About
A Casa Mia (which is Italian for ‘At my house’) is an Italian family run restaurant owned by Gennaro Esposito and his wife Donna. Gennaro has had over 20 years experience working in London restaurants.
Our mission is to work hard and impress customers with simple, good quality food, using fresh ingredients cooked daily. We want to bring a corner of Naples to Herne Bay by offering you authentic Italian food.
We believe that as long as we can give a warm and comfortable service, you will love our food and the restaurant as much as we do.
A good welcome when we arri ved, good atmosphere. Food excellent and service very good although was not very busy on the night we went. Will definitely be eating there again. Would certainly recommend the Pizzas.
Excellent, as always.
We enjoyed the food and the experience. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food is authentic and good value for money - very tasty. We had the meatball pizza, which was excellent. Will definitely return.
The food was fantastic, as always. Staff are lovely, it's a really authentic Italian experience.
Always a pleasure to eat at A Casa Mia. The standard of service and food never fail to impress. Such a gem.
Service is always good and food to match, some of the specials have been
Truly excellent. The best pizza I've had outside of Italy - so good it can nearly move me to tears. Go here for the pizza (rather than the pasta or daily specials, which are fine).
Staff are very friendly and give good recommendations. Service can be slightly slow, which is no real problem for a relaxed Sunday lunch.
Extremely friendly staff and owner who greet you personally. They work very hard to ensure that the food is good and the service attentive. Pizzas are as good and better than many you find in Naples, the home of pizza! Pasta is equally as good.
Gorgeous food, well cooked and lovely attentive staff. Thank you.
We had a tasty meal with very friendly and helpful service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, lovely fresh and simple dishes. Thanks!
Only downside was unruly noisy children which was due to lack of parental control and not the restaurant
The pizza was great, good ingredients, well cooked.
Like stepping back in time, the decor and welcoming approach will remind you of good old fashioned Italian restaurants of the past. The owners and staff really are Italians and really do know how to make a good pizza. They look alarmingly stodgy on first sight but are actually very light and the toppings great. What it lacks in style it more than makes up for in genuine bonhomie.
We had an excellent meal with very good serve and the waiter made us feel welcome and he had a good sense of humour a lovely evening.
Great restaurant. Extremely friendly and attentif. Will definitely go back
We are regulars at this restaurant which tells its own story as we are extremely fussy about where we eat. The welcome is great, staff very helpful and friendly. The food is just amazing! We are never disappointed by our choices and the wines and beers are very good. Overall this restaurant ticks all our boxes.
Love coming to this restaurant. Always great service and atmosphere. Very relaxing environment to enjoy a meal for two or with friends and family.
Heard it was very good so we were very excited. But they didn't have any Aperol, or Prosecco in small bottles or by the glass, they had run out of the half bottle of red I asked for and the white option I went for didn't taste that fresh. The seafood pasta had lots of mussels, prawns and clams but not a huge amount of pasta; though I was told that the sauce and seafood was extremely yummy. I had pizza, which was ok but the bottom was very dark and the overall flavour of burnt flour or maybe charcoal over took the flavours of the toppings a little. It was very noisy and we asked if we could move to a quieter table, but it wasn't possible. Staff were very friendly and nice and we would probably give it another chance, but a new drinks/wine list would be good. The organic beers were very nice; not as good as the 12 Taps though.
We had a lovely meal the service was friendly and very accommodating. The foid was delicious and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone.
Great place to eat for special occasions or just for tea.
Overall very impressed, the food was very good and the staff were very good. Definitely worth the money
Quality food and service in a relaxing friendly atmosphere.
Excellent pizzas, great value and very friendly staff
The food itself was pretty good - fresh pizza with an authentic taste and decent ingredients. Sadly the service was very poor. The restaurant seems woefully understaffed - front of house staff kept rushing off to seat customers and serve food - and pizza sat for over 5 minutes outside of the oven while the chef prepared and cooked the remaining pizzas for a table. Surely there should be an assistant to prepare the pizzas while the chef cooks them in the oven to reduce waiting time? An Italian pizzeria wouldn't stand for this - the pizza should be served immediately from the oven. Drinks were forgotten, and despite having a reservation were left standing in the middle of the room on arrival for over 20 minutes without even being invited to the bar area. Granted, we had called and asked to move our table to a later slot, but if that wasn't possible then the restaurant shouldn't have agreed to do it. Leaving people standing waiting is not acceptable. We were close to walking out and finding somewhere else to eat. A real shame as the place has great potential, but seems overrated and has perhaps lost its way.
The food was excellent, staff very attentive and friendly. My only problem was the lacking of Gluten free items on the menu. Only two main dishes on the menu marked GF, both with almost the same ingredients in them.
I have eaten here several times and have always been very pleased, I felt on Saturday as being rushed! Our starter came and had to ask for the bread that goes with it, no olive oil was served and with the main no black pepper was offered. I know it sounds like I being petty, but these small things can change your evening completely.
Great service, great value and atmosphere. Place was buzzing on a Saturday night. Would recommend.
The pizza was great and worth the journey
It was great to have locally sourced food
The MUSSELS were outstanding
Excellent and authentic Italian food, more than just pizza although it is hard not to have a pizza as they are so good.
Even though the start of our evening was not very satisfactory our overall experience was positive . When we first arrived we waited for almost half an hour till someone took our orders. The couple also next to us that arrived after us had their orders taken before ourselves . Excluding this, we were overall very satisfied with the food quality and the service after that original delay. Our starters were decent but the pasta dish and pizza were above average. The wine was also very pleasant and the deserts were okay . So overall a worthwhile evening.
I visited Casa Mia on Valentines night with my partner and three daughters.
We were warmly greeted and shown to our table.without any fuss we were shown the menu and drinks list. We all enjoyed a selection of pizza and pasta dishes. Personally I think the pasta dishes were the best I have eaten. I have tried all the chain Italians in Whitstable and not one can produce a really tasty and filling pasta dish.
We did have a rather long wait to order desserts but the restaurant was obviously busy on this particular night. The desserts were fine, but those who ate the tiramasu, reckon that had eaten better.
overall this is a very good restaurant with good food, a nice decor , and above all excellent staff who seem to create a very nice atmosphere.
First rate restaurant, a real gem and 100% recommend. You don't expect this in a sleepy backwater like Herne Bay, so prepare to be delighted. The pizzas are genuinely to an authentic Italian standard, not your usual disappointing crap at Pizza Hut or the rip-off tiny portions of Pizza Express.
Well done.
Only slight downside - a little chilly on the top floor by the windows; I suggest curtains for the colder weeks of the year to save keeping coats on. We were there early (just after 6pm) and place had warmed up by the time we'd finished around 7.30 pm.
Some people were a bit cold but still enjoyed the meal. Beer was good and it all had an authentic feel.meal was reasonably priced and very filling. Staff were very friendly.
Excellent food, good service, lovely atmosphere (if a bit noisy). We will be back.
Outstanding as always! Food is the best around. Value for money is unbelievable. Would highly recommend trying. I know people who have travel 50 miles just to try out the food!
We celebrated our daughter's birthday and were really pleased with the service, knowledgeable staff and the quality of the food. We all had a very enjoyable evening. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome, even though the restaurant was very busy.
Herne Bay is lucky to have this authentic taste of Italy in its town. I dined last weekend with guests from Cheltenham and they said the Pizza was the best they had ever eaten and the dinner was exceptional. The wines are excellent and extremely good value. I am a real fan of the Frascati.
Great pizzas and service.
Nice meal in a classic Italian style restaurant. Good for any occasion
Service a bit slow but pleasant. Pizzas were very good.
Welcome by chef was not warm
