A1A Ale Works
We really enjoyed the crab/artichoke dip and beer cheese soup. The Fisherman's Platter was okay. We also really enjoyed the grilled banana split Sunday. We would return, but I would try a different entree.
Great Atmosphere and the food was great!!! It was our first time to go since we just moved to Saint Augustine on that day and we will definitely be going again as regulars!!
great food and beer, service a little slow. ambience great, parking-impossible
The service and food were great. We will definitely go back again.
Second time there great service and food
We had our daughters rehearsal dinner at A1A Aleworks. The food was so good and the service was excellent! We will be back for sure ! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and the view was great !!
Loved Food was delicious and view from the balcony was beautiful!!!
Delicious food and great service.
My waiter was awesome, he was on point with drinks and when my salad was wrong he noticed right away and corrected before I had to say anything
Our waitress was amazing and we didn’t even have to wait long! We will be back for sure!!
P.S Best beer-cheese soup around.......better than my moms (shhhh don’t tell her ;))
I had the fried shrimp. More like boiled shrimp, not quite done enough then battered and flash fried. Looked great but no flavor and wrong texture.
Very crowded and noisy, but the food was good, and it was worth the wait.
Sat outside overlooking the water, beautiful!
Our waitress, Tatianna was outstanding! She let us sample a beer we wanted to try. She was very helpful with helping us decide what to order, beer cheese soup is a must! I had steak medallions, so good. Cherry bread pudding for dessert. We all left stuffed with to go boxes, will definitely go again!
Food was great. Service was good considering how busy it was. Definitely worth coming back.
They ran out of multiple menu items (to include both items my wife and I wanted to order) and they were also out of milk for kids.
When we arrived the table was ready for us. We had a table outside in the balcony with the view of the plaza and the water so we were able to see the NYE’s fireworks. Food was good, the service too!!
I understand that it’s a busy date but that’s why we make the reservation. We wait by 30 minutes, please don’t order the Paella it was the worst flavor they just put rice and sazonador. I was not able to get, and everywhere was plenty of people so I was able to eat when I get home. No friendly for Kids
Downtown was packed due to Nights of Lights. I had a “reservation “ (call ahead) here. The restaurant was busy but we didn’t have to wait so that was great. We Didn’t get to sit along King street where I have wanted to sit the last three times we were here but... The food here is very good. The service is hit or miss. Last time service was great, this time service was inattentive and server didn’t smile until she gave us our check. It was an ok experience.
Everything was excellent -food, service, attentiveness, drinks, and view. The only draw-back from getting 5 stars is the noise level. I will add that this was a Saturday night on a holiday weekend, so this may not be the norm. However, it was very difficult for my party of three to hold a conversation over the very high noise level. That being said, I would not call this a good place for either a business dinner, or a romantic date.
Fried food was greasy & over-cooked. Beer was good.
Food was delicious, service great. However, during this holiday season no happy hour available and just dinner menu all day.
This is the second time we have met friends there as St. Augustine is equal distance for us to travel. The food is always fresh and delivered quickly. Service is great and the view from outside dining is amazing. Our friends thanked us for introducing them to this restaurant, and said they will eat there whenever they are in St. Augustine. You will not be disappointed with A1A Aleworks.
Food is good, view of town square and Matanzas river is very nice. We’re regulars and our only complaint is they keep taking our favorites (Blue Cheese chips, seared tuna appetizer, Angel hair salsa crude) off the menu.
Enjoyable family holiday dinner. Call ahead seating was a great idea. Definitely shortened the wait. Food was very good and service was fine. Would recommend to a friend, we plan on a return visit.
It was great service and the food was great! The key lime linguini is a must to try!
The location of A1A Ale Works was perfect for Night of Lights dining. The service was very good, considering how crowded they were. We were however disappointed with the serving sizes. I would describe the food as average. Also, we sent our fries back because they were not "well done, crispy" as we had ordered. They came back to our table just as pale as the first batch. We won't be rushing back.
We made a reservation for 7:00 but showed up early and they were able to seat us right away. Allison was our server that night... She knew all the specials, offered us happy hour drinks and even had a recommendation for my son. Appetizers came out timely and were very good. I ordered the Fisherman platter and it was delicious.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Whatever you have as an entree be sure to have the beer cheese soup.... fantastic.
Wonderful place to have dinner and look at the scenery 👍
This was my second time here. Food is quite good. Had crab dip appetizer and minorcan soup. Beer selection was great. Staff knowledgeable of variety. Seafood is fresh and presented nicely. Loved the shrimp and grits. Was in town to celebrate holiday Festival of Lights and had a wonderful view of lights from the balcony . Service was attentive without being overbearing . Will return.
Happy hour prices were very good and service was also good. The Fisherman’s Platter stayed “crispy fish”. It was far from crispy. Breading was mushy. I should add the calamari and shrimp were crispier. Fries were barely warm. Ordered the bread pudding for dessert. Again, advertised in menu as “warm” but came out room temperature at best. The wife had a side of fried vegetables but was all zucchini pretty much. Not many other vegetables. Overall just a fair meal.
We were attending an event in St. Augustine and wanted to eat near the location. This was perfect! The food was good. 3 out of 4 of us loved our creative dishes. Great view of the lights and the water.
We went upstairs and had a reservation. We were seated quick but it went downhill from there. The place was busy and noisy and wait staff seemed confused about who has each table. Waited 45 minutes before we got appetizers. Food was ok. We got the beer soup , which was spicy and I sent back. Ordered the seafood sampler which wasn’t worth the price we paid . Our sangrias were good , but that was the highlight. We were a party of four, and we won’t be back again. Too many restaurants in the area to have these kinds of problems.
Very good, Happy Hour food and drinks were discounted. Loved the Crab app dip. Delicious. Nice view of water on Balcony :)
We enjoyed our lunch. Our waiter was very attentive. This was for a family get-together. The kids menu was great and they were given crayons to play with as well so everyone was happy.
Loved the Risotto tots !
The view of the harbor was outstanding !!
We made reservations on open table for 5:45pm for a party of 6. We arrived at 5:35, we were not sited until 6:10pm. My new understanding is when you are making reservations on open table, they are not a true reservation, you are moved up the waiting list, we had reservations on the golf cart to see the lights at 7:00pm.
I had to call and change that reservation to 7:30pm, because we didn’t have a true reservation.
Drink specials were good.
Food was just ok, we didn’t have time to send anything back and we barely saw our waitress to request that.
This was on a Monday night. We eat at this restaurant several times a month.
If I wanted move to the top of the waitlist, I would have used that app.
We will still go to the restaurant, we will still use open table, but it should be a true reservation.
it was a little confusing to find the upstair restaurant, didn't know it was all up there. but we managed and the view was great.
Daughter’s 16th birthday
The A1A no longer makes its own beer, as it did on my first visit. However the food and drinks my party of 4 had were good and the service was quite good for such a centrally located and busy restaurant. This restaurant is right in the middle of St Augustine, a great but busy location. Nice views from the balcony.
