Mediterranean
Aba is a Mediterranean restaurant with a rooftop patio located in Chicago's historic Fulton Market District. This is Chef CJ Jacobson’s second restaurant with Lettuce Entertain You, and is an extension of Ema (mother in Hebrew) in River North. Aba, meaning father in Hebrew, incorporates a light style of cooking with a large emphasis on raw and cooked protein. The bar program is crafted by Lead Mixologist Liz Pearce and showcases rare Mediterranean-inspired wines and spirits. Please note that outdoor seating is first come first serve, is not available for reservations and is weather permitting.

Great atmosphere. Beautiful outdoor patio. Short rib hummas chewy and stringy. Lamb Kefta, whipped feta spread, octopus great. Deserts need to be adjusted. Yogurt and olive oil wasn't good. Creme brûlée pie wasn't special.

We ate here for our final dinner during our family vacation to Chicago and couldn't have asked for a better way to finish off our trip. Food and service were fantastic and we loved being able to taste so many different dishes with the small plates menu. My mother-in-law grew up in a Jewish home and the halva dessert took her right back to her childhood, leading her to share some special family memories with us. Thank you Aba staff for an unforgettable evening.

We had late reservations but came early hoping to be seated early. Fortunately we sat at the bar and met Andy our bartender who led us to having Muhammara and Straccialtella for appetizers. Absolutely wonderful. For 2nd course, we left the bar area to meet Lisa and we had leg of lamb wrapped in eggplant and chicken kefta. Both definitely keepers. Desert was kulfi. Again outstanding. Aba has been rated highly and deserves it. Much thanks to Andy and Lisa for there great service and suggestions. Great restaurant and dining experience.

Had been there once before in a Sat night. Loved it but noisy.
This time Sunday night and are outside.
Everything was spectacular but 2 of us irdrrrd the lamb Chops. They were not hot & I sent back. One was under done and one well done. They came back better but we both agreed that for the money each of us got one larger chip and the second one was 1/2 the nice. Will not order that again. Not great. Everything was delicious. Ordered cappuccinos and they were like warm. Waitress said she just made them but we like hot coffee. Remade and a drop warmer but still not hot. So disappointed. Order them all the time other places and obviously the machine needs to be recalibrated.

Just an excellent experience all around at Aba. This is a beautiful space on the 3rd floor in the heart of the Fulton Market district (west loop). They have a large patio with many tables and couches. Although we didn't sit out there, it seems a great place for drinking and eating in the summer, especially since it's away from the noise and exhaust of the street below. The bar and dining space is airy and modern, with a lot of greenery and high ceilings that give it an indoor/outdoor feel. The food is great. It's mainly intended as small plates/sharing, but there are entrees as well. The food is interesting and flavorful. Great modern take on Mediterranean fare. Similarly, the drinks are interesting, tasty, and infuse Mediterranean themes as well. I went with two friends, and the three of us ate and had a bottle of wine for $50/person (before tip). We've been to many places downtown and in the West Loop, and thought this was an excellent value for the great food and space. Strong recommendation for Aba and definitely going to return.

Got no apologies, accommodations or anything for the poor service.

The atmosphere is really good, except I noticed 3 tables for two within the restaurant are a bit cramped and the others are placed in odd areas outside of the realm of the other patrons. Outside of that, the tables weren't placed too close together and the shared booth area was the same.

The outdoor high-tops, which those with reservations have first dibs on, are in an awkward location, where it is dark and servers and other staff are constantly squeezing by the tables to access the indoor kitchen. Many of the customers are very young and dressed more for the beach than a restaurant that is moderately expensive. Perhaps they just come to drink. The two kebabs we ordered were lukewarm, but tasty. I wish their fish options were more interesting. The shrimp were very small--served in an escargot dish, which was cute.

We celebrated our one year anniversary, and we absolutely loved it!! The ambience was great! We sat outside and it was very beautiful. While walking inside it is just as beautiful, if not more! The shrimp scampi was so yummy! And the creme brûlée was delicious!! Yes, portion sizes are not huge, but that’s to be expected the more expensive the menu at a restaurant from my experience. I recommend to get there before 5 or the wait starts at the elevator downstairs!

Aba is my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago. The food and ambiance are a ten! If you go you must get the shrimp. The shrimp is so good I will dream about it for the next few nights. Only downfall of this restaurant is that it’s pretty hard to get a reservation, so make sure you make one far far in advance.

AMAZING.!!! ❤️the food outstanding and sooo flavorful! I was impress by the service as well. The waiter was fun, attentive and aware. One of our many delicious choices did not come in time? (that is what our waiter thought) and they did not charge for that item. The host came and apologize, even though it was 2 minutes late! By far best service ever. Did I mention that I am

Beautiful rooftop with an Amazing dining area!! I would have given this a Five Star review except for the fact the hostess that seated us DIDN’T CARE At ALL that the Tables were SO crammed together and made it Very difficult to relax and Enjoy the atmosphere as well as our Cocktails!! We had to wait Until the table next to us left and I MOVED it myself!!!! After that, it Started to be more of an enjoyable Experience!!! Service was OK . . . . Food made Up for it!!! I felt the Staff is too judge!!!!!
I would like to Visit again but not too Sure if Upper management cares that Equal Service is given????

The food was very good, nothing spectacular or a stand-out. We would have enjoyed our experience more if a little more thought had been put into the music playing. I don't understand why, when so much thought is put into everything else in a restaurant, why someone would choose trashy dance Vegas generic music. Suggestion: Play music that reflects the country of the cuisine being served.
