If you love jazz and great food this is your spot. The staff is great too!
Such an amazing experience. My honey was daydreaming of steak diane and how in reno they cook it tableside... I found Wilfs offers that menu item and cooks it at the tableside... It was a great date night...very memorable, excellent everything!!!!
Great service and ambiance
Amazing food, great service, and exceptional music. We will definitely be back, and will definitely recommend to friends.
My husband and I love everything about Wilf's - the food, the ambience, the waitstaff and the MUSIC. Definitely try the Caesar Salad and the Cioppino. Amazing! For our anniversary dinner this year, it was a no brainer for me to make a reservation at Wilf's. It was a perfect romantic night of delicious food and jazz.
Came to listen to the music (The Bylines), have drinks and maybe a dessert. The creme brûlée was very disappointing , the Louis Martinni Cabernet was ho hum, but the Pinot Gris was delicious. The wine list on the table was not updated. We understand the challenges that the industry faces these days.
Having never dined at Wilf's, I read the five-star diner reviews with some skepticism. After all, it is in the Portland Union (Railroad) Station building. How wrong I was. Absolutely a five-star experience in every way. Would I recommend it? Enthusiastically. Will my wife and I return? With our friends.
Outstanding service and food. The server, Jeffrey, was fun and knowledgeable and the music was amazing.
Awesome service, food and music!
Wonderful. Love the music and the food. Will go back!
We loved Wilf's, have not been there since covid started , but everything was amazing, the food and staff . They did an amazing job , perfection all around.
Great birthday treat for my visiting brother. Meals, music, and service were excellent. The filets are huge and cooked to perfection. Thanks for a great time!
Jazz floated off the walls as we ate our meals making for a surreal experience. The seafood stew was amazing as were the crab cakes. Missed the Caesar salads at tableside, but they still tasted amazing.
This was our best dinner experience EVER. We loved the performer Heather and our waiter Craig.
This is exactly what I was hoping for! Live slow jazz music playing with an amazing ambiance. Great place for a date night. Very pricey though it’s not a place to go all the time.
Music was fabulous.! Avoid the Caesar salad. Great waiter! Very expensive but the music was worth it. Not traditional jazz but a pianist and singer who sang all genres of easy listening. Parking looked scary at first but it turned out fine.
My girlfriend and I went out for my birthday and it was our first time experiencing Wilf’s. The restaurant is beautiful and creates an intimate and cozy setting for any special occasion or date. We enjoyed the espresso martini’s first, while we waited for our table-side caesar salad. The salad was amazing and the maitre-d, John, even shared with us the true origin of the caesar whilst preparing at our table. My girlfriend enjoyed the french onion soup as well. For our dinner wine we decided on the Ken Wright Cellars Pinot Noir 2016. Supple raspberry, blackberry and plum fruit is smoothly mixed together, with seams of cola and chocolate. Lighter details of Italian herbs add further complexity. Wilf’s has prepared traditional Steak Diane for 47 years table-side so I figured it would be the perfect dish to pair with our pinot noir. My girlfriend loved her Wilf’s pasta. We will definitely be visiting Wilf’s in the future.
Fun spot to catch live jazz. Sit in the bar area if you want to be near the musicians!
Dinner at the restaurant was overall excellent and fun. Service was great, food was excellent and music was entertaining. Definitely our new Date Night location.
We enjoyed our dinners however the prices seemed very high and it’s not a place to eat every day. More of a special occasion type location. Jazz band was great and waiter was very attentive.
Great experience. Wonderful service ambiance, and food!
We’ve celebrated our anniversary for the past few years except 2020 but I did purchase make at home meals to support during 2020. This was a very unique and different experience that I’m not use to, service was just okay which is usually outstanding convinced another couple to join us so they would become patrons as well. Hopefully this was a one off
Great time here listening to a friend of mine sing some good music! I would say this was my first experience with “fine dining” and our waiter John was so fun and made sure we had a swell time. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a fancy night out on the town!
Had a wonderful birthday celebration. Excellent service and listened to some live jazz music. I appreciate their careful COVID precautions.
Had another wonderful evening at Wilf's last night. Friendly people, excellent service, fantastic music.
Great service and delicious dinner of petrale sole. We enjoyed the jazz vocalist and pianist, as well.
At first glance, one might not think a restaurant in Union Station is going to be good, but Wilf's blew us away. From the live jazz music, to the incredibly friendly and accommodating wait staff, to the delicious food. Everything was fresh and well prepared, and if you get one of the tableside dishes, you get a story and entertainment as well. Get the Wilf's salad, the Steak Diane, and Banana's Foster and you won't be disappointed. We sat in the dining room near the back and enjoyed the live music without having to yell at each other over the table. Will be returning again to try more items on the menu!
Another special birthday celebration! Never disappointed with this fabulous restaurant.
time favorite with fine jazz music, elegant surroundings and very tasty food. Glad to see they have survived and continue to prosper. I appreciated that proof of vaccination was required to dine here.
And once again, Wilf's gave us a wonderful evening with friends, food, ambiance. Its a nice return to some semblance of normal.
Wonderful establishment, wonderful environment, wonderful proprietorship… Definitely a little hidden jewel in the city of Portland
New favorite date night spot. Incredible food, service and music!
Service was fantastic and the food was so delicious. The music was great.
We are big fans of Wilf’s. We recommend you try it! Very happy they’re back after closure during the height of the pandemic. The ambience and great live music, food and great service are wonderful. We will be back.
This was our first time to Wilf’s but it won’t be our last. The food was excellent and the wait staff attentive and helpful without being overbearing. The Jazz in the bar was also wonderful accompaniment to the night out. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner.
A truly remarkable, memorable experience. I wish Wilf's had been on my radar years ago - I've eaten at nearly all of the top restaurants Portland has to offer, and this one stacks up in it's own, unique way. If you enjoy food and unique experiences, it should be on your radar too.
The dining room is open to the jazz lounge (it's one large room), but far enough away that you can carry on a conversation comfortably while also enjoying the music. The wait staff are absolutely superb, and finish many of the dishes table side (e.g. Caesar salad, steak Diane, bananas Foster). Everything we ate was top notch.
I was a little apprehensive about the location, but found it to be quiet and safe. Parking is very convenient in a quiet little enclave across the street from the restaurant. And the Union Station building provides a great photo backdrop on your way in.
I will certainly be going back for special occasions in the future.
It was great to be back at Wilf's! The music (Tony Pacini) was just the best. Our server was very good, the food in the bar tasty (salmon cakes!) so I call it a wonderful outting! J
