About this restaurant

  • Great for scenic views
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Innovative
A La Bonne Franquette, in Seattle, crafts new American cuisine with French influence in its warm and welcoming restaurant. The pork and rabbit terrine with pistachios, herbs, pickles and baguette and the cheese plate make delectable appetizer options. Some of A La Bonne Franquette's specialty entrée dishes include the pan roasted almond trout in a brown butter and shallot sauce, the roasted half chicken with root vegetables and pan jus, the saffron steamed manila clams in cream sauce and the chickpea tagine with carrots, squash and cauliflower over a bed of couscous, all of which are prepared to perfection. Save room for dessert, as A La Bonne Franquette's chocolate orange bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and the decadent chocolate pot de crème are both superb and sinful. If the weather allows, be sure to take a seat on the lovely, flower-drenched outdoor patio.

We found A la bonne franquette on Open Table. The other reviews were glowing and it sounded much like several of our favorite restaurants where we live. Food is great, service is great. The sunset over Seattle was an added treat. Everyone there has a passion for what they do and that translates into a great dinner.

Always a pick for a special occasion, A la bonne franquette never fails us for the perfect setting, cuisine and attention. Some might consider the menu slightly limited, but for the number of tables and the clientele, there is ample variety and everyone item is worth praise. We'll be back again, and likely again.

I was looking for a restaurant with a view to celebrate my daughter's 35th and her graduation from U of W. earning her PhD. I found this lovely, quaint, and very delicious location. Would definitely recommend , and will very likely be back in spite of you not being in West Seattle! Great staff and wonderful chef! Thank you!

My husband and I enjoyed this charming French Restaurant with a lovely view from our window table for two. Fresh zinnias greeted us at our table and the service was attentive and pleasant. The glass of sparkling wine was not as bubbly as anticipated but the food was delicious and memorable ( green salad with a Dijon vinaigrette, pate de fois gras; lamb and white beans and an almond torte). We would recommend this restaurant and would enjoy coming back to try other items on the menu.

Hamed cooked up another memorable meal for us and Shannon picked out a smooth Bordeaux for us to accompany the delicious food. Definitely a neighborhood gem with a local feel but you'll eat gourmet food while enjoying the best view of Seattle and the Puget Sound. I had the Chickpea tagine which was very savory and filling. For dessert I had the bread pudding - I love the combination of orange and chocolate and this choice did not disappoint, satisfying that craving of mine. Took some friends here with us that had not been here before. They are still talking about the great meal they had here. Thanks for a memorable evening!

Recommended by several friends, this cozy restaurant gets the French bistro experience right. The flavors and presentation were very reminiscent of dining in Paris. The food was spectacular! I had the trout and it was flavorful, moist, and perfectly cooked. My wife have had a flat iron steak with mashed potatoes - had it come with fries, it would have been a perfect expression of the classic Steak Frites. The steak was perfectly cooked with a red wine reduction and sauteed mushrooms - so much flavor! For desert, the special of the day was a lemon tart with berries - this is the best lemon tart I've had in the US with the perfect mix of sweet and acid and a perfectly cooked crust. We dined at about 7:30 with a reservation and were seated by the window. With a perfectly sunny day, the view of Puget Sound, downtown Seattle, and the Olympic mountains was gorgeous! It was a perfect place to watch the sun set and very romantic. Finally, the service was phenomenal! Fast, efficient, friendly, and they made our special date night an experience to remember - thank you ABF! We can't wait to come back!
