We made a reservation on Open Table. When we arrived at the restaurant it was closed and under construction. Beware!
We showed up at the time we booked reservations for and they weren’t even open. (Noon on a Sunday). This is the second time that my group has tried to go there and this has happened.
Have to give my first one star review of a restaurant in New Orleans... we made reservations today for lunch, for Father’s Day, and we show up and the restaurant is not even open. We confirmed to all of the reservation reminder notifications, and apparently they decided to not open today. They did not answer the phone as we stood outside the restaurant, and I still have no idea why the restaurant was closed. Very disappointed!
St. Cecilia let us make a reservation and then was closed when we went there. It honestly looked like they were out of business. I hope no other out of town visitors waste their time going there only to find out it’s closed!
The food was soooo good, the ambiance is super cute. We went for brunch on a weekday and it wasn't busy but it's in a great location across the french market. Great service as well.
The waitress was rude and the food was not seasoned. Will not be going back.
Seemed as if no one had the role of waiting g on tables and whomever happened by might ask if you need anything - but no one was really taking care of a table and as such service was not great - sat for quite some time before all parties were able to order drinks and then time to order meal was too long - Both staff were nice - just scattered and almost disengaged
Food is the reason to always come back here!
Very very loud.
At a time when there were 3 nine top tables it seems a poor staffing decision to have only one staff on duty to act as server, bar tender, bus boy etc. and after unreasonable long wait the food was served cold and lacking in seasoning. Not a strong performance in a city where food is king.
I've been here before and the service and food were good. They did not seem to have track of reservations, we were not greeted and had to walk to the back to find someone to seat us. The server did not come back to the table unless they were waved down. We did not get offered refills on drinks or more water. Overall a pretty poor experience for Easter Sunday.
We went at 11 am in a Sunday. The food was very good, especially the gumbo and the coconut mojitos were delicious, however, the service was the worst we experienced over our 4 days, if not ever, in our many trips to New Orleans. Even though, there were only 3 other tables with patrons when we arrived, our food took an incredibly long time to come out. 3 of us ordered their pre fixe 3 course meal and it was well over 30 minutes before the first course (soup) arrived. One of us had bottomless mimosas and we had to chase to get the glass refilled each time it was empty. All, in all, it took 2 hours, when we had hoped for a much quicker meal.
Both bathrooms broken and they really didn’t seem to care. Definitely put a damper on the evening
Off the beaten path and quirky, but very good food. Our waitress was very friendly. 60’s & 70’s music plays but not loud, you can have a conversation with your guests.
The service, drinks and food were all outstanding! One of the best meals we had while in New Orleans!
Fun place, good food and service
Went for breakfast/brunch, food was amazing, staff is warm and friendly. It is a place that takes their time and you don't feel rushed at all...loved the bloody mary and the french toast was excellent.
Terrible oysters and food... Staff fought and argued with old another and Chef sat at the bar drinking beer. Way overpriced.
A real find. Very unassuming restaurant across from the French Market. The food was amazing, I had the Fried Chicken and we shared the Mussels with French Fries as an appetizer. Very friendly server. Best value in New Orleans.
No one asked if we had a reservation, it looked closed, it was dimly lit, but service was acceptable and the food tasted great. Overall it could do better at making customers feel more welcome.
Service was horrendous.
Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service! Our server was very attentive and made excellent drinks. He made sure my bottomless mimosas was bottomless
It took over an hour to get our food
Chicken and waffles were amazing!!!!
I ordered the fried chicken strips and waffles. The waffles, fruit, and mimosas were very good. The panko friend chicken tasted very bad. I cant explain the flavor but, I can say, that when I visited the restroom, I noticed the smell was like the chicken tasted. Maybe the frying oil was old? I did express to the waitress that the chicken tasted wrong, but everything else was good. She didn't offer anything other than apology. I didn't eat the chicken. All in all, it was cute place, and just OK. I probably wouldn't visit again. Maybe I came the wrong day?
So when we got there they were closed. So disappointed because it was our company Christmas dinner.
We had a large group of 12, but it took 1 hour and 50 minutes to get our food. Despite an amazing waitress (singlehandedly bar-tending and waiting all the tables by herself), the wait just ruined the night for us. GM or Owner needs to hire people (our sense was there was also just one cook) or get out of the restaurant business. Unacceptable.
Came for thanksgiving prefix dinner. I went fish instead of turkey and I was not disappointed. I would come back here for sure
Eggs only come scrambled.
A year or so ago, this place was special - a great brunch with a creative menu. Now, there are only five breakfast items on the menu. The eggs and bacon I had were surprisingly good, but I was looking for uniqueness like the Oysters Benedict I had had. I expect we’ll be looking for another place for brunch.
Great little place for a meal in the French Quarter
This was a really weird experience. Some of our dishes were OK like the steak frites. But the service was really shaky. One of us couldn’t get the server to understand that we didn’t want any dairy or butter, etc. Nor could we get either server to close the doors on a 40 degree night. It was freezing. And any time we asked for no dairy or to close the doors, the server would mysteriously have to go ask the manager or owner or whomever in the kitchen. In fact she seemed petrified that she had to go back and ask. Who the hell was the back there?? Anyway, wasn’t a great meal. Had steak frites which were actually pretty good; daughter had fried chicken which was meh and wife had shrimp which was downright awful - uncooked and rubbery. Finally the table was wobbly and it wasn’t because of the floor so there was no way to fix.
We're at our NOLA place every couple months and their always a great neighborhood choice. My only complaint is (1) they've discontinued oyster-on-the-halfshell altogether, and (2) please offer Sweet N Low!! (Not the generic other "Pink Stuff". There truly IS a difference!!) Ha! Fear not.............we will return! :)
Worst service. Stood at hostess stand for 10 minutes and never received service, then sat at bar where we had menus thrown at us. Byyyyyyye
Great servers and really cool place! Not a big fan of my dinner choice, but everything else was nice.
Very family friendly place. Great place to go if you have a large group. The food was good and they had a nice wine selection
Great food and grilled oysters were cheesy and fantastic. Nobody even acknowledged that we had a reservation, they were running onsurvival mode. Waiter over charged us, but was gracious. Don’t make a reservation, just go. Happy hour crew was in full swing.
Absolutely amazing food, perfect atmosphere!
Surprising great food in this little gem.. One thing to know in advance- there is no AC!! and the ceiling fans did not work... They have mobile AC unit that makes the small place a decent temperature- but stay clear on really hot days.. They were also out of many menu items and cocktails- by the 5th item they told us they were out of we were almost ready to leave- glad we didn't- the food was amazing!! Don't pass up the bread pudding desert- best we had in NOLA!!!!
We were able to reserve a table for outdoor seating so we came with the assumption we could do so.
There were two tables outside and they could not accomodate our party.
The server seemed overwhelmed and kept forgetting things.
The food was o.k. I think for the cost you could find better elsewhere.
