Wonderful food and service. Everything we tried was delicious.
Traditional Basque recipes & pintxos melded with Spanish tapas, flavors and even some wester variations. Definitely a unique dining experience, fantastic flavors and an amazing harbor view.
Really enjoyed the food. Service was great.
The reservation was held even though i had made them in the way to restaurant and was a little late (traffic)
Love this place! The food is so good, especially the shrimp pintxo!
It is probably just my vegan tastebuds reacting to foods to some degree, I had bacon wrapped dates and expected to get just that. Instead they brought bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese oozing out of them. The blue cheese overwhelmed the taste of all the rest of the ingredients. Not for me. That recipe is a common one, I understand so it may just be my taste. It took a long time to get the food also and it was just tapas. To be fair, my partner enjoyed her cheese plate and liked the bacon wrapped dates also. Then we had the spicy brussel sprouts. I was not over the moon about those either. I guess I'm the restaurant grinch. I would return and maybe order paella next time. Something more familiar.
Cute place. Awesome service. Most of the food was good, except the oysters weren't nicely shucked. Octopus was excellent. Good for what it is.
There was a group of 5 of us. We shared all he food we ordered. The restaurant was busy so I food took a little longer but getting it in stages made in more fun to enjoy. It did seem hot inside the restaurant, they brought us water but more water and if it had ice would have been nice. The value of all things we got was excellent. We even had dessert with a sipping sherry. We will be back for sure.
We reserved a table, and they rearranged the tables to give us a spacious table near the open wall (where the breeze was. Two servers kept checking back at appropriate intervals to keep us happy, and the food was outstanding! We got several appetizers, a salad, one entree, and one dessert to share. Lovely date night experience. We would become regulars if we lived here!
Use to love this place. Food is not the same Not sure what happened.
Food was complex and fantastic.
While in the gritty environment of the Redondo Pier, it was a lovely little spot with outstanding food. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting place to eat. And the price was really reasonable. There were three of us and we had food (including delicious shrimp) and adult beverages for just over $100 and we all walked away feeling well fed.
Very disappointed. We went for the paella and it was not very good. We ordered the mussels and the sauce was so thin and the mussels were so small, you couldn’t even see them! The only things that were good were the bread and the Coronas.
The service was not very good either.
We will not be back.
Really bad !!!!
Great spot for a group of 8 or less. Food was okay, but over-priced for the portion size. Service was terrible. They forgot to put one person's food order into the kitchen, and we waited for 20 minutes before we were even offered water. They seemed severely under staffed.
Having been to Spain, we enjoy tapas so when we heard of A Basq Kitchen in our neighborhood we decided to try it. We were very pleased with what we found. The atmosphere is beach casual and we felt like we were actually in Spain. We sampled the dates wrapped in jamon, the octopus, and a Thursday special, paella. The dates and octopus we would order again. Not much seafood in the paella, mostly rice, but very tasty rice. We will definitely make a return visit to try more of their interesting menu.
We love Tapas. Found this place online across from our hotel. It was so good we went there 2 nights of our 5 day vacation.
Service was good, but wouldn’t give me OT points
Great food and sangria!
Disappointed with food that was hyped as great. Food was just ok. Small plates are really very small servings. Ends up being expensive. Don’t come hungry bec food not filling.
Ordered the mushroom soup as an appetizer, which was delicious, once it cooled down. But after waiting way too long for it to be served (my partner had already been served his appetizer and eaten it by the time I got my soup) , it was so hot, it burned my mouth. And this after reminding the server that I had not gotten my soup yet and was told the soup was coming but it wasn't hot yet! Ordered rose wine which was warm (I understand having a refrigeration problem but then inform the customer so they don't order something that should be served chilled). We came for the Thursday paella which was advertised as 4pm to closing. We made 4:30 reservations but the paella wasn't done until about 5:30 and then it took another 30 minutes to plate and serve. Was tasty but the experience made us decide not to return. BTW, we have had this spotty service issues at a prior visit to the restaurant so we will now move on.
I'm been to San Sebastian Spain and the food taste nothing like what this restaurant is serving. Probably the worst food I've tasted.
A must for the adventurous! (Try the squid in ink soup!) The octopus over potato slice was crazy-good and in itself worth a repeat visit. Be sure to have a bottle of wine to share amounst friends. A truly delicious dining experience.
First time. Exceeded expectations.
Super casual awesome ocean view tapas restaurant! Definitely give it a try if you’re in the Redondo Beach area!
We were really happy with the menu options (prices were great too). The food was really tasty and reminded us of travel through Spain. Server was on point, even when it got pretty busy. Loved our wine! We'll be back. Great spot for a casual weeknight dinner or special weekend occasion. Next time we want to come for the Thursday night Paella special!
Enjoyed the waterfront view for my engagement celebration with friends & family. Had a wonderful time enjoying amazing food & lots of champagne toasts!
As always, A Basque Kitchen was a delight. The service is always young, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The small pates are consistently superb.
Was a good little find. We tried almost everything on the menu. The croquetas were very good. We found the cerviche a little too acidic The duck leg confit was cooked beautifully. Next time I will try their paella.
Small, casual, unassuming place, with terrific food! Unusual menu and a great sampler plate. Everything we had was good.
A great meal with a nice staff! The sangria was some of the best we have ever had! The shrimp small plate was off the charts. Great place and great location!
Date night with my boyfriend. Great location! Awesome Food! Great service! We had a perfect time. Will return again, soon!
Food is innovative and very good, great to share but the service is lousy. The waitress tried but they are understaffed. This has happened to us before. Will be very reluctant to return.
The food was really great, but the service was even better! The experience really exceeded all my expectations.
Awesome food and service as always!!!
The food was yummy. Plan on going back. I just felt bad for our waitress cause she was the only one serving the whole restaurant. She did great too! Very nice customer service.
Went to Valentines Day with another couple. Location on the King Harbor boardwalk is okay, although has a great afternoon view over the harbor. Food was excellent. Had happy hour there a few days later. Had a great cheviche. Found out that the City will not allow tables on the boardwalk. If they did, it would be so nice as it would have the ambiance of a sidewalk cafe.
A very enjoyable meal with friendly service. We had the special DineRedondoBeach menu which was excellent and good value. The lamb was terrific.
The food was delicious, as were the drinks. There are no high chairs, so if you’re bringing a baby or toddler, bring your own. This is the only reason for the 4 stars in service as opposed to 5.
Really interesting food and great service.
I WAS JUST IN SAN SEBASTIAN, AND THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I COULD FIND REMOTELY LIKE IT, WITH BASQUE FOOD, AND IT WAS LEGIT AND GOOD.
