   After sitting for an hour, no food. We asked for water twice .. nothing. Ordered beer that we never got. Food sat on the line for at least 20 minutes before being served. I am sure it was served cold. Our server seemed to be doing laps around the restaurant- not really taking care of customers. On the way out, my brother told the manager we were leaving. He did not seem to be concerned about it. We went to Proof on Main and had a fabulous experience.

   Service was awful. The place was not busy, but somehow they were unprepared for us when we arrived on time. It took 10 minutes to ready our table of 5. Then, once seated, another 10 minutes before a waitress approached. We placed drink orders and I was delivered the wrong beer. When the food came, my wife ordered a pizza but was given no plate. We kept trying to get the waitress attention to get a plate, and finally did. But she left and never returned with a plate. So we took one from another table. I ordered chicken sandwich and it was burnt. Very disappointed

   No need to make a reservation at all. Staff seemed confused when we arrived for ours. Sat us at a random table and told us manager would be out to our table to help with reservation. The manager gave some vague reasoning that they didn’t have accommodations for a party of 6 for outside seating. But would push two tables together if we wanted. (BTW, I specifically called in advance and asked about outdoor seating accommodations for a “dinner” party of six at 9 pm which the girl confirmed should be no problem and she was adding a note to my reservation to accommodate my request). Finally seated outside with a partial menu that was missing pages from the book. (Side note, we hand carried that partial menu from the original indoor table). When we asked for a complete menu we were told that was all they had. After 10 more minutes of confusion the waitress got us a full drink menu but told us that they didn’t serve all the drinks from that menu because we were sitting outdoors. (5 feet from the indoor seating they only had a limited drink menu) which we never figured out what it actually was. We opted to make it simple but apparently asking to order a bottle of wine was a mistake also. It definitely was not worth the hassle my son went to to order it for us. I kid you not the bottle he had to practically beg to order was an 11.99 bottle of wine at Walmart that we were charged $50 for. No wonder they didn’t want to bring us the entire bottle. I am just being honest about the service. I would not recommend this restaurant especially after 9 pm unless you don’t care about the service you receive and just want to sit on the roof of a building. It’s a shame too, because I went there a few years ago and it was amazing. The management was ridiculous. One playing corn hole and the other MIA since seating us. Where were they to support their staff knowing she had a table that was not happy. They didn’t come to the table or acknowledge the fact at all.

   The outdoor rooftop was beautiful! We were excited to go there for dinner, but then got an email at the last minute informing us their plan changed for the night. It was too late to make reservations elsewhere, so we came. It was confusing with the tickets. I bought tickets for the food for our group, only to find out the only thing that one ticket would get us was a slice of pizza; the tacos were 2 and sandwiches 3 tickets. So at $9 each ticket, a sandwich would be $27. Crazy. And the outdoor bar wasn't serving a full service of drinks, you had to go inside for that. So rounding up our group with 3 different food station areas and two different places to get all the various drinks, our group never actually got to sit down to eat together. Then when I went back to the front desk to get more tickets, nobody was there. And nobody was at the pizza station to get food, and the bartender never turned around to see me standing there waiting to order drinks - he was cleaning up, talking to people on the other side, while I was completely ignored and missing from my group who was waiting on me for drinks. There was no service, no waitresses coming around to refill drinks. Definitely a dissapointing Derby experience to start our once-in-a-lifetime weekend! I should have stayed at my hotel who threw a reception party with free appetizers and drinks that we totally missed to come downtown and spend our time and money at 8up. Staying at home with my own self-service refrigerated would have offered the same experience.

   Great food. Great spot but every dang time I have to wait WAY too long for drinks. It shouldn't be like this every time.

   Unfortunately, 8Up is not worth the hype. Been wanting to try for a while based on the reviews I heard from others. The salad I ordered had brown lettuce and was poor quality overall. I hoped for better.

   They were out of two of their 4 entrees. Our waitress was good, but they were clearly understaffed as she had almost the entire restaurant. Expensive for what it was. The Old Fashioned was good.

    Finally got to try this spot and what better day to try it then on my two year anniversary with my girlfriend we had an amazing time the ambiance is really amazing there. We will definitely be back in the summertime when it’s warm so we can experience the deck outside overall 10 out of 10.
