My husband and I had an amazing experience here! We are in Hawaii on our honeymoon and told the hostess that when she asked if we were celebrating anything special. She wished us well, as did our waitress when we were seated and even the manager came over to congratulate us. The food was delicious! Highly recommend their seafood cakes! Lots of beers to choose from and great cocktails! I had their mai tai which was wonderful with a lilikoi foam on top!! Very unique! The manager actually gave us our drinks for free and brought out a dessert for us on the house! They were all so so friendly and everything came out very timely!

We had our last dinner before leaving for home the next day at A-Bays celebrating or anniversary. It was perfect! Our server was super nice. She was not only very attentive but knowledgeable & engaging. The fish tacos were great & the Kona Coffee Crème Brûlée .. amazing!! 😍 We sat outside up front along the sidewalk, which was a great view of the water, a little of the sunset, & perfect level of good music playing in the background. It was also a great spot for people watching. 😂 All in all it was the BEST dinner we had while in Hawai’i. Mihalo! 🫶🏻

Very nice location for a sunset dinner, right on the waterside. Food was good, fresh, hot and tasty. Staff were very good, quite helpful and accommodating. Only thing stopping a 5 is the beer was too warm. It was not room temp but as a beer freak I need it ice cold where it should be -2-0°C or 30-32°F Live music was playing and was nice. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again.

We spend 50% of our time living in the Kailua-Kona area, have had dinner here multiple times and it’s good solid B for the food. Today we decided to have breakfast for the first time here. Quality of the food was once again a solid B, but the cost for breakfast was very high. For two eggs, three pieces of bacon, and a maybe a cup of fried potatoes is $16; which is a bit high but I can live with it. The issue is it costs $2.00 add on for toast. Walk a few restaurants away the cost for the same thing but it includes toast is $13-$15. Food isn’t any better here, the view is the same, etc.

The food is great, our waitress is wonderful. We dined there in October and booked again in January requesting to be in her area. My wife had the seared Ahi, loved it, I had a burger, very good and our waitress remembered us and that it was our anniversary and greeted us with a Happy Anniversary then took special care of us. She even arrange a special dessert for us for our anniversary. Cant't say enough good things abut her. I would highly recommend A-Bay's, good food great view!

We have been wanting to try A-Bay’s for some time and were extremely displeased. We were seated up next to the rail for the sunset viewing which was nice but the view was interrupted often by our server spending more time on the sidewalk and out in the street talking and hugging friends. In these new COVID times it would seem that servers would be restricted from high fiving and hugging every one that comes by. I had the Korean Spareribs which were not spareribs at all but strips of tough pork, way overcooked and some uninspired sauce which seemed like was a cheap bottled store brand. My wife had the Kale salad and added the local catch protein option. The fish was unseasoned and would be better served being used as a roofing shingle it was so dried out. The salad was overdressed so she sent every thing back for the kitchen to try again. Again,the fish was dried out and the Parmesan Cracker on top was limp and rubbery. For such a nice location on the waterfront it is a shame to be serving such poor food..

This was our first time visiting A-Bays and boy were we impressed. We went during Happy Hour, and the value was outstanding! Most of us had the fish tacos which were so yummy. They had a great variety of beers on tap - really something for everyone. I can't wait until our next trip to Kona, so we can visit again!
