   Waitress only visited a few times. Food took over 1/2 hour after she said it would be 2 minutes. Crowded no space between tables. Valet parking was a mess. Only one guy. I think overbooked problem. Place is too small. Cesar salad was good. Calamari was hard and tough. Pasta dish came out more on cold side and hard noodles on top. ⭐️⭐️ Will not return. First time patrons.

   The venue itself is a great spot that offers a nice indoor and outdoor bar and dining area. The old church atmosphere is pretty and historic. However, the food is subpar and pretty much all glasses, utensils and plates were dirty. I hate to say but I had lipstick on multiple glasses that had to be sent back. Our server was very sweet yet she seemed overwhelmed, either due to the increased Mother’s Day traffic or being under staffed. The restaurant did offer a nice cart of complimentary flowers for Mother’s Day which was nice. But all in all, it wasn’t worth the $400+ meal we had.

   The clams over linguine were absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was just as impressive: friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience top notch. Highly recommend!

   We tried the family style dinner and we have to say the food kept coming out. We had a ton of food to take home. It was delicious fresh and the price was very affordable. It’s a must try!

   I was server was super friendly. The food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back. The outside patio was a beautiful place to sit down relax and enjoy good meal. .

   We love this place and everything about it. Beautiful patio and happy hour special with awesome staff and the food is lovely. Hidden gem in Matawan!

   We had the octopus and calamari apps and skirt steak with chicken parm and everything was made perfectly. Sauce is good and atmosphere is beautiful. Going to be a regular

   Our experience at A Salute was just okay. There was four of us and we ordered the family style dinner $60 per person. The appetizer’s were okay with the exception of the baked clams which had bacon in the stuffing and the cold antipasto which had slice cold cut privilone cheese instead of pieces of the block cheese otherwise it was fine. The pasta course of penne and vodka was delicious but it was a choice of two pasta’s and we weren’t asked our preference. The skirt steak and chicken were another story. While the skirt steak was delicious it had potatoes throughout which I considered a filler for making it seem there was more skirt steak than there actually was. I didn’t try the chicken but the rest of our party weren’t fans of it. According to what was pictured in the online desert menu was a small variety of different desserts, we only had cannoli. Also coffee and tea was included we had to ask for it, I got an express and my husband a cappuccino which wasn’t drinkable. They only had one waiter for the entire restaurant who was extremely nice and courteous but stretched too thin. They has Frank Sinatra music playing the entire time which was nice but was bothersome to me by the end of the night. One last thing if you don’t pay cash they automatically add $10 to the bill. If comparing it to other family style restaurants in the area it just doesn’t compare, they give much more food that you can’t possibly eat all of it and have plenty of leftovers which is not the case here. I will not be going back.

    First time here and won’t be our last. Pizza was great Detroit style and skirt steak was delicious. This outside patio is a must see as well
