I've been wanting to go to this place for three years now since I've been living in Jasper. I made a reservation for a special occasion, but nothing special happened. The appetizer was just ok but tiny almost molecular size. the main courses were overcooked and flavourless , and the waiter was clueless. I must say the cocktails were delicious and the host had an incredible energy. For such a special occasion, there was nothing in the restaurant that made us feel like we were celebrating something in a special place. The only good thing about this restaurant is its stunning views.

The food, service, ambiance, and views of Pyramid Lake and Rockies are all excellent. All together, my wife and I had 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners at the Aalto, including a celebratory anniversary dinner - and we enjoyed every meal.

Food was fantastic. Had the duck, well seasoned. Service a bit slow, forgot one of our drinks and another waitress cleared our plates.

Food was expertly prepared and served; Alberta AA beef was a little on the tough side even though I ordered medium rare. Wine selection was limited and had asked prior to if we could bring our own but no corking fee option available.; maybe worth considering? Crème caramel dessert was excellent!

Cold steak, small portions Children’s menu is way too complicated for little kids palates which put a damper on the whole meal. Even the kids dessert was a turn off as it was tarte sorbet pasta dish was ok. Ordered it with extra scallops and they were tiny

Despite having a reservation for weeks and the room less than half full we were first offered a 4 seat in the middle of the room. We asked to be seated at a 2 seat table by a window and were eventually accommodated as we explained we were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday; thank you. Food was presented well and had good flavour. Cheese plate was OK, though looked sparse and was skimpy on the crackers, strong tasting cheeses need some accompaniment. Meat dishes (steak and bison) were perhaps over salted and came to the table cut and cool. The dessert (pavlova) was interesting and was fun to share. We had breakfast here the next morning and were similarly seated at the only table with a view of a wall despite the room being almost empty. Playlist was a little heavy for 9am.. my wife had to get a tissue from the bathroom. The breakfast was good. Compote that was served for toast was a common thread from the previous days cheese plate and pavlova. Some variety would have been appreciated. Prices were OK considering the location and quality of ingredients. Good to experience once. Unsure if we will return.

We had a beautiful experience at Alto, we had eloped at Pyramid Lake and reserved a table for after the ceremony. The staff were very kind and professional. Food was absolutely delicious. The view from this restaurant was absolutely stunning. I do not have one negative thing to say about this experience. I will certainly go back to this restaurant when I go back to Jasper
