The notable Los Angeles Couple, Babette & Christian are no doubt living a couple’s dream, to be able to work together and married for over 30 years and loving it… In 2012, Babette and Christian birthed A Food Affair, a truly unique french dining experience. From the interior and exterior décor, to your plate, the Royères welcome you to their southern style home. With Chef Christian managing and orchestrating the back part of the restaurant through his 40+ years of experience in the food industry, and Babette managing the front of the house, these two are the epitome of a successful couple. This dynamic duo is what this dining experience is all about, feeling as if you were already a part of their family.

I have been to Paris, Nice, and Saint Tropez. This place matches and surpasses many of the good restaurants I visited there. It’s a must - the food is incredible and nice ambiance.

The food here is to die for. This is my second time dining at the restaurant. It really feels like a family owned place because of the type of service you get. Definitely recommend the place. Their food is clean and well portioned, definitely get something to share along with your main course.
The duck confit falls of the bone, french onion soup is perfectly salted and uber cheesy! I also tried their special passion fruit mango lemonade -mmmmmm!!!! Def recommend.

We started with the Escargot - richly creamy, mixed with Kale, and on a Potato. For main courses, we had the Duck Confit and Beef Bourguignon, both works of culinary art that were beyond delicious! Toward the tail end of the main courses we realized we had not been served bread (and simultaneously told each other it wasn't needed - or wanted). I had written into the OpenTable reservation the (birthday) dessert suggestion, "Chocolate Mousse?" Our good fortune was that Chef Christian had made some that evening. Sublime - a mix of mousse, creme fraishe, chocolate bits, nuts, and (was it pineapple?) What a delightful discovery was A Food Affair. We will return, with friends!! Dayle and Joe Hartnett

The food is great. You can't ask for any better. It had been awhile since we had been there and I did notice that the prices seemed to have increased quite a lot from what I remember....I suppose as they have become more well known and popular. The couple who own the establishment are very personable.
I highly recommend AFA for a special dining experience.

As always, Christian and Babette were very welcoming and took great care of us this evening. We felt as if we were having dinner in their home. The Bouillabaisse was made to perfection and tasted just like my grandmother’s who was born and raised in Marseille, France. Christian is an artist when it comes to the decor of this restaurant. This was my third dinner at AFA, And I make a point of going to the restaurant every time I am in Los Angeles. Merci beaucoup pour la belle soirée!

French Neighborhood restaurant with very good traditional French cuisine. We had several dinners at the restaurant now and the high quality was consistent. Highly recommendable. It can get a bit noisy in the interior when busy (which it often seems to be during prime hours) but they have a cosy fully enclosed veranda with heaters where the noise level is not has high.

We’ve come here probably once a year over the past 6 years, every time has been great. This time was still very nice, but two things stuck out to us. We sat on the patio where we have sat every time we’ve been here. Every time someone would come in the front door it would slam hard enough to shake the walls of the patio. It happened consistently throughout our meal and was very loud and distracting, felt strange no one seemed to feel the need to do anything about it. The other thing was just feeling very rushed, we constantly felt like we were being hurried through our meal presumably so our table could be opened up. Food was still great and we would go back, but probably not for a holiday.
