Great food. Makeshift outdoor seating was good.
This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant! Great food and ambiance, and the service is outstanding.
Food was excellent authentic Italian. Fresh made pasta. Tomato sauce was delicious!! Bread was perfectly crispy and tasty!! Fettuccine with salmon was yummy and very hot ( temp). My husband had the Spinach Manicotti that tasted sooo good!! Coffee Gelato was the perfect finishing touch to this great dinner!! Service was slow at first but once served was very good!
Was pleased with the restaurant. Food and service were very good. Pleased with how they are following COVID protocols. I felt safe. A good amount of outdoor seating, but I chose to sit indoors.
The wait staff was exceptional and made us feel like the only patrons dining! I will return soon!
Nicely done with the requirements for the COV19. Would go back again
Lasagne was excellent, chicken parm delicious. Huge serving of chicken parm. Wilson makes great vodka martinis!
As my wife & I have always done, we celebrated a special event at A La Lucia this past Saturday night (09/12). Many thanks to Michael Nayeri and to the entire Staff for the great experience! A special thanks to Wendy, Debbie and everyone who worked so hard to make us and all the customers feel comfortable and welcome! After a near 9 month absence in visiting, A La Lucia's simple Trattoria menu was the best! Practicing good social distancing, it was a wonderful evening! Thanks everyone! Your Friends, Scott & Nancy
Delicious! I haven't been here in years and it's now going to be a part of our regular rotation. We ordered chicken marsala, salmon pasta, and pasta of the day (spinach / cream ravioli). We all loved our meals. And the bread??? Worth the splurge on carbs and calories.
The staff was accommodating, moving us from our outside table to inside when a sudden summer shower passed through. They were also very attentive and anticipated our needs. Definitely a find in Old Towne
Great food and excellent service
We had a 730 reservation and they were already sold out of everything my husband wanted. Sitting outside was wonderful and the food we did get was great.
Great restaurant with tasty food and great service. I'm so glad my boyfriend and I decided to stop in for dinner. We will definitely be back.
Everything from the greeting to dessert was absolutely fantastic. The DC Restaurant Week experience was great and I would highly encourage everyone to check A La Lucia out.
Great service and food!
First time sitting outdoors. Very nice. Great meal & nice to chat w/owner!
We recently visited this exceptionally delectable gem for restaurant week and were blessed with phenomenal service, simple but flavorful cuisine and just a great experience. We devoured the Salmon with tomato sauce, basil with pine nuts as well as the eggplant Parmesan which was portioned perfectly and seasoned just right. Along with a very nice Chianti and unfortunately ending this beautiful journey way too soon with the chocolate cake and tiramisu. Is definitely on my speed dial. Thank you very much for enabling us to escape this craziness albeit for such a short time.
Fresh Italian, felt like I was in a grandmothers kitchen being served fresh food! Highly recommend!
Always a great meal and great service. Easy on street parking.
We love a la Lucia; it is our neighborhood place. In fact, it is quite common for us to see neighbors and friends there!
The food is consistently good quality; the tradeoff is that the menu does not evolve quickly, so if you are looking for "au Courant" dining, you will not be happy. On balance, there is much to be said about knowing what you are getting, and enjoying that. To be clear, it is far from dull, just reliable.
We dine there many times a year and enjoy every visit!
Anniversary dinner and it was meet nice. We were outside which was nice.
Next time we may try indoors. Food and service good. Thankyou
Over priced food. Spaghetti and small meatballs for 19$- what a rip off. Sauce was as if someone opened a can of tomato sauce , added water, and poured it on the noodles. Tasteless. Chicken Marsala came with nothing but the chicken and sauce. No vegetables. For the price hardly worth it. Would not go back, and would not recommend to anyone.
Dining was a pleasure. Everyone wore masks and were very pleasant. Food was scrumptious.
I really don't want to write a review, stars are enough work
We had another outstanding meal. This restaurant is a neighborhood jewel. I think if you try it, you will like it.
Their prices are going up and their portions going down a bit, but the food was delicious and service always lovely. If it’s what they need to stay in business so be it.
Like the first time we visited, the food was wonderful, the wine was perfect, the atmosphere was friendly (and the hostess remembered us!).
Our server was also very helpful with the food and wine menu.
I think this restaurant will become a regular one for us.
Found us a table 20 minutes after reservation, no apology. Food wasn’t good and service was awful. This used to be one of my go to places which I took friends and family and carried out food. We will never come back and spread the news that people should not expect good news and service, telling them them to never go there .
The flavors of each dish was amazingly fresh and delightful. It truly was one of the finest Italian means I have had. We lived the cozy atmosphere and simple decor. The wait staff paid attention to every detail of our needs.
Always great service, food and staff!
The food was good but not exceptional, nevertheless, we had a good time
Always a great experience at A La Lucia thanks to Michael, Wendy and the great Staff! Great service, food and a great evening! Thanks everyone & see you again soon! Sincerely, Scott & Nancy
This is our go to place for dinner. Great food and service. Guests are warmly welcomed back. It’s a place where you feel like family.
Extremely disappointing customer service and unethical behavior. The owner is very rude and if you read the yelp reviews this is a consistent theme since his ownership of this restaurant. The food is fair but not authentic.
After being rudely treated twice during our dinner i informed him when we left that I had been there twice and because of him we would never return. He tried to wrap his arm around my shoulder and told me to never come back. I told him to never touch me or anyone again. After over 600 open table reservations this was like no other experience. This man should not be in the customer service business. According to other reviews, There is also High turnover by the staff due to his intolerable behavior.
I told him I would be writing a review. So when I returned home in order to block my review he cancelled our reservation. After proving to open table that we did honor our reservation and having a $400 dinner receipt they reversed his false action.
I don’t know what more to say other than what we hoped would be a nice family meal on Valentine’s Day with guest from overseas turned into a very unpleasant experience
Other reviews say children our not welcome. This is also true but only by the owner. The staff and regular customers were very endearing.
It a shame because the staff are working hard and deserve a respectful working environment
I hope things change for the better.
Always love A La Lucia! Is one of our favorites! Food is excellent and the wait staff is very attentive.
Great food, fantastic staff, friendly owner - we made dinner part of our weekly routine.
We had not been here for close to a year. As in the past the food is excellent and the prices reasonable for Old Town. It also has a nice casual ambiance. Parking within a block is easy
What needs to be improved is the staffing. Starting with the owner, you almost feel as if he is doing you a favor to seat you (he could be more welcoming, and my neighbors have made the same comment). At the table you are approached by several waiters/staff, but never quite sure who is to take your order
The food and service are always wonderful. Truly a neighborhood gem.
Valentines Day Dinner. Food and service was fantastic. Will return soon
Our neighborhood go-to is always a great value with a friendly staff & food options for all! Michael’s (owner) is most always there & always checks in, chats, etc. We’ve been dining here for 15 years!
