Abacus Ratings and Reviews
Lobster shooters always on point! We had scallops & buffalo filet - cooked to perfection & all flavors on point & well balanced. We usually visit here for special occasions but decided this year to make it a regular monthly standby ..... January check! Here comes February:)
In town for business and this was recommended. Staff was extremely attentive to every detail. We tried the 5 course tasting menu so that the chef could surprise us and he did not disappoint. Extensive wine list and creative cocktails - something for everyone. The entire experience was a total delight.
Excellent experience as usual. The dishes are a work of art an taste just as good as they look. I had the duck breast and it was magnificent. My wife had the Cornish game hen and it had an amazing flavor. One of our favorite places to visit when we are in Dallas.
My experience at Abacus was absolutely phenomenal! The ambiance & atmosphere was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the wait staff was very polite and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place for a romantic date, special occasion such as a birthday/anniversary, or for a classy and exquisite meal. I cannot recommend the red velvet dessert enough!
Our waiter was awkward and confused. His descriptions of the entree’s were not appealing. We could have overlooked that had the food been good. Scallops and pork belly was nothing special as our app. We made ourselves eat it because we were starving and everything on the menu was WAY overpriced for the quality and flavor! The pumpkin ravioli was terrible...and we typically love pumpkin ravioli. The fish had no flavor..the beef had no flavor...the scallops had no flavor! Seriously!...we tried to help these dishes out with salt and pepper but they were still bland! The side of risotto was okay and the side of Brussels sprouts were swimming in soy sauce. We left most of our food on the plates. The best part of the meal was the bread basket. $400 later we were very disappointed!:(
It was our Christmas dinner. The food was excellent as it always is. Unfortunately, our server was either too busy or distracted. It was obvious that the larger table took priority. Drinks, food were late. My wife didn’t get her wine until the middle of the main course.
I'm a fan of Abacus and have been for years.
Under the guidance of Chef Chris Patrick the restaurant continues to maintain a tradition of excellence.
We came to begin our holiday celebrations with a wonderful meal, and did not leave disappointed.
The tasting menu was superb, the appetizers were spot on, the desserts were just the right touch.
I look forward to returning soon.
We went here for my fiancé’s birthday. The food was outstanding, but the waiter was hardly around. We wanted to order a bottle of wine and another cocktail but couldn’t ever get the waiter’s attention. He seemed to realize near the end that he neglected us and gave us a free glass of wine. However it is a shame to go to this nice of a restaurant and feel neglected due to your age. (We are 25 and 23 but probably look a little younger).
As always Abacus brought the best of the best for gourmet fare! We had a fantastic time, great drinks, superb dining and great staff.
We only wish the Chef's sampler menu tonight had less fish dishes. All in all we will always come back and bring friends to enjoy the experience with us
I appreciate the manager admitting that our ticket was lost by the kitchen (after we waited over 40 minutes between our appetizer and dinner courses and had to cancel after dinner plans), but I wasn’t thrilled at the resolution of giving us a free dessert that we didn’t even get to select. When you are paying over $400 for dinner and your order is forgotten, you expect a slightly grander accommodation for the inconvenience.
First time here on a busy Saturday night. The service was much slower than usual and food came out less than warm. My dish was not cooked as I had asked, and they brought it back promptly.
Not their best effort, but will still come back on less busy nights because I like the food.
i used to love this restaurant...it has been one of my favorites for years. the menu has really changed alot and there is much more focus on sushi vs the innovative entrees that i have grown to love over the years (i think i have been going for over 15 years!). the menu style now is seems to be more shock and awe...you will be shocked at what Abacus wants to charge for some things. just my 2cents on one of my former faves
My husband and I chose this restaurant for our anniversary and chose the tasting menu without looking at the menu. We were very pleased with the service and most of all the food. I would recommend to anyone and we will visit again very soon. We chose the wine pairing as well which was a lot of wine so keep that in mind for driving purposes.
