First time visit and we loved it ! Everything we ordered was tasty !! We will definitely come back
All 3 entrees were absolutely delicious. Our creme brûlée was perfect. The executive chef is very nice and comes to the tables to greet his guests. We will be back!
Food was AMAZING! And the service was just as amazing. I will be a repeat customer for sure.
We like to go to A Food Affair for special occasions or just when we want a delicious tasting French inspired meal. The food is perfectly proportioned and artfully presented... and tastes great. On our most recent visit we were celebrating our daughter's 31st birthday and they presented her with a special birthday dessert. The staff is friendly and the chef came to our table to chat with us.
Great food and we felt very comfortable
They made us warm in the cold night. They were kind and clean. It has character where others lack. The food was outstanding.
Been here a bunch of times, the food is always great, the wine is delicious, the service is good. The chef even comes out to greet you at the table and say hello. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Phenomenal. Loved meeting the owners and loved their daughter who was our server. A true family restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.
Wonderful as always.
The husband and wife owners are amazing and he’s the chef! Honestly best dinner I’ve had in a long time! Ribeye, arugula salad, with French onion soup ❤️
I have been going to this restaurant for 7 yrs every time i visit la lovely French couple owns it and wonderful cooks great menu would highly recommend it.
Amazing food! Chef came out to see us and thanked us for coming to his restaurant! We thanked him for a wonderful 31st wedding anniversary dinner.
Great ambiance, looks fabulous with an european touch. Delicious food, friendly owners, amazing service. I’m happy I’ve discovered this beautiful place! I will definitely return
We went here b/c we couldn't get a reservation at Margot, Roberta's or South Beverly Grill and Food Affair had every time slot open - now I can probably guess why.
The folks at Food Affair are friendly enough and welcoming. They're big on checking in on you - waiters, owners/managers making frequent visits to your table.
The atmosphere is decent, but it's not my favorite setting. I don't know how to describe it. It's warm while also being a bit cold... perhaps its the stone floors and the uncomfortable furniture? Can't place my finger on it, but I love the feeling of coziness / good lighting / fun vibes @ places, but for whatever reason, I feel a bit uncomfy there.
But my MAIN takeaway is that the prices for this place do not match the quality or quantity of the food. And trust me, I rarely gripe about food prices as I'm more about the experience overall. But $4.50 for a 'bread basket' (which usually comes standard) was literally a sandwich roll cut into 4 pieces... Almost $15 for truffle fries - a paltry serving and they literally tasted so basic. I'd MUCH rather eat the $6 Father's Office fries - and FO gives you 2X as much. Anyway, there was also the $14 dessert that was literally a choco chip cookie placed on top of ice cream.
Needless to say, I was really disappointed especially after having dragged my 2 coworkers there who had never been.
The prices are actually MUCH more fair at places like South Beverly Grill that are much more upscale and serve you the difference in quality you can taste. Plus their portion sizes are much heftier. And even their desserts are only $9.
Our bill was close to $400 - granted we had a few $50 bottles of wine ....but w/ our 3 entrees and the fries/bread starter and single cookie dessert came out to $400!! Also because they decided to give themselves a 20% tip and tacked that onto the bill voluntarily.
I have nothing against Food Affair, but I have not one compelling reason to return. It's not worth my money.
Quickly joining my top 5 restaurants in Los Angeles. The service is great, the owners are amazing and the food is superior. A must!!
Top notch service, impeccable food and a lovely space. This is the trinity of dining. I found A Food Affair from a search and hit the jackpot when I rolled the dice. The covered (socially distanced) front patio was a perfect spot to start our dinner. The crab cake appetizer with dressed julienne veggies & fruits was fresh and the flavors well balanced. My friend had the duck leg confit with beluga lentils and passion fruit. He literally raved about it. (I had a bite and was jealous.) But when I tasted my steak special, I was blown away by the perfectly cooked beef, crispy onions (shallots?) and blue cheese cream sauce that accompanied it. A pot de creme and cappuccino closed the circle on our wonderful journey. This truly was an outstanding meal and I cannot wait to return.
So lucky to have this divine place nearby. The steak was heavenly!
Chef Christian and his team have done an exceptional job adapting an already great restaurant for the COVID world. The back patio is packed with ambiance like the menu is packed with delicious food. Felicitations!
Great food, amazing - one of a kind - place!!
Super friendly host. Delicious food. Will be back next time we’re in LA
The food was perfect. A wide variety of dishes to suit different preferences. The owners are lovely people and the restaurant follows all COVID guidelines.
Staff and food were amazing. They made my Mom’s birthday extra special!
I've been going to A Food Affair for years from the time they opened. They always provide a lovely dining experience - good food, wine, service, ambience. They're reliable and consistent, time after time. I've never had a disappointing meal here. They have a covered front porch area and a back patio that's beautiful, perfectly set up for these COVID times.
They turned parking lot to a romantic patio. Food and service are very good. Love to go back.
The food was delicious, waiter nice and attentive, and the chef came to ask all the guests if they were satisfied. A perfect experience.
This place was a gem their service was great and the food even better absolutely delicious and did not disappoint on our 10 year anniversary.
Excellent French food - everybody left satisfied and enjoyed the time being here!
I love this place French/American place. Great find! Owner couple is from Aix en Provence. Food was excellent. Their bone marrow and Bouillabaisse, Provence style, was very good. You can taste the distinct ingredients that is not masked by a heavy tomato based broth. They have limited patio dining.
Food was marvelous, supper yummy 😋😋😋 servers were super friendly and efficient. Chef visited every table and made sure everything was great.
Fabulous experience in every way. Especially in this COVID era. Great menu with great selection of choices. Awesome wine choices. Very well prepared meal. Attentive no rush service by entire staff (without being annoying). Chef even came out at the end of meal to genuinely ask about our experience and to thank us for coming in. The Food Affair has figured out how to help you remember what a nice meal out used to be, and at the same time they adhere to all health precaution guidelines. Maybe our new favorite restaurant and can't wait for our next visit.
Way too over priced, small portions of food and not so tasty. Service was ok.
The bone marrow and duck confit are positively divine!! We loved everything we got. The staff are excellent and we had a wonderful time. Will definitely be back!!
Great food, cute spot, warm service! Highly recommended.
Had a lovely first visit during DineLA! Will definitely return
We went for dine la (and a pre bday meal). The food was so delicious. Classic and rich. Everyone was a delight. The chef came out and said hello all around. It’s a family owned place and they put a lot of love into it. I can’t wait to go back! Side note: do wear mosquito repellant as I did get bitten up. My bf was fine since I acted as his mosquito repellant. Would 100% still return for more!
Really enjoyed our dinner here. Great food, great service, great space!
Excellent! Great service and wonderful atmosphere
Absolutely incredible food and service as always! Everything was wonderful!
I took my partner out on a much needed dinner out. I found A Food Affair thanks to DineLA. The staff were all pleasant and the food was divine! The lamb shank was deliciously tender and juicy. The prices were a bit high for me, but the food was worth it. The chef came out to greet us after our meal, he seemed very genuine and amiable when thanking us for dining.
I love the Mushroom Tourte and my friend had the Escargot for entrees, both are delicious with their sauce. It is very filling even without bread (I'm not sure if it's because of safety concerns that they don't serve bread).
The lamb shank is a amazing! As a meat lover, the amount of meat made me so happy and satisfied. With the DineLA menu, the lamb shank is a great deal with a $5 extra.
For dessert, I had chocolate cream and my friend had brûlée. Mine is very sweet but it is hard to finish the entire one as it's again very fulfilling. I enjoyed the meal overall! So happy!
