet!
The food was great and the service was the best I have had in years! I have been to many fine dining restaurants and less and less of them have nice service any more. I hope the staff all comes to the new place after the remodel
We said goodbye to our favorite restaurant. Looking forward to the new concept.
So sad you are leaving us!!!
Goodbye, Abacus! We will miss you...
Favorite place to celebrate and have a nice dinner. Food is always exceeding expectations.
This was our second visit within a month. Food was below par the first time. Better the second time.
Lobster rolls were fishy both times.
Venison was tough-not what waiter promised.
Sushi was delish. Caesar salad ok-too much dressing both times.
Guests enjoyed the salmon.
Nice atmosphere.
Water glasses kept full and dishes cleared immediately.
It’s not the Abacus from yesteryear.
Relaxing, calming and delicious. The valet was very pleasent as well.
Had another wonderful meal at Abacus! We were celebrating our daughter being in town, so we made it a family affair. The meal was outstanding. From sushi to soup/salad to entrees and dessert... everything was exceptional. And, if you go on Tuesday, you can score some great wines at 1/2 price! Nick provided excellent service from start to finish. We always enjoy seeing the general manager, Erin. We will be back!
Usual excellent overall experience. Randy our sever and Erin the manager made an excellent wine selection and made the evening one to remember
Excellent service
Best Mother’s Day lunch we have been to BY FAR in the past few years. The food was amazing, did not feel like it was a typical prix fixe lunch. Service was flawless and everyone was just so wonderful and welcoming. Thank you for a great day!!
It used to be a big deal to go to Abacus, in my opinion. I still think it is a great restaurant, but not spectacular. For the price, I think it is not worth it overall. There are many dining options in Dallas. I believe I've been to Abacus about 10 times over the years, and I think this will be my last.
Mother’s Day Lunch, set menu which was all delicious.
Loved it. Amazing food!
I used to go to Abacus back about 10 years ago (all the time). After a while, the service started slipping and, while the food was still wonderful, the prices seemed just too much to pay for sub-par service. I stopped going - crossed it off my list. I decided to try it again and it was a 5-star experience. I did not partake in wine this time as I am on the Keto diet. I don't know how their wine list stacks up against the competition with prices and options. Also, having said that, they were VERY accommodating for my Keto diet. I love that!
Great service and food
We have been to Abacus many Timor’s and it is consistently great. The food is wonderful. The service is also great. Yes, it is a little pricey, but not bad for a restaurant of this caliber.
Let me begin by saying I have been coming to Abacus since it opened many years ago. I have always thought, and still do, highly of Chef Rathbun. Very creative and lots of great tastes. But the last 3 visits over the past several months I have noticed a decline in the food quality overall. The service was superb. It is somewhat loud. The main reason for low rating on food was the venison. It was tough and I could not chew all of it. Had to remove grit from mouth repeatedly. Also the venison was not very flavorful. The black truffle risotto was superb as always. But it was not enough to overcome the poor quality of the main course. Very disappointing. It bothers me because I know abacus can do better. I hope you will improve and stay in business, but this is concerning.
The service was quite attentive. I didn’t find the menu to be very interesting and the food was just okay. Nothing wrong with the food. It simply didn’t make much of an impression. I had eaten there some time ago and remember being significantly more taken by the food.
Excellent dining experience, impressive wine list, great service! Lobster shooters, venison, and swordfish, all highly recommended, but you can't go wrong, really, with anything on the menu. This is our new favorite, will be back soon!
The food was outstanding as was the service. The booth was very nice for 2 people and we'll be back again.
There were so many interesting and appealing choices on the menu for the both starters and mains that we found it hard to choose. What we did choose: quail knots, mussels, pork tenderloin and duck were outstanding.
Service was attentive but not intrusive. When the kitchen got a bit backed up with a large private party they filled the gap with a tasty complimentary salad, which was most welcome.
We enjoyed some cocktails, a well priced good wine and a leisurely meal in the back room part of the restaurant which was a little quieter than the front.
We are looking forward to returning on a Tuesday which is half price bottle of wine night to try something more pricey.
The waiter was a little slow at the start, but everything went well afterwards - Thanks
The food, service band atmosphere was wonderful. This is one of the best restaurants in Dallas
Excellent variety of menue items!
Adam was great. Food over the top delicious. Venison, steak, mussels all perfect.
Abacus had great food and the service was amazing.
Abacus is an excellent restaurant, and the fact that they have been so consistently rated for so long shows that they are a cut above the rest of the morass that is the Dallas dining scene.
We have been coming to Abacus for years and love to celebrate special events there. This trip was a little less than we expected but still good. Service is always good and our waitress was wonderful and attentive. Our reservation was at 7:30 so the restaurant was hopping but we were seated immediately and had a drink in hand in 5 minutes. What we had on our minds to order (the Redfish) was sold out so we opted for the steak and the venison. The steak was well prepared but pared with veggies that were not so tasty. The venison was excellent! We opted for mac and cheese side (nothing special) and brussel sprouts (perfection). Dessert was chocolate cream brulee and something else - can't remember.... but they were good, just not anything special. We will come back but I hope next time it will be as good as I remember from times past. All in all, a great place to eat and have a good, pleasant meal.
Food was amazing, Cliff's service was even better!
The experience really made you rethink food as a consumer. The lobster shooters were really good and so neat to eat/drink! Definitely a great choice for fine dinning!
I first went to Abacus nearly twenty years ago and as usual on Saturday we had an excellent meal and great service.
Risotto was amazing
Fabulous experience! Eclectic menu, wonderful flavors, and delightfully attentive service.
Always a great quality of food, and the service measures up to its reputation. Wine prices are a little high.
Pretty mediocre, nowhere near as good as it used to be
Our first visit....don’t know why it took us so long. Couldn’t have been a more satisfying experience. Exemplary service and food to die for from sushi through four different entrees and desserts as artistic as delicious. Plus a polished bar for after dinner drinks. A neighborhood gem with big city ingenuity.
We had an early dinner to catch a musical. I thought the food was OK? We had the Lobster Rolls--tasty! I had the duck and it was not "gamey" at all. I thought everything was OK not spectacular!
Great experience for ladies night!
