Great place!! The food was really good and the restauran it’s just beautiful !! Perfect for a date or just have fun with friends
Absolutely delicious. I can't believe I haven't eaten here before.
Beautiful setting on the patio. Service was attentive and informative.
Poor service turned our birthday celebration at Aba into a drag. We've been to Aba several times before, and always enjoyed the experience; we also go often to other Lettuce Entertain You restaurants, both with our family and on business (my husband and I both host out of town visitors frequently for work). But today, even though the host at the front desk knew that we were celebrating a birthday, the service was so bad that dinner felt like a chore. The server didn't notice that half of our order didn't come; when we finally told him, only half of the remaining order came out within he following 15 minutes; when we told him we were still missing a plate, he said "oh, maybe they ran out" -- and that was it, never so much as an apology. We had to flag him down to order more food and ask for things that were supposed to come but hadn't, and when the bill came he had charged us for something we did't order. At that point we were just so sick of the interaction that we paid without making a fuss just to get out of there.
I wonder if part of the issue was that we made the reservation under a different name than usual, so the restaurant didn't know that we were frequent customers. If that's the case, I'm not sure what to think: do they only treat people well if they know who they are? Ick either way.
It was really pretty, and the food was tasty, but it was really worth writing home about. I found it strange that we received so little bread. Literally, one small pita to split for a plate of hummus for 3 people.
Arnold was our server and he was absolutely amazing. He gave us good recommendations and timed everything perfect. He was a pleasure!!
Excellent on all levels.
This is my second time at this restaurant and I came back because I loved the food but wanted a chance to sit outside...and it was worth it. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, but the exterior is perfect! We again loved everything we ordered, but wish portions were a little larger (even for small plates). Faves were spicy hummus, avocado and hummus dip, skirt steak, crispy potatoes, chicken kefta. I’d go back again!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Wonderful to sit outside on a nice day.
The hostesses was very rude. Made us wait a long time for our table, which we asked to be seated outside. Finally we got a manager involved he very nice & got us seated outside. But the hostess was terrible not friendly or helpful & was rude to us.
Service was very slow
The food here was excellent. Service was top-notch as well. This is why Chicago is such a great food city.
The ambiance was great as the outside bar along with the indoor tables were comfortable. The portions are smaller so you can try different things. The hummus and the pork belly were my favorites.
Amazing service! Beyond happy with our experience
Great service, beautiful atmosphere and good food.
Great food and attentive service. Sommelier made some great choices for us. Will be bringing groups back for sure.
Will not go back. We arrived 10 min early for a 7:15 reservation, and the hostess told us we could be seated right away at a high top or wait for a regular table. We asked to wait since we were early. 30 minutes later, and we were brought to a high top table. When we asked for a regular table, we were told it would be a longer wait.
Our waiter was not great. Took 25 minutes just to get wine glasses and over 30 minutes for a nice bottle of wine we ordered. Did not acknowledge my birthday and seemed to want to get us in and out. As a Lettuce Entertain You gold member, I am thoroughly disappointed in the service and will not be back.
It was great. The food was great and I can't wait to go back
The setting is gorgeous. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Most importantly, the food is great. The small plate concept is great. Our table of 4 enjoyed sharing all of the dishes. The Naan bread that goes along with the schmears is always fresh and tasty. The cocktails were great -inventive and flavorful with the right amount of spirits. Aba is one of our favorite places to go when we are in Chicago.
The food was very good, not something that you'll stay up at night thinking about, but still very good. We enjoyed all the plates we had but particularly liked the halloumi, house-made stracciatella and eggplant-wrapped lamb. The service definitely left a lot to be desired, our waiter looked visibly annoyed to be serving us and complained about the length of his shift in addition to being inattentive overall. The support wait staff were very good, so maybe he was just having a bad day. The ambiance is incredible, it's a gorgeous restaurant and has a great atmosphere.
The space is beautiful. You feel like you're dining in a forest. But a trendy, upscale one! The hummus and dips were amazing, as was most of what we tried. We did not sit on the rooftop as it was a bit chillier, but what a lovely respite. They nail the Lettuce Entertain You concept, service, and quality!
Birthday celebration. Our server was wonderful, very helpful.
Food was great!
Great food, great ambience, decent prices, nice location. Will definitely return here!
I am a huge fan of Aba, but had only been there for dinner. Until now. Brunch did not disappoint! The short rib shakshuka was a particular favorite, but truly everything was excellent!
Fantastic atmosphere, service, and food. One of the best rooftops in Chicago and a wonderful way to spend a beautiful afternoon eating delicious food on a rooftop.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago right now! Excellent ambiance paired with amazing food, service, and music! Love.
Amazing food and the place is just ... very cool. We sat outside, very relaxed atmosphere. Tables/couches are nicely spaced - I like not feeling as if you are sitting with the people next to you. The Whipped Feta was my favorite dish, I could have made a meal of just that. Great drinks and wine list. Highly recommend
The entrance to Aba is quaint and unassuming. But once you exit the elevator you're greeted by a beautiful, award-winning interior. My girlfriend and I were seated immediately so we were right away able to tour the gorgeous interior. We ordered the Mermaid G the crumbs added little flavor and I could not taste the black garlic. After came the Crispy Pork Belly which was very good. It comes served with peach slices which is an odd partner but does work. I would order the pork belly again. Next was the Chicken Kefta Kebabs which is served with very good basmati rice. The kebabs themselves were good but forgettable; I've had better kebabs at cheaper restaurants. We ended the night with two desserts: the Creme Brulee Pie and Kulfi Ice Cream. The pie was great, all creme brulees should be made with a pie crust. My only critique would be the top sugar crust should be harder to achieve the classic creme brulee "crack". The kulfi ice cream was also good though I am not a big fan of coffee ice cream so I probably will not order again but if you are a fan I think you will be very satisfied. Overall the experience was great and made for a memorable date night. We will definitely be back. If you're able to, get outdoor seating.
The service we received this time really hurt our experience. We had to constantly remind our server to submit orders. She came around once in a while. Last time we came here, our server was phenomenal and we were hoping for that exact same experience. Unfortunately we were let down. The portions were also drastically smaller this time around too.
Loved everything about this place!
Absolutely delicious. Tremendous service and we felt a great value! Beautiful space too
Just great food, attentive service which despite being an ever popular locale is not snooty. The dips with that warm pita would be outstanding on their own, the rest is a bonus including great cocktails. I would love to see some more vegetarian mains make their way onto the menu.
It was wonderful. We sat outside. Beautiful evening. Excellent food and tremendous service. Our waiter did everything including help me recharge my cell phone
I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The decor is beautiful. Our waiter was very attentive at first but I rated it lower because our food took a longggg time. The wait time between each dish was very long. The waiter raves about the short rib hummus but the meat was a little hard to chew. The chicken kabob meat was tough and not too great. I did enjoy the whipped feta and the bread.
Great food, fantastic service. Loved everything.
Service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful, we were on the rooftop deck. The food was interesting and flavorful, great choices.
great service and food. a bit confusing to find. but once there i really enjoyed it and planning to return
