   It started off beautifully when we were seated at a lovely corner table and brought still water immediately. Unfortunately the Sardinian white wine that we ordered was sold out and not taken off the menu and it took another 10 mins after already waiting 15 mins to get the replacement wine. We also had to wait over half an hour for our sparkling water that was ordered when we ordered the first bottle of wine. The three antipasti were brought to the table - fave purée with dandelion greens was so salty we couldn’t eat it. The burrata plate was no frills with stale croutonesque crostini. At that price point, it should be more elevated. The salad was good! Little gems with fennel and watermelon radish. We then ordered the shrimp pasta which came in one piece. It was so gloppy and gluey. Who’s in the kitchen making sure the food going out is tasting good? Overall, a very disappointing experience.

   Hands down -- one of the best restaurants in San Francisco and the Bay Area! We love A16 and appreciate so many things about it. Took family visiting from Chicago and Denver -- such a class act, delicious food, perfect wine pairings, excellent and attentive service from knowledgeable staff, comfortable atmosphere, joyful vibes, just a wonderful experience!!

   Party of four - birthday celebration. WONDERFUL! The food was incredible. I'm still thinking about the sausage pizza - clearly house made, perhaps the best I've had outside of Italy. Everything was incredible. My family raved about the tripe (not my thing) and even the desserts were special. I've had meals in San Francisco that were 3x the price and only 1/10th as good. A16 is a bargain! And frankly, it's made it's way onto my "destination" restaurants along with Zuni and Kokkari.

   Always delicious , feels like home, abundant portions and fabulously friendly and lovely staff. Shout out to Sunny our server and Federica at the reception desk. A 16 has one of the best and long term in place teams in the city. Which always makes it feel like home when dining there. It’s a pinnacle of dining pleasure in SF

   We had a reservation for outdoor seating on Mother’s Day, but instead of being seated under their usual covered outdoor area, we were placed right next to the open front door—my chair literally half on the sidewalk, with people waiting in line beside me. It felt like an afterthought. The host ignored my concerns completely, showing no care or attempt to make it right. Our waitress, however, was polite, attentive, and apologetic throughout, which I appreciated. We didn’t stay long—just long enough for the kids to enjoy their pizza, which they loved (it did look great, though I didn’t try it). As we left, I noticed they removed our table setup altogether, which made me suspect we were bumped from a more proper seating area, though I can’t say for sure. It was disappointing, especially since I’ve had much better experiences here in the past. Fortunately, we salvaged the day with a lovely walk over to LOJ.

   The pizza it is always one of the best in San Francisco but this time both pizzas ( 2) were burned . Most probably the oven was too hot....hopefully next time we will go back to a great pizza as it always was.

    HANDS DOWN -- THE BEST! Wonderful meal at A16 -- from the burrata to the charcuterie plate to the fava bean salad (special favas on the menu!) to the orrechiette to the lamb to the pizza to the best chocolate budino torte. All incredible. Fabulous wine pairings by Shelley and team, got to meet the winemakers who were in the restaurant that evening. So cool!
