Filet was cooked perfect,but very dry and chewy. Sides were very good. We were seated next to a large table of intoxicated loud business men. We could not even hear each other talk.

The steak was way charred on the outside (like, it tasted horribly burnt) but way undercooked om the inside (I asked for medium but it came to me rare). At $70 a steak it should be better than that. At least the sides were good.

Service was outstanding from the minute we walked in the door!! Very cordial, professional, and timely!! Food was excellent - I had a filet and my wife had salmon and both were cooked perfectly . While the restaurant is a little pricey it is a wonderful place to go for special occasions.

The host seemed overwhelmed and had a very hard time seating guests on time for their reservations. Once seated server was excellent. The valet service was very much appreciated and efficient. The return of some menu items (roasted bone marrow)was a great surprise, although the petite seafood platter was a disappointment along with the change in the ahi tuna entree (previous preparation and accompaniments were better)

We dine at 801 occasionally and have always enjoyed it. Last night our meals were just average at best for the amount we spent. Our steaks came out Luke warm and the corn was hard and not flavorful. Our waitress did ok but she had a big party of 9–10 to the side of us and was busy taking care of them. We have always enjoyed 801 as a special treat for us and could justify spending the extra money for the experience but last night we just couldn’t do that.

While the service and our server were fantastic, the food fell short. The Brussel sprouts were a soggy mess, the desserts were underwhelming. Dense carrot cake with slightly grainy creams geese frosting, and the bread pudding and as dry, lacking in custard. On the bright side the lobster bites for an app were incredibly tender, and the house made sauce was incredible. The Wagu tenderloin was all incredible. If you’re looking for a bargain this probably isn’t the place to dine. If you’re looking for a great steak you’re not going to miss here.

It was my husband's birthday . They made it very special by recognizing his birthday with the presentation of the dessert (including a candle ) and the menu with "Happy Birthday " they gave us as a gift. The food was delicious! Always enjoy going to 801 Chop House.
